"i thought this VN was eastern version lol XD but it's western version XD" @je: Well, it's the East Coast of the US which is in the West. xD Plus, we're pulling people from a anime forum so I assume that even the story witting will contain some common "Japanese elements", etc. Plus, we're using a Japanese group name, so I think any player might expect some "je's" (lol) in the game. @dark: hmm... Lax: Now I don't know all too much about the characters (>_> eh...), but I like Lax's overall style (especially the "Blaze" cut, lol [don't mind that reference]). Personally though, I think he could use different glasses (frames). It like he's made (in the sketch) to be a "stylish geek", and those glasses kind of pull away from that style. Aya: Kawaii... Anways, I personally don't like the ribbon in the hair. >_< That just me, but maybe try putting it on her right side to "balance" it with the one on the skirt (or move the skirt bow, yeah). Ty: Hmm, simple and a "brand slave" eh? xD I can see it. He looks alright (ie. I dont have anything wrong with it, >_<), but after seeing him and Lax/Aya, I get the familiar feeling of "Persona". xD |

@Darky- I'm heading the Website team. If you would like to have your own Progress Log then we can make that happen. The main Progress Log page however is just for general news on advancements in the Project. Ugo has suggested a few things, so we're going to try and add those after all the main work is done. Shuyin was out of service for a while, and Sayu just got back, so we should be moving alone much faster starting tomorrow. |

@Dark: Just to be clear, I mentioned "brand slave" as the same symbol appears everywhere on him, kind of like how people buy clothes based on a certain brand's name or to fit a style. >_> Hard to explain as I tend to not be one of these people, but I sure know a lot who are... Looks like the website has been updated again. ;3 Looking better. Btw, Shuyin has the "VA" twicetwice on the staff page and I think (unless I still confused Ugo on the subject) I'm the head of VA. >_< (Also, I have school starting the 25th, unless they strike... >_> Well, I still have to cover it I guess for YB.) |

@Terror- Apologies. We'll fix that. When I was filling in the staff page I went mostly with what Ugo had on the first post, I wasn't sure if she had officially made you head of VA. I haven't heard from Shuyin or Sayu in a while, I was hoping they could start with Darky's request to have individual Department Progress Logs. I'm feeling kind of under the weather in more ways than one right now.-_- |

Sorry for taking so long to post... eheheh. @ Darky Well as late as it is, here's my input: Lax: Just about the same thing as everyone. The glasses would probably fit him better if they where more of a I'd say normal rectangular style. As for his eyes, I'd say it wouldn't hurt to try to make them the more narrower styled eyes. Lax has a side that gets embarrassed, but he also has a broader side that's fighting against the computer hacking club, keeping s straight face when turning down girls, and dealing with Aya's condition. we wouldn't want him to seem angry and distressed all the time, so it would be good to go for an overall soft expression. I think the eyes in the side view caught the idea. Nonetheless, I liked it! Aya: Lets see now. Aya looked really cute in the 3/4's view. I mistook the ribbon on her air for strands of hair, which gave her hair a "blown by the wind" effect. ^^ For ribbon placement, I think the bowtie on her head is a bit big. The plain headband is still used by girls where I live. For customization, you could go for a custom design headband (it's still possible to do with bangs). Alternatively you could just have double ribbons that are a bit smaller. Aya's bowtie appears to be the biggest defining point for her character swaign, so make sure to place it well and not make it so big it would look unreal. As it is right now the bow looks "heavy" on her head. You should either go for making the bow a lighter/thinner cloth and/or make the bow smaller. Tyson: Despite all the comments before, I honestly like how Tyson is now. The design fits the character perfectly (especially the face) Mokona-chan should have some other things to say "since she's writing his arc" but I think she's a bit busy with life now. ^^' ~~~~ If you mean storyboards as in what types of special cg's and whatnot to use, then at the moment the available thing to go for would be my ending entry for the VN contest. (you can find it in the index of entries in the Writer's Club/Guild.) does that work for the time being or...? @ Jejechi: Now now- it's alright to admit you need work but it's not good if you put yourself down all the time. My biggest thing with your art is in how the face is a bit smallish compared to the amount hair takes up. (Might I suggest letting the face toake up more of the head?) Might I suggest asking Darky-san for pointer? He's got a better grasp on art that I do in my opinion... ^^' @ Jonathan and Terror: Sorries, yeah- Terror is head of VA. Also, there isnt any "Head of Coding" as basil didnt want such a hierarchy with only sparse memebers. (I'll edit the OP post asap) |

Sayu apparently hasn't been on since the 10th and Shuyin hasn't gotten back to me yet, so I'm going to try and get back to the site to make those minor changes since I'm feeling marginally better than before. |

