Sorry i can't be much more of some help explaing the series....i only know what happens in the first game....so some stuff in the anime i can understand. So like i said to DAngel-san...i have no idea where the series is going....

I assume some points in the anime will be translated over to the upcoming second game which will be released later this year...i guess somewhere in December cause that was when the first game came out 2 years ago.

The artistic animation sort of reminds me of how Utena was done....some interesting uses of color (black & white scenes) & shading (noticed how Kei glowed in the gym during the 3rd episode?)....quick flashes of scenes. Very interesting ideas & styles from the director.

The idea of the anime like the title suggests....the first game dealt with the relationships with Miyako/Hiro & Kei/Kyosuke...The other characters Chichiro/Renji & Mizuki/Shuichi weren't in the original game so their stories are new to me.

All i can say is that Yuko Amamiya & Yu Himura play VERY big roles in the story...you notice how Yuko sometimes appears out of nowhere...sometimes leaving feathers when she disappears suddenly as well.

From what i can tell...& i said this before...all the characters you meet all start from different paths but eventually they will all come together in some way....as for that way...well....i guess you will have to figure that out yourselves.

I'll just keep watching the anime and find out more on my own.
Sure it's confusing to me now, but I think I'll know more as the anime goes on.

How long is this series, anyways? Makes me think that Clannad is going to be really short as well (like Air, or longer like Kanon).

I thought CLANNAD was to be 26 episodes. Ef is either 12 or 13 I think... 12 I bet.

Well if it continued for 24-26 episode i don't think it can be as good as it is right now but at the same time 12 feels too short cause of three different plots but we shall see how this unfolds.

Just dwlded euphoric field from somewhere else... seems like there is an english and japanese version to it... the anime ep 2 and 3 have the english version in it...

well... it is a song with a really sad tune to it... so yeh love it =D

Just added the lyrics to the song if anyone is interested in them. As for the longer version:

Euphoric Field lyrics (full)

*this is taken from the cd booklet*

Why am I standing alone in the twilight
Let me go, no more lonely nights
I take a deep breath under the hazy sky
Feel like losing, but it's gonna be alright

Break through the night, go and try to fight
Don't be afraid, now is the time

Be alive, take it
I surely feel my heartbeat
There's no limit to my reach
I say good-bye to my tears that I don't need
So believe in my dream

Don't look back to the sorrow I left behind
Here's my real intention I hide
I wish you were here, and so just right by my side
Need to be strong enough to swallow my pride

I have been looking for my own style
Don't give it up, here comes the life

Be alive, take it
I have learned a great deal
Brighten our sweet memories
Hope there will be a future for you and me
So believe in your dream

Be alive, take it
Promise to find, yes I will
Shining wings filled with wishes
Fly high, make it
Get to the new world that I seek
Someday so i believe

It's a very pretty song....i've been listening to the japanese version & the english version & Miyako's version. They all have their own style to it...Miyako's is alot more mellow.

Both the japanese & english versions are great. I do like the English one more since i can sing along to it more easily.

As for the length of the series....well alot can be put into a 12-13 episode series. Take AIR for example....would it be nice if the series was longer. Sure! But if the creators think they can tell the entire series in that time frame & still deliver a memorable series...all the power to them.

Also a shorter series will leave people thinking about it more....the creators will tend to leave stuff out on purpose to make people think.

I saw the first ep of this and was mildly intrigued. Liked how discontinued the story seems to be and is wondering if the girl's lack of memory making skillz is to blame for it or something else is in effect. So far, I like it.

I wonder if that instrumental piece from the preview is available anywhere. Anyone know? 'Cuz that was a good piece.

I think the song is okay...

Anyways, the anime cleared up after the second episode. It's not confusing anymore. I just wish the director didn't have to present the first episode like he did...

^^ I finished this series a couple of days ago.
I really enjoyed it.
I liked the ending and how the pairs ended up.

@_@ Although I'm still kind of confused as to what happened with Chihiro at the end...

It is gonna be kinda wierd when i get a copy of the next game in May...i would already assume what will happen in it after seeing the anime series. I was pretty impressed with the feel good ending cause i really didn't expect it.

Since i only played the first game it didn't really know what was gonna happen in the anime. Now that the series has ended i thouroughly enjoyed it.

Ef~ A Tale of Memories have provided viewers with what to expect for its second game, due to be released later this year. Out of 3 main female characters, mine is definitely Chihiro, which tempts me to obtain the second game, aptly entitled "The Latter Tale" (or something along those lines) to discover if there is any variation between the anime and visual novel endings.

I love this anime .
Interesting story n lots of life . Too bad I don't play the game
About the song , rather than euphoric field , I prefer Kizamu kisetsu by Junko Okada . Although it is very short

I just finished this series (finally, after long delays) a few minutes ago. ^^ I'm very satisfied with the ending, it also gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. X3

What really moved me was how Chihiro couldn't stop thinking about Renji even if she wanted, which meant that she couldn't possibly forget him. <3

But yeah. It's a great anime, with great animation and a great OST. ^^ It's very deep in meaning and philosophy, I would think. xD Lol, or maybe I'm just infected with my Humanities class lectures. -_-'

But yeah, all in all, this series is definitely in my top ten current favorites. Such a great story.
