For Dreamers:Practical career or Dream career?

I'm a guy whose dreaming that someday that i will a famous writer & director in film & animation industry in hollywood or outside the country, i'm also dreaming that i'll have a salary of 7 to 8 digits because of these dreams of mine. Now being in that kind of position in the Phillippines means it's really impossible to achieve because the economy. And art is not really faithful to money,also there's also a possibility that ill end up eating oatmeals for the rest of my life. It's not that im not confident with my talent,it's just im scared of the starvation and poverty because of art. That's why i'm thinking that i'll choose a practical career which is engineering. The hard part is being felt so bad because i have already written many stories & film flicks and i have to throw it all away... so... what do you choose?

Screw practical, work your way up with the type of job you want. They can't pay you nothing. You may not make it to the big boss area, but you could still be in the industry you want making your contribute. And you could enjoy your work all the more.  Jomunga eats your avatars. |

I'm one of those people that doesn't plan too much on what job I'll have, so I plan for a bad one. I could mostly live on ramen and cereal, although I would need some real nutrition every once in a while. For all I know, I could be the head producer in a huge anime company, getting thousands a week, or I could be getting minimum wage on a part-time job. I plan for the worst, though I hope for the best... I'll get whatever's convenient for me ^_^  |

Wow that's a very nice dream but you know the option is still getting rich in what you love to do but in some circumstances it's really hard... :)

| I have stars to jump for. My dream is to either become a Free Safety in the NFL or sprint on the US Olympic team. It's possible as long as I try hard enough. Unfortunately, I'm probably going to become an engineer or a pharmicist. |

| I wanna just travel, see the world through walking not flying. ( Unless i'm traveling to another continent). I would be a loner traveler who would get money finding any gig in town. Realisticly I will probably get some lowradar job as a office worker. As long as the job is quiet I would probably take it. |

I started out practical. Air force flyer with a degree in engineering. I am now a in my dream job. Wilderness guide and Tribal-ranger. Rin started out as a housewife then got a degree in geology and now teaches community college.  |

There's nothing wrong with dreaming about the job that you really, really want, being scared about your future OR being practical because that's perfectly normal. But fact is, reality's a bitch and we can do nothing but face it. If your chosen career clashes with your country's economic problems, then you shouldn't probably pursue it. After all, it would do you no good if you're working in the field that you're happiest with, but at the same time, endlessly worrying if you'd get to eat three times a day. In that case, you wouldn't really benefit, regardless if you're happy with your job or not. Believe me, I've known some relatives who are having financial problems because of their career choices. (Erm...hopefully I won't sound *that* discouraging..) Or if you're really determined and hardworking enough, you could pursue that practical career you have in mind, and when you're successful, you would be safe to continue your dream job, perhaps as a sideline. Awww, hell..I'm probably not making any sense... >_< Heh. Sorry. |

I want to make the best videogames out there and shed some light on the US. Instead of Japan getting all the good games. ;_; Stupid US censors and stupid.....(on and on and on......) anyway, basically, I want to make the BEST GA DANGED video games out there but from the US.

Please do Sero, the video game market is doing nothing but disappointing me recently. I also notice that I haven't seen you before today, Sero. Anyways I think you and I will get along great we seem to agree on everything. My dream job is to run a little store with my wife. Something cozy, life a cake cafe(Tokyo Mew Mew style) or stuffed animal store(Card Captor Sakura style). A place where good bug loving kids gather(Digi Charat style) Jomunga eats your avatars. |

| Go to Savanna College of Art and Design if you want to become a video game designer. You are garanteed a job if you go there. |

IM an MBA major at collage, this means I will also be studying investment banking, my dream carreer is to be the head CEO of a major investment banking company. WITH a big office that has a wonderfull view, a sweet 8 to 9 figer saliry. BECAUSE as we all know with big money, comes big power.
