Character Sheet

Gusts [Author Note: Discussing this idea with others]:

Gusts are events that will happen throughout the story that will have an impact either on the story itself or the characters ability to interact with the world. A warning will be provided when a Gust is occurring and which group or characters are involved in it.

An example would be the group having to decide which known Ruins location to go to. One is located in Kingdom territory and is larger (offering greater exploration/chance of events occurring) while one is located in Lucine territory but is smaller and isn't guarded. Deciding to go to the Kingdom set of ruins could offer a better chance at rewards or interesting things happening, but doing so would also irritate the Kingdom and make the soldiers more hostile towards the group in the future. The Lucine ruins would be safer, but may not be as interesting.

Rules:
-All 'RP Master's Guide to RP'ing' rules apply.

-Characters will be limited to 1 Main Character and 1 Side Character at max. Main characters can be fighters and have skills/abilities, but Side Characters can only act in a supporting role and cannot possess special abilities. The limit is mostly to keep the group size down while encouraging people to interact with other member characters instead of simply having dialog between their own characters.

-Love is welcomed, but do not post anything explicit.

-As stated above, Avirian characters are now allowed, but they will not be able to use any superhuman abilities. They are also physically weaker than the people of Aigle, so keep that in mind. The main benefit to an Avirian character however is that they are better marksman than Aigle characters (Who have no experience with guns at all).

-Anil-based weapons are available to use in this RP and possess the ability to cut through armor and even most weapons, but the major downside is that Abilities cannot be used on them. This does not interfere with bodily abilities, but Anil-based weapons will be completely unaffected by other kinds of abilities. They cannot disappear, melt, change form, shoot blade beams, or anything of that nature (Even if the user of said weapon does). So if your character can melt into water, expect the Anil weapon to fall harmlessly to the ground. These restrictions have to be in place due to the nature of Anil weapons and are of more use to Avirian characters than Aigle characters.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Miranda 'Mira' Walker

Age: 26 (23 in UtPBS1 and 2)

Gender: Female

Nationality: Daedalos

Status:
Tempest (Aigle's Gale Guild Member)

Weapon: Orphan Scythe (Similar to this, although not curved downward as much). A modified scythe Miranda obtained from the Orphans of Avira during their last meeting. The Orphans added a mechanism which allows Miranda to fold the blade of the scythe down, turning the scythe into a makeshift halberd.

Attacks:
Shockwave III - By concentrating her energy, Miranda is able to launch shockwaves from her weapon by swinging it (Attack flies forward at the same angle that the weapon was swung). The shockwaves can be widened to act as a shield, but this causes them to lose their damage potential. If a shockwave is widened into a shield, Miranda is able to manipulate it until it is broken by an attack.

Reaper III - Miranda's scythe disappears from her hands. Her scythe briefly appears near the opponent and mimics the attacks that she visualizes in her head.

Neko Step III - Miranda is able to jump high into the air and land safely from high falls, so long as she is able to land on her feet. She is capable of carrying a full grown person with her while jumping or landing.

Appearance: Photobucket
She normally wears a dark red sleeveless shirt and long cape of the same color.

Personality: Miranda is adventurous and lighthearted, despite her cold and serious appearance. She is also a little bit of a thrill seeker which results in her getting tied up in dangerous situations quite often. She loves to relax in grassy fields whenever possible, and loves the ocean, but is afraid of tight spaces because it prevents her from using her scythe and leaves her defenceless.

Name: Ezio (Deceased)
Age: 12 (in UtPBS1 and 2)
Gender: Male
Nationality: Avira
Weapon: Varies
Abilities/Attacks: Copy-Cat (Copies the abilities of people he is around for a certain length of time. How he does this as well as the length of time needed to copy the abilities is still unknown, but for some reason he has been unable to copy Miranda's and Excellen's abilities.
Appearance: Photobucket

Bio:
Basic - Ezio is a young boy from Avira. He was found fleeing from a group of men in the marketplace of an Imeldan city. He was wearing tattered Avirian clothing and carried a small pouch, a poster with the Aigle's Gale Guild emblem on it, and a small glass pendant filled with an odd powder.

