Compy Help
|
Okay. So my computer broke down. I can't seem to find whats wrong. My hard drive is fine. My computer turns on... but... nothing happens... it just turns on... nothing happens... I can't open the CD drive... and... the moniter doesn't even turn on. If anyone can give me a clue to this vague description of a problem then thank you. If not then oh well. P.S. A computer BIOS may have been changed somewhere right before this occured EDIT:::: Thanks for the sugestions. Still not fixed... and nothing worked... Moniter is not the problem, it just doesn't display anything not that it doesn't turn on. Not sure how the CMOS would be reset but when I switched it to reset... nothing happened with a power on... (No sounds. No display. CD drive doen't open. Clear CMOS jumper on normal). (No reatcion. Clear CMOS jumper on clear CMOS). (Re-assembly does nothing. Same results.) (Hard drive was already re-formatted. Windows already Reinstalled. This was done with another computer). ![]() |

i'm not sure what's really wrong, but it's similar to what's happened to my comp a couple of times. it was able to turn it on, also the monitor, but then it wouldn't start up windows or anything. i then took it back to best buy and found out i had to have my hard drive replaced. twice. =( |

I WISH it was my hard drive.. but I'm using my hard drive on this computer right now... re-formatted and all... maybe it needs a totally different hard drive ~.~ ![]() |

It sounds like your BIOS is screwed o,r at least, some component of your motherboard. Replacing it SHOULD fix the problem, however that is assuming that pushing the power button at least makes the fans turn on inside your case. If absolutly nothing happens when you try to power on, you may need to replace your power supply. |

It comes on... the fan and all... just... I can't seem to reset the BIOS so I think I will need a new mother board... Thanks for... er... clearing things up? XP ![]() |
