I've heard that you can customize your desktop... I'd really want to, if someone know how! If you know of a site that has something that can do that (active desktop...?), preferably free, let me know! PS: This isn't against the rules, is it? That "Where can I find..." thing is for music only, or am I wrong? Thanks if you reply! |

What exactly do you mean by "customize your desktop"? If you mean by changing the look of windows by putting a skin over them and just changing the look then I think you'd like WindowsBlinds. I think it's free....I know you can find it online easily though.

By customize my desktop, I mean like change the way it works. make it so that things are not the way they are supposed to be, as in hiding buttons inside your wallpaper so that you click your wallpaper instead of buttons and stuff. I think I tried WindowsBlinds, and it just screwed up my computer... |

hmmmm.......well to hide buttons in the wallpaper (having done this before) I just segment my backgroung pic turn off the text for the shortcut and make the icon the segment of the background where it's placed....just to hide certain desktop things...hehe... But I've never run into any problems with windowsblinds before....well, when I used it. Now I've edited some of the animations for closing windows and stuff manually (whenever I click X on a window, a chibby Wing Zero pops up and fires a buster rifle to destroy the window). If you want I can show you a few tricks like that....I think I still have some of my reference files for that stuff somewhere....

It would probably be easiest to email it too you since it requires some wierd file editing. There's one windows file you need to change (that isn't a system required one anyway,) so it will reference the animation, which is separate. The program I originally got the idea from and built from you can't download anymore, and I don't have a web server like gendou to post it on! lol! I've got three choices for animations: 1) Wing Zero 2) Battle Prorammer Shirase (the window distorts into hex like in the series and the little rabbit appears and disappears, it's funny if you've seen the series) 3) Master Chief shooting the window off the screen as pieces break off with a gattling gun I'm working on an Elfen Lied one, where the window gets chopped to pieces by Lucy or Nana (it chooses randomly) and BLOOD GUSHES OUT as it falls off the screen. It's so cute! :P hehehe... Making shortcuts into the backgroung though is much easier. First you find the section of the background where you want the icon to go, and cut a copy of the background image into a 32 pixel by 32 pixel segment and save it as a GIF image. Then, rename the file extension with a .ico extension instead of .gif and set the shortcut's icon as that image, and finally open the properties of the shortcut and turn off the text or rename it with spaces so there aren't letters if your windows allows it. Another evil thing you could do to confuse people is rename shortcuts as other ones and switch icons like my brother does (My Computer leads to Network Neighborhood, My Documents leads to Recycle Bin, etc.). But unfortunately I don't know of any other way to send the window closing animations.....do you use AIM or trillian or some IM? By the way, Ah! My Goddess rules!

I got Skype and MSN Messenger. I'll let you pick whatever one you feel like, even if I don't have it, because you are the mighty h4x0rz!!1! How do you get rid of the little arrow in the corner that lets you know it's a shortcut? Master Chief owns. If only it was an orange Elite with a Carbine... |

Orange elite with a carbine? is that your profile on XBL or something? Anywho, my username on trillian/AIM is sagara117, I think AIM is compatible with MSN messenger....or maybe skype.....I dunno, it's just it would probably be better to use an IM program to send it through. I don't use MSN messenger, does it support file transfers? and do you know if it really works with AIM, cause I don't care to make another username/profile for a thing I'm only going to use about once or twice a month. I'm not online much at home (I'm posting this from my 7:00 class at school) but when I am I usually am logged into either Trillian/AIM or Googletalk or both. What's your username?

My ID on Skype and MSN Messenger is S-a-c-h-i-e-l or s-a-c-h-i-e-l@mail.com. And I'm on whenever, usually around 10:00 to 12:00 am, but I'm on multiple times a day. On Halo 2, my appearance is an orange and black Elite, and I love Carbines ^_^ |

Two things. One, I have actually tried to make an EVA one once, it was of Unit 02 (my favorite) running toward the window with an N2 mine, but the problem was, I had created it to run across the startbar to the window, but it would glitch whenever the window wasn't overlaping the bottom start bar. Two, Which one do you want? (I have 56k DONT MAKE FUN OF ME!!! and I don't want to have to send 3 or 4 megs of files when that means it'll take about 30 or so minutes to send (since upload is slower than download). 1) Wing Zero 2) Battle Prorammer Shirase (the window distorts into hex like in the series and the little rabbit appears and disappears, it's funny if you've seen the series) 3) Master Chief shooting the window off the screen as pieces break off with a gattling gun and I forgot to post about this one, 4) My newest one, Freedom Gundam....it has the X10A fly up next to the window, show about 12 crosshairs show up at random spots spaced across the window, and fire all his guns at once blowing it to smithereens....it eats about 2% more CPU cycles than all the rest though... My Elfen Lied one is almost finished.... I just checked out that tgtsoft site, and I must say, that's a pretty useful tool if you know what you're doing. You might really want to look into it S-a-c-h-i-e-l. P/s: Does your name have anything to do with the third angel from EVA by any chance? (Sachiel is the name of the third angel) My Halo profile is a sage-colored MC with a yellow and red drone symbol.

Grrrr.....annoying MSN messenger..... sorry it's taking me so long to get back to you, but I spent around an hour and a half last night trying to wade through the primordial soup that is the MSN messenger to get it to work since I haven't used it in years....(not exaggerating). After about an hour of messing around with it going all over the place I was finally able to get it to work through Trillian. Then, when I tried to send you a message (does yours have an email account attached to it?) through the mini outlook window thing that MSN uses, and I typed in s-a-c-h-i-e-l@hotmail.com and tried to send, but for some reason or another it wouldn't work. After that I got frustrated and had to stop before I....I ABHORE MICROSOFT!!! Anyway, I can still talk to you in MSN Messenger when you're on, I just can't send email through it, I'll talk to you about it next time you're on. Sorry about all this trouble.... PS: the elite, although its heads target area is actually bigger (making head shots easier on them), they look a lot cooler than the bland Halo 2 MC. Good for choosing style!

It actually counts as their head being bigger!? I knew it looked bigger, but I figured they did something to balance it... And my email's s-a-c-h-i-e-l@mail.com... :P |
