Mystery of the mind

I personally believe that you can become smarter just by sitting nd thinking very hard on impossible questions. I think the buddhists (sp?) did this to achieve enlightenment. I dont know if I hvae achieved enlightenment yet but I do know that I feel much the wiser after each "session" of this intense thinking. What are all of your thoughts on the matter?

i usually think of logical questions that have an illogical answer, but thats only when im high or shrooming. the drugs release the thoughts for me to play with. it's just damn hard to remember them unless i record myself speaking them

I never even thought about it, but it would make sense that you would get smarter by thinking.

One gets smarter by toying with ideas, by creating things in your mind and you may be right thinking on impossible questions way make you fell beter.

i can't fully comprehend what you're attempting to say. maybe it's the wording. What I do know is that humans are curious beings and it's good that we are but how we use the knowledge obtained in not always so pretty.

It is proven that you can become more intelligent by contemplating problems. A study was done with athletes. Half the athletes went out and practiced, while the other half sat down and thought about playing sports. The athletes that thought about doing the sports did improve, though not nearly as much as the ones that actually practiced.

haha.. member engineer's entry seems like either the practiced one and the thinking one were improved.. well yah. somepleople said that the group who only have thought improved.

ok... what's the meaning of being smarter? or.. more intelligent?
it's kind of know ing more stuff. how can we get better grade on test? and on report card? we need to do what they ask us to do.
think. once you think about it and meet and face it, we will get experienced about the matters and facts. and it seems like we are smarter..

eh... tag. life is hairy.

I believe that the meaning of being smart has little to do with whether or not you can score well on tests. Alot of people do not learn well in specific environments but that does not mean they are any less intelligent then someone who scores spectacularly. Some of the smartest people I know have straight C's and lower. I think that the way you see life and your understanding of the world show how smart you really are.

School means nothing! I have had 2 terms off this year, I NEVER touch homework, I have done one assignment, I don't study and I am still top in all my classes.(year8) All I do is pursue what intrests me. I really have no idea how I got to be smart I just always have been. Please note I AM NOT BRAGING! I Play around with mysteries and ideas constantly, right now I am playing around with the idea of perpetual motion.
