Its true we can compute by using a light? How its work ?

If you're talking about fiber optics, then check here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber_Optics

It's using light to carry information... it's a wee bit confusing for me, so I'll let you check the link if you're interested ^_~

That is...if that's what you're talking about... o.o;

Quantum Computing is an interesting field of both physics and computer science.

As always, you should check Wikipedia before asking very general questions:

Whoa.. the quantum computing its completly hard to understand...
I dont know about qubits and any other quantum physich but I think todays computer technology is nice... so we doesn't need quantum computer now... perhaps next 10~15 years

Actually, it suprised me too but, if you look at today;s supercomputers (30-40 times faster than average modern computers), they still take years to complete math computations (that's becuase these math comps. are billions of calculations long!). But if you have a quantum computer, it can do all these math comp. in a blink of an eye. The idea in the quantum computer is for multitasking..all at the same time! Amazing isn't it?

Yes, is very interesting, the computer which use light of course the main speed as fast as light velocity... the qubits that is mainly idea about quantum computer, its same as bit that we use now, this is a new tech to advance computing science and an Industry of course (~_^)

you're on the right track about using light to carry information in quantum computers...but the entire idea of quantum computing is to..like i said, "multitask all at the same time". The whole deal with quantum computing is actually based upon an experiment done. Say you were to shoot an electron through two slits. It is common for someone to think that the electron will go through the first slit, then the second slit after it has gone through the first slit. But by experiment, this is not what happens. As it turns out, the electron goes through both the slits at the same time!!! As if the electron had been split into two particles!! In other words, the single electron that you shot through both the slits exist at two places at the exact same time!! ok...enough with the tech talk, but as you can see, this is the power quantum computing is taking advantage of. It's multitasking all at the same exact time...literally.

The main idea of quantum computing is Quantum Physich.
We can use the electron spin to built a boolean gate.
Because the velocity of electrons is same as light, the quantum computer is really fast.
Because quantum computer just use the electron state...
Search some PDF literature on google to understand it more.

Modern pc's may seem extremely fast (which they are, relative to how fast we can think), the processors that the likes of Intel and AMD are making, can't really get much faster without radical changes (such as multi-"core" processing, or completely different materials) because they're running into the problem that each trasistor is becoming just a few molecules across, and any smaller would make them non-existant, so if we can send a "quantum processor" instructions similar in nature to the ones we send today's processors, and they can be produced for less than a thousand dollars a piece, universities, researchers, hardcore gamers, and eventually the average computer user will use them, and any pure processing will be done in a fraction of the blink of an eye. Perhaps these "quantum processors" can have 500 gigabyte caches, eliminating the need for RAM, and if it can hold its state when powered off, we won't need hard drives, and once we have fiber obtic cables running right into our computers for internet, running at speeds of multiple terabits per second, computers will be amazing, unthinkably fast, such that games will be as real as reality, and load times will be a thing of the past(resolution of 16000x9000[a whole wall with each pixel a hundreth of an inch wide] at the highest quality, a feature length, high definition, uncompressed movie can be downloaded in a a few seconds, the cpu usage will generally hover at .001%, programs like Folding@Home will run out of projects to hand out in a couple days, graphics cards could have the ability to generate millions of frames for every one that today's monitors can display, etc, etc, etc). Man that would be cool...

10 more years!
