Level ups!

| Hi, it's been a while I have first registered at this website. I read the FAqs about level up. It's seem to me that my level (lv 6) never seemed to go up even no matter how much I've visited(almost everyday) and how much I've posted my message in the forum (around 8 or so). So, do tell me what is the reason to this problem? |

| Please I've read it so many times and I find it as a problem. You said that my level can be increased by the number of time that I've visited this website and how many times I've posted in the forum. Now, do tell me seriously! |

Have you set it so you're automatically logged in when you visit? I believe in the faqs it states that level ups are updated once you log in so if you're always logged in it doesn't update. Try logging out then back in to see if it updates. It worked for me. Oh it has nothing to do with the number of times you visit the site so don't try sitting around and refreshing the page all day. Edit- DOLLARS_DONATED + log_base_2(FORUM_ENTRIES + 1) + natural_log(DAYS_OLD) + (UPLOAD_POINTS / 10) + MERIT_POINTS If you're confused with the equation than just look at it section by section. The fastest way to level up is donating. You go up 1 level for every dollar donated. Donate $9999, and you go up 9999 levels. You go up a level for every time your post count doubles on the forums. I believe you go up one level on your first post! From there on the pattern is 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 etc. Natural_log(DAYS_OLD) or level up day is confusing for people who don't know much of math. As stated in the faqs the level up days are 3, 8, 21, 60... If you have a scientific calculator punch in the "ln" button then the numbers mentioned and you should see a pattern. I think that's the way it works but in any case, it's not a very fast way to level up at all. Basically you level up by how long (in days) you've been a part of this site. This is probably where you are mistaking it for the number of times you visit the site. Upload points/10 basically means you level up for every 10 good songs you upload on the site as you receive 1 point for each good song you upload or +1. You can get a -1 too so take note of what you upload making sure it is acceptable. Merit points are given by Gendou and the mods of the forums. You can get a +1 to your level for being helpful or even a -1 to your level for doing something stupid. The decision is up to them so don't beg for merit points and just be helpful to the community. That should help explain it, it's already in the faqs under the forum tab but again Level-ups are given when you login! So try that first. |

Good idea synai! But, i, too, thought of this. When you visit gendou.com after having left for over 15 minutes, your PHP session is destroyed. The "remember me" button automatically preforms a login() function when to create a new session. At this time, your level is updated. So, in other words, it is updated daily.

so your saying every day you come on and hang out and post and such you get a point? I think the day one is broken :P I come on every day-every other day and my level rarely goes up.

| No no for post counts I thought it was explained well (one level up for every time your post count doubles). Visiting the site everyday doesn't give you points. You're confusing the natural log(days old) part. It's referring to the number of days since you've registered. So you go up one level 3 days after registering, 8 days after registering, 21 days after registering, 60 days after registering, (I think next one is 150) but the number continues to get higher and farther apart so simply joining gendou.com and doing nothing but downloading songs won't get you to a high level any time soon. So initially, that's roughly 2 months to go up 4 levels, then 90 days after (150-60 so roughly 3 months later) to go up another level. I may have goofed somewhere so feel free to correct me but that's how the natural log(days old) part functions (at least how I think it does). |

The absolute best way is to make donations. See, I've gotten 20 levels from donations XD The next best way... would either be posting or uploading. It depends on how much you can upload and how much others upload the songs. I prefer posting because (for some strange, odd reason) I feel guilty uploading... Unless I legally own the song, that is.  |

| Oh boy, I guess so. But I wonder would anyone willing enough to read the Faqs. Whatever it is, I'll just log on as long and as many as I can (If I've the time) and download my favourite songs. |
