| I love AC but I'm really sick of people calling it the best thing out there. People who say all the characters are godly kinda sickens me. Like when ever my friends are debating who would beat who in a fight amoung different anime characters someone always say an AC character. I drives me nuts. Or when people just go on and on about AC. SORRY if this sounds $#R$@# but I have to get it out. I do enjoy it but calm down people please and stop calling it godly especially those fans that didn't even know much about or played FFVII before and basing everything they like off of that. I know there are people out there like that. Also if there is anyone out there like me who thinks this write something. Also those who think about cursing me out listen to this I saw the movie loved it waited like everybody else eagarly for it and loved ever minute of its CG glory but I'm just tired of people drooling over it. That's all. |

I understand where you're coming from anime-chan0083 and i know how you feel.However you have to understand where all this is coming from....if you read the threads about fave games...RPGs...characters...alot of them will have FF VII as their favorites.There has been 4-5 great FF games before VII but cause of the hype by Sony and Square (remember all those commercials that aired before the game was launched) those other FF games are forgotten...unless you're a diehard RPG fan like yours truly.FF VII was the first 3D FF game...it had memorable characters that are LOVED...and has one of the most shocking moments in game history. To alot of people FF VII is the game that changed their views about RPGs....do you think those same people would have played a RPG if it wasn't for VII....i doubt it.Back then you had to be a fan of the genre to play them....but cause of FF VII things are different.Am i right? or am i wrong? Another thing and this is just my opinion....Do you think that Square would merge with Enix if it hadn't been for the "Spirits Within" debacle?...or if the "Father of FF" Mr.Sakaguchi-san would leave to create his own company?They needed to recover from the losses that "Spirits" created...so since FF VII was left wide open at the end and it's argubably the most popular FF game ever made...probably will be for a long time...why not milk it even more?Granted i love FF VII (pre-ordered the dub version...NOV 29...save your money kiddies) don't get me wrong but If and When there is a remake then believe me anime-chan0083 things will get even more crazy. You may disagree and i have no problems with it...this is just my opinion and you guys & gals & zombies are entitled to yours.  |

I have to agree; While I loved Advent Children, and it is an incredible portrayal of the FF7 characters, people do drool over it a bit much... I feel that anyone who ever played a Final Fantasy should see it, but I wouldn't start that "Cloud/etc.. would always win in a fight" stuff... I must admit that it portrays them as almost godlike in level & power, so I can see why people instantly think of that Cloud/etc... at that level of power when they start these "x vs. y" contests... Sidenote: I am one of those few who *loved* the Spirits Within film! It might not have been traditional Final Fantasy, but it kept the proverbial "spirit" of the Games plots... Though they did lose a fair amount of money over it, considering how it didn't do so well :( |

| I am glad to say I have seen FF VII AC, yet have unfortunately not played the game, thus I could not base my liking off of that. I understand and agree that all the hype is a little unneccessary, and quite annoying! My parents hate video games, and I only fortunately recieved a free Dreamcast and have a SNES emulator with FFIII and FFV, but cannot start from a saved game. I do wish that I have played the FF games, and the CG in AC are quite awesome, but I rarely find myself comparing anything to it (basically because there is nothing comparable, not to say that it is godly) |

AC wasn't that well made anyway, the story lacked substantial backing, and many background information about the different characters were not sufficient.

AC to some degree was an anime, the hairstyles, the totally unrealistic for the sake of action and coolness physics, the oversized swords wielded by people only 2/3 their size....sounds like traits of a stereotypical anime to me. Although the plot didn't have as much emphasis as it should have. You could watch it without paying attention to the plot and still like it.... (I like plot otherwise I'd watch crappy American movies all the time) The action was cool though, since from 30 minutes in and on it was just one continuous action sequence to the next, and THAT was awesome.

I like the show but too much action on cloud and the others not doing much action like fight...... Specailly Yuffie Vincent I LIKE THEY BOTH SOOO MUCH but not much action T.T At least this is much way damn better than Final Fantasy the Spirit Within THAT SHOW IS SUCH A CRAPPY STARSHIP TROOPER STYLE X.x |

Too much fighting, less explanation. Can't they just make it a full 2 hours movie? One and a half hours are not enough to explain all of the mysteries.

FF7 AC is meant to be a fun action movie... those who want a deeper plot or haven't played the PSX game shouldn't be watching it as a standalone movie... that would be like trying to watch Revenge of the Sith without having watched the two preceding prequels and the original trilogy... OF COURSE it's gonna suck, coz you don't get it... Watching Advent Children was a lot like watching Starship Troopers... not much for plot, but it's a hell of a fun movie. Those who want engaging, thought-provoking plotlines should stick with Studio Ghibli stuff. - T |

no manthe movie IS STILL enjoyable even if you have not played the game...it just makes a few questions that if interested in knowing should play the game...heck some of my friends even became ff7 fans because of the movie... as for my rant...barret looked like the (gay?)mexican from anger management(the one with the dreadlocks) |
