@ Jon: I'm assuming it was probably the school's connection. ^^' @ KM: Hai-hai, well I'm probably going to check in on the writers this december. As always, ask (By PM) if stuck! @ Mokona: Right! Remember what we're righting is more or less the ending and events leading to it. @ Darky: WOw! Organized! Hmm, From that I'm thinking about dong something similar... When I get the time I'm thinking to put up a task board for all to see. Since I cant really ask anyone, the tasks up will be available for members with time to take up. We'll get on the comp club president. I might end up deciding with the writers via PM's instead of IM meetings. I'll PM propositions to Mokona and KM. Rennua looks pretty talented- I'm all for putting some of that enthusiasim to use! @ Rennua: Wow! That does look good! Maybe art department can work on getting some of the colorization down for some of the characters. @ Jejechi: Well until then, hope those computer troubles get resolved real soon. You're on momentary leave it apepars! *Wonders if jejechi'll even read this* |

I'm liking the art. I'll admit, I was worried for a second there. Looks like that was unfounded. In addition to character art, though, we'll need someone who can create backgrounds. This would (most likely) either be a square-ish shape, if the conversations doesn't move much, or a panoramic-ish image if the place is a common talking point. By making it wider, there can be multiple conversations in a single location that don't get repetitive. Simply moving the image to the left or right slightly would mix it up enough, which is why panoramic images would fit it well. On a completely unrelated note, I think I'll finish writing the decompiler I was working on... |

@Link: Decomplier? :o :o :o lol Is that truly "unrelated"? |

Basically just a way to take compiled RenPy code and come back with readable code. There are some effects I've seen in other games that I downloaded as research I think might be nice to emulate. But, that also depends on if the writers call for use of the effects. Either way, finishing the decompiler is good programming practice :D. I can't take full credit for it, though. I'm just finishing the work of someone else. |

It actually works. The problems I was having were due to differences in how Windows and Linux handles files. And importing modules. Python is tricky like that. The output is not exactly "natural", and compiling the scripts taken by the decompiler would result in errors due to indentation issues. And tabs, but that's a simple fix. Currently working on getting the output to behave a bit better. Edit: and now I'm finding improvements to be made... hehe |

@ Link: Yeah- the paranormic views would keep settings a bit more interesting though the game. Will probably need a single or more dedicated artist for that field. I got Thanksgiving holidays + the weekend coming up, so I'll make note of then when I overhaul the OP post. Wow- good luck with compiling everything, I wanted to do it myself, but school ended up happening and.. ^^' But thanks! @ All: Minna, I got intents on pulling off a second Hiatus check after updating the OP post, please be mindful of it! EDIT: I Edited the Opening Post, now it has a passive job list for members who want to complete something and aren't quite sure what to do. Just make sure to inform us if you do finish it though! Also- I added a small section to the recruitment statement ~Specialized Positions~ that spells out the exect kinds of skills we're looking for. (already added the paranormic view/background artist) Please tell me if you want anything else added. EDIT 2: After looking at heads of departments to send Hiatus Check PM's, I've realised Lockey has been absent since... August? I'm requesting that ALL Music Department Member please post now or send me a PM, ASAP. |

I'm going to put some music on and get to work on the updates now. Sorry I've been so slow lately, school is going horribly and I have a few scattered exams throughout the month. I'm not sure how far Shuyin got or how much he got done since I left him to his own devices. @Ugo- I'm guessing that all the new characters have been added to the first post? Edit: -Changes to Website-December 08, 2009- Staff Section -Rennua Added -Background images added throughout site (Please let me know what you think. Does it look nice? Does it contrast too much? Is there another image(s) that may be better suited?) -Art Gallery Updated -Aya(Colored) -Logos and Advertising (New Album) -Forum Signature(Large) -Forum Signature(Small) -Chracters Section -'Kit' Ashland Added -Cathy Ashland Added -Lax Edited -Ty Edited -Story Section -Filled in with small story outline. Edited a little from first post of this thread to fix some diction issues and wording. -Some options were changed on the site since I just discovered them today. -The site is now listed in Webs.com's Website Listings with tags, for whatever it's worth. I couldn't find a search function on Webs main site, so I don't know what it accomplishes. -Profile picture added (Or at least should have been. As far as I can see, it isn't working properly.) -Site description added (Again, don't know what this will accomplish without an easy to find search function on Webs.com.) |

@ Rennua: No Prob. Would love to see more colored work. DO try to get OK's from Darky to determine the official colorization you two can agree on. @ Jon: Thanks for the updates. The backgrounds help make the site a bit more interesting. But be careful using my terrible art! >.< While I am also kinda self conscious about my skill, my arts a bit too sketchy- May want to stick with the pieces with cleaner lines. @ All: I've got finals tomorrow, and up until now a good amount of tasks and assignments and life made it impossible for me to make any reply. After tomorrow I (unless I find some good internet over where I'm going) wont be able to respond to any messages or post. If any questions are present please do say them while I can still reply! Still, for me it is the holiday season. So I should say hope everyone has a good time during my extended period of absence! ^^ EDIT: I'll Should also probably note that Mokona hasent been able to log onto Gendou lately due to one of her siblings worrying about internet viruses. Still have her in contact via E-Mail. |