Ezio has since revealed himself to be one of the main conspirators in the execution of King Oswell by his people. He is also shown to be much more intelligent than he originally let on. He now acts as the de facto leader of Imelda, even having more control over the country than his fellow children.

So far, he is the only Child of Avira to possess any superhuman abilities. He has somehow managed to copy the abilities of the warriors that assisted him in his escape from a prison and eventual return to Avira. Due to this, he is exceptionally dangerous despite his age and Avirian heritage.

He was killed during the infiltration of Imelda to recapture Eric.

Name: Joe (real name is unknown)

Age: Unknown, but looks to be 17-20 years old.

Gender: Male

Status: N/A

Nationality: Unknown

Weapon: His body

Abilities/Attacks:

1. [Weakened] Reinforcement- All of Joe's attributes (speed, strength, senses, etc.) are passively raised to high levels, with a focus on physical strength and defense. His body becomes strong as armor, while his legs and hands can match even most weapons. Strangely enough, this ability is extended to his plain clothing and shoes as well (but not armor or weapons). However, he is unable to make his reinforcement any stronger; that is, he can't temporarily gain even more power by willing it (although in long fights, a blue aura will eventually surface. This merely indicates he is reaching his limits in regards to stamina, although it could intimidate opponents. A blue aura won't appear if he is instantly taken out though). On the plus side, it doesn't take any additional energy or active thought on his part to maintain Reinforcement. In addition, it is strong enough to match and even surpass some active abilities/skills that focus on strengthening the user. The strength and diversity of this ability is enough to be considered as two abilities.

Because of reasons (or a reason) still unknown, Joe's Reinforcement was weakened at one point. He is still stronger than the average soldier, but no longer displays his once overwhelming power.

2. Unknown Martial Arts Mastery- Joe is deadly in close combat, even against armed opponents. His martial arts is unknown to the world of Aigle, making his moves hard to predict on a first encounter. If given an opportunity, he is able to disarm opponents and execute devastating combos.

Appearance: Photobucket

Lost his left arm in one of the battles leading up to Ezio's fight. Only a small stump remains.

Personality: Relatively neutral and calm personality; he's not a stickler to rules, but he doesn't cause wanton chaos either. He is usually hard to provoke.

Character Sheet

Name: Liel Sterling (Vanguard)
Age: 27 (previously 24 in S1/S2)
Gender: F
Status: Ex-Tempest (Aigle's Gale Guild member). Currently a tailor in Daedalos.
Nationality: Imelda (currently Kingdom of Avira)

Weapon:

-> Einhänder

A longsword made of modified alloy formulated by the Avirian blacksmiths in Daedalos. It has a distinctive black steel finish and Avirian design, with a stainless hilt. It is light enough to be wield with one hand, and if the user requires more power, it can be used with both hands, while retaining good control and performance. A gift given by the Orphans of Avira during their last meeting for her effort while supporting the Orphans alongside with Miranda.

Abilities/Attacks:

-> Sonic Arrow

Liel musters her strength and swings her longsword in one circle, creating a circular, disc shaped projectile that travels with a medium speed that can cut through unarmored enemies. Upon hitting a hard object such as stone walls, the projectile will dissipate harmlessly, but able to pierce through wooden objects. Wind element.

-> Berserker

An evolved skill from Reaver. Liel can voluntarily activate the skill and receive the same strength and endurance boost from the Reaver skill without getting herself severely or mortally wounded. When the skill is activated however, she will be in a state of berserk, charging into the battlefield mindlessly, and sometimes mistaken her allies as enemies as well.

The skill lasts for a short moment of time. Afterwards, Liel will not have any recollection or memories during the moment she was in Berserker state.

-> Minor Regeneration

Liel does a simple healing magic to herself and others. As she is barely proficient in this skill, Liel is only able to heal minor and medium injuries. Severe and life threatening wounds require a healer or first aid measures to be cured.

Appearance: [Show]

Personality: Liel is much more open to everyone and optimist than the last 3 years ago, when she was working alongside with the Orphans of Avira and Miranda Walker. Yet, she still bears the guilt that she was responsible for Avira's Fall. Nevertheless, Liel tries her best to move on and start a new chapter in her life.

