Reverse by default

I poked around but can't seem to find it. Is there a setting which by default remembers so when I open topics, the oldest post is first and newest last?

If I'm the 0.1% minority I'd hate to have you code something like this. I just found it very confuzing, at least at first and until I found the Reverse button :) especially when you're dealing with multi-page topics. Thanks though!

| Well I'm also more used to it due to other forums, also it gives me the incentive to read everything that was previously posted. Yes the reverse button solves that, but it would make it slightly easier/convenient if I could put it on default for all topics :) Thanks Gendou if you do add it. |

i set the default to DESCENDING order in time. lets see how it works out! many people will be confused at first.

Hmm, this thread kinda explains why I got dizzy in the 1st place. But anyway, it helps a LOT, since I'd rather not be spoilt by the newer posts in a certain thread. I'd say keep it this way, Gendou-sama. ^___^

Because I'm so used to the reverse order, just wondering if it's possible to set it as an option so that I don't have to click reverse all the time? :x |

...If this is gonna be the new default, then we might have to fix a few things... like having the post reply button and such at the bottom of the page... Also, just some things I've been wondering about: Why does the page number start at 0 instead of 1? Could it be possible to make it so that the site will remember which pages you reverse and which ones you don't? Or make it so you can put the url to the thread that you want reversed, or something? That way, if you go to the depression thread, you can view the latest posts without having to go the last page *realizes that that may be more work than it's worth* ...it seems like I used to have more, but I've forgotten XD Edit: Oh yeah, if you have, let's say, 50 pages of threads, and you want to look at page 25, it's kind of a pain to click on 10, then 11, 12, and so on... so would a "jump to __" thing be possible? Or making it so you can see pages 10-15 instead of 10-11? |

When computers count, they start at zero. When people count, they often start at one. My website is different because it always starts counting at zero, like a computer. Thats cause I like being different, and is unlikely to change. There are two types of page lists: the one used on the thread.php page and the one used on search.php. This is an issue of CPU usage and is not likely to change. If you want to go strait to the last page of a thread, click on the "view" link nexto the last post.

When I got into a thread, I was really confused. I actually like the newest first and the oldest last..And I getting a headache already--!

Me and my friends vote for the ASCENDING order (only because we have gotten used to it). I guess we'll have to test things first (hold on, minna!). ^^ EDIT: Gendou-san, aren't yae going to place another Back | Reverse | Post Reply at the bottom of the pages, so we won't have to scroll back up? I was thinking of another alternative idea - placing the page numbers on the top too, so that we don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to click on the pages that we want to see. Wonder if that's possible ;)

Yes, there should definitly be a "Back | Reverse | Post Reply" at the top and the bottom along with the page numbers. I also nominate for a profile setting that will have the threads sorted ascending or decending for a particular user. You should make it default to decending for those used to other forums but many of us have come to like the 'Gendou way' of ascending. |