I'd like to make everyone aware that there is a new version of RenPy available for download. Version 6.10.1 includes upgrades for manipulating images, replacing all of the arbitrary functions with one common language known as ATL (Animation and Transformation Language). All coders should download the newest release and have another look-see on the documentation of this new feature. There are also a couple of youtube videos you can watch that show off ATL in action. |

Mwhahaha! I'm back! Yup, Ugo's flying off to the Phillipines round about now- just wanted to thank everyone for their hard work and let's take from this Sunday 20th a formal break until Ugo's back- everyone have an awesome X-mas and a fantastic New Year!! P.S: I was able to log on because I booted my mum off with her chinese music she made me download and she happened to scare off my brother, leaving me to do the work and now i've got some time on ^^' How is everyone? Seeing as this is a break, there is no need to post VN related stuff i guess, but still keep the thread alive! Have a Merry Christmas!! P.P.S: Yesh, I'm still working on the story with Ugo, had my MOCKS recently, has been a crazy month but it'll loosen up soon- hopefully :S |

Hey, I've returned, though I reckon tis be for a while. Now that my finals are done, I can give some time into the project (not to mention more than two hours'a sleep a night). I've checked the site, checked some of the recent posts (I'll try to catch up on older posts), and got the latest version of Ren'Py. All that's left is to study the code again. And, right, Merry Christmas and a happy holidays to all. |

I'm going to stick a notice up on the site then, saying that (for the most part) everybody is on break from the project. For now I'll just say that the project will start up again around the second week of January. |

Yet during break we can all do something fun and beneficial...like play VNs? '_' Anyways, I finally (finally!) got the first Galaxy Angel VN to work and I was thinking..."Let's add a complex battle element to ours!" I'm joking of course (seriously...well, at least not something that complex as GA), but I did notice one little element worth thinking about: Should the player be 'artifically" cued as to when their actions play favorably/negatively for a certain target character; ie. should a certain tone be played when the character responds indicating whether their response is positive or negative? Personally, being a VN novice, I don't mind this little feature as I don't easily pick on the subtleties of the game (though, GA isn't exactly subtle in the responses anyways, though I've played one where I had absolutely no idea what I was doing). On the other hand, it does make the experience, at least on the "dating sim" aspect, a bit too easy; I can easily track and steer my story towards who I want with the greatest ease (Go Mint! :3). So what about ours? Should we include it or not? (Or, personally, I say we give the player the choice when they first play or incorporate a slight easy/hard difficulty element.) |

Terror: Oooh I think to check out some VNs is a great idea! Errm, any links to any we can all check out? Hey, we could always have the lads battle it out? E.g if someone is having difficulty choosing which character to choose (and choosing this will choose their main arc story) they can have an option to do a random fight sequel? Just a thought.. i like battles. Err, i don't really get the first part- but i'm happy to give a thumbs up for the "positive/ negative tone" thing? But yeah, we could always let the reader choose in the Main Menu to toggle the effect on/off Jonathon: *thumbs-up* for the notice. 2 days to go! ~ |

@ All: Ohyou Minna! I managed to get enough internet time to sign in and say Merry X-Mas to all! Proably not too appropriate to rave about my trip. Still merry christmas all! @ Link: It seems the new version has the capacity fo more capabilities. I hope coding finds how to make good use of the new engine. @ Mokona: That's right. Everyone deserves a break! Demo, I should not I'll set up the deadline for the endings soon. Any word from KM yet? @ Basil: WOw, you must've done a good amount of studying for those finals. Ugo doesent study for more than 15 minutes the period before my finals ^^' @ Jon: Aye. that date'll be fine. @ Terror: IN actuality, haveing a battle element has always been in the back of my head. But- I was thinking of holding back on that until a second project. My idea of battle elements was always something like an Gust Turn Based RPG... If you want to develop a battle element (Little Busters, anyone?) in place of the Mini Games... it isnt a bad alternative really. (I've always wanted to do character design for a battle rpg too... >.<) Considering the violent relationship between the comp club and the 3 of our main characters, it isnt too hard to reason in either! |

@All- hi guys... i have one announcement My pc went down so I cant join the Im sessions and one depressing anouncement... the story that was under my jurisdiction is on haitus because of this reasons 1. majors in my college life 2. scrapping, editing, finalizing and loop hole problems 3. rejection of my proposals for the plot itself [seriously this is my most extensive story planning, i rejected nearly 35 proposals to fit on my the story... but i did not say I will quit... but my only problem is to convert it from MS word to Renpy notepad @Ugo- have you finished editing Reikou Kizuna's Profile?