Bio

After Ezio was killed, Leila Rune, who was an Avirian working under Daedalos Military as a scout for the Aigle's Gale Guild's expedition to Hala, got her revenge and went to her own ways. It was rumored that she assisted the Orphans from time to time, whenever possible or upon request. When Miranda left Excellen to the Orphans of Avira, Liel decided that it is time to a break as a mercenary, and she broke off from the Orphans, before subsequently retiring as a Tempest, and settled in Daedalos, continuing her previous occupation as a tailor, an occupation that her mother used to be when she was in Imelda, now currently the Kingdom of Avira.

Liel lived peacefully in Daedalos, and her new occupation went pretty smooth. She also paid attention to the news and information between the countries, especially Kingdom of Avira, so that she can prepare herself if the worst arrives.

During her dull, slow moving life, Liel met a man named Vincent Sterling, whom approached her to fix his sister's dress. From there onwards, they both interested with each other, and afterwards, they are a couple. Surprisingly, they did not spent their nights together, although they courted, and Vincent stayed over her shop, helping in her work. Their platonic relationship came to an abrupt end when Vincent disappeared one day, without any signs.

From that day, Liel changed her last name into Vincent's, until she reunites with her family, as he constantly reminded her about her parents...

Tell me if I need to change anything.

Main Character

Name: Agnest Belforma (Formerly Craghaster)

Age: 31

Gender: F

Status: Imeldan/Avarian Baroness

Nationality: Imeldan

Weapon: Great Shark Espada - An exceptionally long rapier that features a jagged edge near the sword's point that causes severe bleeding on the afflicted. Agnest's favorite sword was modified to have a more advanced hand guard, giving her greater protection during sword parry.

Abilities/Attacks:

Magic Collapse B (Guardians' Cage) - A particular school of magic on present day Usha taught that all magic is unstable. This concept would go on to state that the source of this instability is an "Origin Point" from which the phenomena originates. Should this point be struck through, the attack would simply collapse.

Agnest has had more combat experience using this skill than any of her previous practitioners. She can still cancel up to medium strength magics using the skill as she did three years ago, but she has also gained the capacity to perform 'Guardians Cage'. Where she projects Magic Collapse to protect her entire body for a second. This 'burst' is capable of defending Agnest against magic from all sides, and can be used to cancel out magic rated up to 'strong', dissipating the entire magical entity if it comes into contact with the burst. The 'burst' has a 45 second recharge period.

Point Shift B (Point Swipe) - The same particular school of Magic on Usha taught that, Telekinesis is possible for all human beings given that the object to be manipulated in question was familiar to the user. Once successfully "Familiarized", the object can be manipulated to the user's will. In this user's case, it allows for the sword to be moved telekinetically as well as make physically impossible trajectory changes mid-swing.

Point shift allows for a couple of other useful in battle advantages. For example, the user can apply the initial amount of strength needed to slash a sword, but allow "Point Shift" to carry through the attack (allowing the user to last much longer in sword-fights). Agnest proved her skill in Point Swipe when she used it to defect crossbow bolts during the Belforma Coup. At this level, Point Shift accelerates the Speed of Agnest's sword swipes and strikes. Allowing her to attack with her swords at 2x the speed as she did before without any loss of strength. Point Shift B also augments 'Magic Collapse', giving Agnest the speed to cancel out short streams of magic projectiles.

Masterful Legs B (Martial Leg Prowess) - The Pirates of Usha has a sort of love affair with legs. Aside from their aesthetic quality, the art of being able to hold one's own on a rocking ship is an achievement worthy of praise! The user has spent years of their life aboard ships in less than suitable weather for extended periods. As such, they are less susceptible to falling down or losing balance. The user's confidence in their legwork also allows them to perform rather extravagant combat maneuvers and attacks in combat.

Agnest's Time on land gave her legs plenty of exercise. At this level, Agnest is able to utilize her legs in combat with her sword interchangeable, allowing for extended striking combos to be executed. Agnest's running speed is also slightly increased. bringing her to the limits of how fast her feet can physically take her.

