Question about the conventional anime openings

Why oh why do they feature spoilers in the openings of their own anime?
Ex. Elfen Lied.

Because it's cooler that way. They can have more stuff in the opening and ending. That's why you do what I do; skip the opening and ending until after a new one comes, then go back an episode and watch it then.

I guess they do that to capture your interest. I guess it causes you to be curious about what's really happening. And then makes you want to watch the episodes just to see those very scenes that you saw in the opening scenes.

i agree with destinygirl "I guess they do that to capture your interest."-quote

whatever reasons they have i'm sure those producers want's to have many watchers as possible, it works most of the time doesn't it?

But... does elfen lied shows any spoilers in the opening? I think the opening scene doesn't show anything related to the story...
