Ok, On my Fathers PC,{run by DSL SBC Yahoo} when I click a music link it opens up in a new window and plays perfectly,but on MY PC{earthlink dail up..damn him ><} this box pops up saying "would you like to save or open this file?" and I dont want that! ;-; I want it to play like it does on my dads PC. What does my dads PC have that I need? or whatever. Im not really sure If I know what Im talking about -_- or if you will ;-; Thankyou for you r help |

you could just choose to open up the file and when it finishes downloading it'll play on your default music player.     |

yes I know,Im impatient ^^; but,the dowloading time says an hour to two hours sometimes thats not fair ;-; It was wonderful listening to music after music freely no time wasted dowloading ;-; |

There HAS to be a better way right?! ;-; Someone told me to get rid of Exlorer or w/e ><..but I wouldnt know how/ want to mess with that.. |

Well, you could tell it to always open .mp3 files, instead of having it ask you every time if you want to open it or save it, but that won't really help the underlying problem... There's no pratical way on Dial-Up to have a music file play instantly, really... Sounds like your father's PC just plays the file, while yours asks if you want to open it or save it first, which, again, could be changed, but it's kind of irrelavent, because the reason he's *able* to click & play it, is because when you click on it, behind the scenes, it is downloading it to a temp folder (most likely) and then playing it. On Dial-Up, you'd still have to wait the hour-2 hours for it to download to the temp folder and play. It's not like "streaming" audio (which will sort-of "read-ahead", and stay on...), so there's really no way around the concept of downloading the file, whether it happens behind the scenes or on command... You will have to wait for the file to be "downloaded" either way... (At least with choosing to download it on your PC, you have the file when your finished, as opposed to having to find it in some temp folder if you want to keep the file...) |

it sounds like your dad's computer is using internet explorer's built in media player sidebar to play any media links, while your dialup compy is set to download any links that aren't to webpages or pictures. |

when u are using dial up u MUST download it first then listen to the music if u cant wait that long then tell ur dad to use his com (maybe bad idea) or better yet share da connection speed of the DSL from ur dad to ur com i think dats possible but i dont know what type of wire u should use or where to plug it in...... any ways i only have a dial up to and sometimes i have to wait 5! hours to download 1 song....hmmm...i wonder if this is da reason i became a patient guy...hmmm....