Appearance:

Personality: Agnest isn't the tenacious battle seeker she was in her youth. She witnessed, and instigated much death during the campaign to capture her current holdings. The former duelist has mostly settled into her place as an Imeldan Baroness, calmly looking over the various day-to-day issues of her Territory from her Fortified Manor in Belforma (which takes it's name after the territory). Her fierce reputation carries more force than the volume of her voice.

Agnest remains relatively distant to the new Avarian Authorities (Though she has welcomed adapting some of the technological advancements that has began to spread across Imelda). She still maintains strong ties to allies in Usha that takes the form of optomistic Trade between the Domains. Her skills as a Duelist has become the stuff of legend.

Bio: The Baroness of the Belforma Territory in the Kingdom of Imelda (Now Kindom of Avira). She took advantage of the Imeldan Anarchy shortly after the fall of Avira to gain control of the domain. Her understanding of Small Unit Tactics and seaborne raids dealt serious blows to defending forces during the start of the campaign, and ultimately lead Agnest's ascension as effective ruler of the area until Avarian enforcers visited the region.

Agnest was originally a ranking officer in the Blue Confederation of Usha. She was tasked to accompany Spica, an assassin posing as a Blue Confederation Envoy. The due where tasked to assassinate an Avarian by the name of Ezio after the Fall of Avira event had occurred. Through various odds and ends, the group managed to achieve that goal, and afterwards Agnest was given a promotion within the organization, freeing her to make a few decisions of her own. During her trek to assassinate the Avarian, Agnest came to pinpoint the location of her birth-home in Imelda. Her name was partially scratched out, but still legible in a record book for Imeldan Land Barons. Meaning she potentially was supposed have rights over the territory she was born in. Belforma, a rural Coastal Territory in the fringes of Imelda was the territory in question.

Taking advantage of Usha's sea capabilities, and the remoteness of the territory, Agnest and a band of Ushan Marines took over the territory after a bloody three week campaign, as well as a month of securing the territory. By the time official Imeldan Authorities arrives a year after the fall of Imelda, it seemed already established that Agnest was the Baroness of the territory. Since such a far rural territory was not of much worth compared to the populated heartland cities of Imelda, Agnest was merely instructed to keep the 'status quo' and pay tributes to the new rulers.

The past couple of years has seen much development for the Belforma Domain. The region's vast forests created a prosperous Trade route between the two places. While distance and political legacies have discouraged trade between the Continent and Usha in the past, Agnest's ties with Usha was enough for them to take a chance in the investment, especially with the possibility of purchasing lumber from a closer supplier. The small sleepy fishing village is already in the process of becoming a trade port with a substantial Ushan Quarter within the next few years. Some are interested in having Shipyards be built so that ships can be ordered directly from Belforma. Goods from Usha and it's trade connections are also beginning to see Belforma as a potential trade hub for their traded and plundered exotic goods. Indeed, Agnest could see the her domain experience great growth within her lifetime. All of this has fallen beneath the Ruling Avarian's notice. On account that their concerns lie in bigger matters in the cities and beyond the borders of former Imelda. Minor trade with the Ushans isn't something particularly unusual to them.

Much of the administrative duties outside of giving audience to Avarian Officials are put onto Agnest's able subordinates. Agnest has actually continued to be active in combat, she leads her desperately small group of guards to suppress bandit activity within her domain with profound sucess. Agnest simply hoped to turn her new job title into a little getaway from the troubles that continue to cause trouble in the world. But fortune may not be that kind to her.

Regardless, Agnest is wholly convinced that Belforma was of her birthright, and despite the rather violent takeover, she rules with the full intent of having the area see growth and prosperity despite the presence of these dark times.

