Why do u like anime?

Im kinda doing a short survey for my school project and i guess i could rely on the ppl here for help =P Aniwae the question is.. Why do u watch, love and favour anime? As in why choose anime over other type of shows kind of thing.. I got some answers like good storyline and stuff like that but i guess what i was really looking for was an impactful answer.. lol.. If possible reply with your country of origin attached.. Therefore i got strong proof that anime is watched and loved by ppl all over the world!! =D thanx in advance!  |

Well my parents are from china but i was born here in the us. I have always liked catoons but when i found out about anime i basically realized that i had grown out cartoons and needed something better. I really don't know why i like it maybe its because its sooooooooooooooo cool. I really don't have an answer but if i had to i would say that its a hobby that i just can't get rid or becasue i love it sooooo much. Maybe that didn't come out right but its really hard to explain, especiallly if you been up for like 30 hours without sleep. XD Soeey but thats the best explaination i can come up with sorry. | oh can i answer mine?? i dont think its anything to do with where i live (australia) or were i was born (bahrain). i started loving it because of the story behind it all. the imagination and fantasy in it lol i guess ive always wanted to be more then just a normal human. and anime can go as far as your willing to take it, but realy life has to many rules your bound to >.< |

Anime for me defined escapism in every sense. I loved that eventhough most anime's belong to a distinctive classification - it still feels like its boundless and goes beyond the stereotype its in. Its almost defying and challenging the norms all the time. Angels can be Monsters (ex. Evangelion), Demons can be Angelic (ex. Chronno Crusade) - paradoxies are an expected criteria. It can be beautiful, cute, artistic, humanistic, sickening, blasphemous, intoxicating, touching, gut wrenching, profane, violent, obscene, explicit, sexy, funny, annoying, empathy enducing, inpsiring, philosophical, fan serviced, sweet, educational, liberating all at the same time...... It has something for everyone - whatever takes your fancy, whichever way you swing... Some anime can be classified as art - art imitates life and vice versa. I personally become a fan of a character that I can relate to, or lust after, or hope to be someone like... and in anime they make it easy for you to do so. Anime is the only genre where you would be fully understood when you say you absolutely love a specific villain...... At the very least it was also a vehicle for an explorative look at human frailities without risks - even the darkest pits of human depravity(Im talking about the unmentionables like hentai, yaoi, yuri etc etc) yet in animated form they seem much more harmless than the real thing (not that I watch these things but it is part of Anime as a culture....) |

the plot,drawing,animation the voices of the charactors.and they have comedy that's much better than cartoons.you can see parodies and even animes originating from book^^ also,it gives me ideas for what to do in projects or when i have to write an essay or a short story.and we can learn some japanese along the way too :p |

The lack of reality. There, you can make people grow 6 arms, 4 legs, so on. Also, it gives me an idea in my head (I still have it). |

I'm in the U.S Why do I watch and favor anime? Not much to say about it except that I watch anime because it's cool and also it's "ANIMATION" anything is possible and duable which makes you think, "What's going to happen next?" Creators take reality films and take them beyond the limits and make them into animation to make things much more intersting and creative. |

There are multiple explanations I could offer as to why I LOVE anime. One, Western culture disgusts me and I've grown weary of it. Two, I love cartoons. I will always love cartoons. Three, the action, adventure, magic, romance, cool characters. Four, I kinda wished I could join them. Maybe then my life wouldn't be so monotonous |

tht has got to be teh sto0pidest question in the world... i love anime cos westrn cartoons suck B*LLS i love anime cos its funny i love anime cos its got meaning to it i love anime cos its cool i love anime cos its captivating i love anime cos its ANIME!!! YEAH!!! btw hope u'r project goes well n sry for burnin u there but it is kinda sto0pid to ask y ppl liek anime...^^

wahaha... thanx guys! i knew i could rely on you guys... aniwae stoned azn somehow i agree with you that it's a stupid question... however to score well, i hav to get down low and be stupid... haha.. hope my jap teacher accepts all of your comments or else im dead.. i like animes because it makes me happy and full of joy.. and every time i watch it it makes me feel all warm inside plus its meaningful... thats the main reasons why i like animes hehe

I like Anime 'cuz it is a break from the horrible stuff you hear on the news. Also it takes you to another land jsut like dreams and stuff. It is also funny, and makes you happy! ^_^ Anime is jsut great all around.

This is from Utah, USA I like anime because: 1: I like the big eyes ^_^ 2: Anime has more facial expressions and such to make things funnier 3: Instead of having good vs. evil, like it nearly always is in other shows and cartoons, anime deals more with 2 sides fighting that are both good and both bad, and ends up dealing with death and who's doing the right thing and such. 4: It's entirely possible that the ending won't be happy like you want it 5: It gives you insight on how Japanese do stuff ^_^  |

i love anime! every now and then i draw anime( okay i draw everyday) and i can't help it. anime looks so cute specially whan they are in sd form NOTE: ginji amano in sd..

I like anime coz it's funny, the exaggerations are kawaii & not annoying, And most of all... the drawings are so cute.. It would be nice if the people in the real world are anime  |