Hmm, just been flicking through some of the posts~ Good job everyone!! Ugo has been working really hard! She's PM-ed me and helped me loads with my work and getting me to shift my lazy arse into gear ^^ (Sorry if i've missed anyone, but here goes!) Darky: Great sketches! I think your ideas are coming together really neatly! And I think you've pretty much nailed the ideas for the design of the characters :) especially the top-right hand corner ideas- they're great! As for Tyson, well, i don't have much to say- I know they're just sketches, so you'll probably neaten it up in time- so not much to comment about from me- good job! Jejechi: Your sketches are really good too! From your post... I take it you're gonna do some designs/sketches for the Hacking Club members (sorry if i'm wrong)? And well, if you have got some more spare time- a few character designs for Aya's friends e.g. Sarah and Anson :) - and is anyone gonna do poor old Uncle Sam? Plus, a few odd background characters (maybe silhouettes) for School-Corridor scenes, but i dunno if we'll have all that fuss and detail.. @Shuyin- It's alright, I've been out of it for about two weeks myself.^^; I still kind of am, not fully better yet, at least not emotionally/mentally. I'll send a PM to you shortly. I guess if you can you should get started on that 'Department Progress Log' thing Darky wants, but whether or not that will work depends on if we can get feedback from Department Heads (either here or through PM) as to any progress they make. I'm just waiting on Ugo and Makona to finish a story outline for the 'Story' section of the page (since Ugo didn't want me to just copy/paste off the first post), so when that is done I'll be proofreading it and getting that in. There isn't much else I can suggest right now. All I can tell you is that once again, if you see anything missing or something you think we should have, then go right ahead and add it. Feel free to proofread and edit anything on the pages as well if you see an error (seeing as how I made one and didn't realize it until it was pointed out by someone else). |

I got to talk a bit with Jeje today, I hope we talk again like that more often :) --- Passing by with a sketch... I did this to relieve some tension... Some revisions to Aya's design plus her bag in the sprites, I was thinking something like a mix and match thing... Maybe We'll prepare 2 tops, 2 pants/skirt, jacket, and random acessories making more possible combinations... but is it possible to randomize this kind of stuff? --- Studying anatomy is damn fun yet hard but still all fun xD I'm learning tons! too bad I can;t focus myself into it because of my projects still due >_< |

It's been a while, and I reckon the Coding Dept. still is in standby. Might remain like that for an indefinite length if there are still no takers for coding positions, as I am to start my post-secondary education on the 31st. I'll try to squeeze in my Ren'Py studies in between sessions of Java coding. |

Alright, after looking over an example from Mokona to check the basic coding script, I noticed something she(?) did that could really be of use to the rest of the arc writers. Simply put, the example focused on the actions of Tyson as we was waking up one morning to the sound of the door opening downstairs. The player is given a choice to either check out who it was or go back to sleep. While Mokona's ending to the choice led to the same outcome, I suggested this (more serious) scenario: Waking up at the time Lax shows up would result in the two of them going somewhere on time and possibly seeing Aya and some time with her (ie, improving their chances of being the guy at the end). Sleeping in more would make them late to the place, either prompting them to go elsewhere or miss Aya at the location. If you guys are planning such "drastic" events like this, then I think it would be smart to not lay all the story altering decisions solely on Aya, but rather give the player some control over the actions of the possible love interests as well. This way, their choice with the love interests could influence the overall outcome. Or even maybe, given the above scenario as an example, give the players a chance to choose where Aya will spend her day. If we have locations A, B, and C, we could say that if the player decided for Aya to go to B and later had Tyson get up on time, the two would meet (regardless of the first choice with Aya, always show the events with Tyson). If Aya goes to A then she wouldn't meet the other two as let's say Ty/Lax wouldn't go there regardless and she meets up with someone else. If Aya goes to C and Tyson sleeps in, then let's say they meet in "passing" but nothing too substantial happens and she ultimately goes with someone else. (If that's too hard to follow, I have a flowchart I could share, lol. I was even confusing myself. <_<) Condensed, try and use "multi-decision-logic" where two or more choices (by two different characters I suggest) influence the outcome of an event. This makes playing a given section that much more interesting as not you have "6" outcomes instead of say 2 or 3. ------------------------------------------- One other thing, if the writers want to try something like this, then I suggest you get something like a timeline set up so you can coordinate all the different possible meetings and match ups (though I think I'm trying to suggest everything to make "a perfect VN", which is really hard when we can't all be in one room and talk this stuff over in person. >_< Oh well. Oh look, 2 walls in like 45 minutes...fun... |
