Hi Ryuichi Hattori! Wow. This thread is downright cool! To answer your question: "Astig" is the right way of saying it. Astig is an anagram for the word "Tigas" which literally means hard or tough. Astig is a colloquial term for cool. For example. "Tapos ka na sa Home Ec project natin?! Astig!" English: "You're done with our Home Ec project? Cool!" Tapos means finished. Natin means our. "Kilig" on the other hand is a sensation or feeling associated with love or infatuation. Say, when you see your crush, or when the object of your affection does or says something truly nice to you. I don't think there is a direct English term for it, but it is akin to "butterflies in the stomach". For example, "Hinatid ako ni Kaien sa bahay namin ngayon, nakakakilig!" English: "Kaien walked me home today, I have butterflies in my stomach all the while!" Hinatid means to walk with someone along the way. Bahay means house. Namin means our. Ngayon means today or tonight, as the case may be. Hope that helps. For my fellow Filipinos, kung may mali, paki tama na lang. Bihira na kasi akong mag Tagalog :D |

I am hopping! Tumatalon ako! (ako means I) past tense tumalon I edited my example for this partiocular sentence ^_^' for ex. I hopped over a fence. Tumalon ako sa bakod.(bakod means fence) Hope that did it for you ;) |

Hi Zell! Yep. Jump is also talon in tagalog. Apparently, the word "talon" could mean a tiny hop or a gigantic leap to oblivion! ha ha ha! |

i believe the better term for i have a crapy computer is "ang TAE ng kompyuter ko" since "meron akong sirang computer" is translated as "i have a broken computer" tae means crap. oh! and i'm filipino too! nakakapagpapagabag is nerve wrecking i believe. |
Re: SOLI'S TAGALOG LESSONS~!!

"i have a crappy computer" can mean anything depending on how you mean it. If it's an insult to your computer then, Poko Poko's "Ang TAE ng kompyuter ko" or Neon's "Walang kwenta yung compyuter ko" can be used, if it's meant to say it's broken then, "Meron akong sirang kompyuter" can be used tebayo~ (o3o) |