Side Character

Name: Leticia

Age: 19

Gender:

Status: Kingdom of Avaria Envoy / Aide to Baroness Belforma

Nationality: Avarian

Weapon: Anil Revolver

Appearance:

Personality: A business minded young woman. She was in charge of Avaria's supply chain habits for years prior to the Fall of Avaria. Despite turning older, she kept detailed notes on the day-to-day operations of Aviria's trade industry. She is very nitpicky and detail oriented with a penchant for being a bit of a slave driver. But these traits have made her one of Agnest's more important subordinates. She dreams of turning Belfoma into a thriving trade hub someday. Greater than the trademarks she was ousted from as she grew older.

She is weary of the war fervor that seems to have come over the Children of Avira. Though she is tasked with reporting the state of Belforma's progress and growth, she has purposefully misconstrued data and reports to prevent the ruling Children of Avaria from making moves to develop the region for their own machinations.

Bio: A disowned Avarian Trade Manager, whom dreams of owning a vault full of shiny coins.

Leticia is a native Avarian who handled Aviria's trade operations long before the occurrence of the fall. Under her watch the Avarian Trade Routes were expanded by roughly 40 percent, after she realized Airship Advancements allowed for ships to travel through areas considered too dangerous to traverse in the past. A heavy micromanager, Leticia made a point of understanding the workings Avarian trade from ray materials, to manufacturing, to finally markets to sell them off too. Leticia's 'red textbook' contained ciphered notes on Avarian manufacturing techniques and processes written in an Avarian Cipher that only Children of Avaria could understand. By foresite, Leticia made herself a 'translation book' for Avarian Cipher so that her red textbook could see future use when she would inevitably be challenged for replacement by a younger Avirian.

The girls' mind power dropped once she turned 16. Within a year she was out on the job. However, she was still valued in the Avarian Trade system due to the fact that she maintained amiable relations with many of Avira's trade partners. While she was lacking in the capacity to micromanage everything as before, she was still quite knowledgeable in her own right.

She outright avoided the Fall of Avira by being aboard one of the Avirian Airships en route to Usha. When news of Avira's fall made it to her ears, she realized that it was her chance to 'consider other options.' Through various odds and ends, Leticia came to find out about the Military Expedition of Agnest Craghaster to a Particular Land Holding in Imelda. The crew of this supply ship, believing all was lost, was selling off practically all of their goods with the expectation that they would no longer have help, including some of their Anil Weapons Stores. Naturally, when Agnest approached Leticia for supplying her expedition, Leticia offered to assist in developing the region after the takeover.

Leticia is Agnest's foremost advisory the state of affairs of her Barondom. Leticia happily enjoys more or less complete freedom to dictate the workings of Belforma's burgeoning economy, while Agnest has ensured security of the territory by going after bandits whom reside in the area, which has also gone far to increase her popularity as a Baron within her own realm. Leticia's ultimate goal is to leave a lasting impression by turning the Frontier Region into the most prosperous region of Avira. Goals and actions which may someday put her into direct confrontation with other major players in the world. Her plans are great, but it will take many years before they truly begin to take form.

Leticia and Agnest get along rather well. Though at face value it looks like Leticia is going as far as to scold and order around her own Baroness - in truth Leticia is the 'great puppeteer' of Belforma's aggressive modernization and economic development. Leticia has not forgotten the kindness that Agnest and the Blue Confederation showed to her and the crew of her trading airship after the Fall of Avira. Officially, Leticia is an Avarian Envoy to the Belforma region meant to represent the interests of the Children of Avira. She was assigned there on account she was already there when they arrived - but also because it is considered one of the more useless regions to the Children's mobilization of the country.

I'm going to start the RP tonight. I know there is still technically one spot left open, but there's someone I've seen considering to join in, so we'll see what comes of that. The other spot is likely going to be taken by Fairy, since she has been working on a profile to my knowledge.

For anyone who does plan on starting elsewhere, you are free to come up with whatever city or town names you want. I decided against using a big map with town names since they won't usually be very significant to the story. Basically, town and cities are just kind of disposable meeting locations (with the exception of the Capital cities, which I'll name as the time comes).

The only ability I am going to keep an eye on is Temp's Reinforcement. I know that it is weakened, but parts of the description are open to abuse, such as the constantly active thing. On the other hand, the character also only has two abilities while everyone else has gone with three, so I won't seek any changes for the time being (also due to the fact that the character is currently without a limb, which I think provides a good balance).

[Daedalos Empire - Aster Village - Town Square]

Located along the Daedalos border with the Kingdom of Avira and slightly north of the Lucine border, Aster Village is a relatively large border town that mainly acts as a rest stop for merchants and travelers heading to the southern countries. It is a popular choice for those who know of it due to it's proximity to the Empire, Kingdom and Lucine in addition to lightly enforced in comparison to other areas. Many people feel that it is a neutral place, although it is technically within the borders of the Daedalos Empire and does see patrols from the Empire's armed forces.

Last month, a large sinkhole appeared in the Town Square, revealing tunnels that extended further into the ground. A handful of citizens and visitors to the site are reported to have been turned into Anil as well. The residents attempted to keep the incident a secret nonetheless, for fear of the Empire moving soldiers into the area and ruining the town's reputation as a hub. Despite their attempts, word spread quickly to town's and cities throughout the area. Within a few weeks, various people had come to the village to investigate, although few were brave enough to explore very far and the ones that were usually never came back.

Miranda arrived in the village shortly before noon, having been sent by the Guild to check up on other Tempests. A crowd was milling around the hole in the Town Square, but there did not seem to be anything of note happening in regards to it. Miranda moved her way through the crowd and right up to the edge of the hole.

"Wow, didn't think it would be that big. Starting to feel a little iffy about this."

Miranda paused and then scratched the back of her head.

"Man, that came out wrong."

A man approached Miranda, noticing her unusual weapon, and questioned her presence in the village.

"So what's your deal? Another brainless adventurer here to look for loot under the guise of 'helping us'?"

Miranda turned to the man and smiled, giving him a thumbs up.

"Nope. Name's Miranda, and I'm a seasoned Tempest from the Aigle's Gale Guild."

The man put his hands on his hips and motioned his head back over his shoulder towards a few white sheets laying nearby.

"So were they, and they at least didn't look like they walked out of a brothel."

Miranda's smile dropped and was replaced by an irritated look. She held out her scythe to the man and asked if he would take it.

"Could you hold on to that for me?"

The man gave her an odd look, but took the scythe regardless. When Miranda released it to him, he struggled for a moment to hold it up before resting the end of it on the ground. Miranda had meanwhile headed over to the white sheets.

"Great. This was just supposed to be a quick status update trip. Well, going to have to get the status anyway. What are we dealing with here?"

Miranda lifted one of the sheets to the side with her foot, but quickly dropped it when she saw what was essentially an Anil statue of a person.

"Oh crap, not this again. We killed that thing in Hala. Don't tell me there's more of that bastard in the world."

The man from before had managed to drag Miranda's scythe with him to her location, although his attitude seemed to be unchanged.

"Not so sure of yourself now huh? None of the people that have come here have ever even heard of something like this. We thought they were just Emerald statues until the guys that pulled them out noticed that they looked identical to the people that had gone in there."

Miranda crossed her arms and caused her scythe to disappear from the man's hands. It reappeared in her right hand, and she proceeded to hold it up without the slightest bit of effort. The blade was still folded inward, so Miranda kept her arms crossed while holding it.

"You sure are quick to jump on the smug wagon. Yeah, this is pretty terrible, what with them being part of the Guild and everything, but this is nothing compared to Hala. I mean, you guys haven't even seen the giant nearly-indestructible monster yet. That's the scary part of this little situation."

[Liel Sterling]
[Daedalos Empire - Aster Village - Town Square]

After traveling for a day, Liel finally arrived at Aster Village, as she wants to procure some basic supplies as well as materials required for her tailoring business. At the entrance, the village remains packed as ever, until Liel reaches the town square where a large crowd of people has gathered. Curious, she waded through the crowd, and discovered there was a large sinkhole in the Town Square. Around the vicinity of the sinkhole, there are light greenish patches of land, indicating the place might be affected with Anil.

("This sinkhole... Is it something like the one back in Hala?")

After overhearing some conversations, Liel realized that those who visited the sinkhole never returned. Consecutive expeditions discovered a portion of those who did not return back however, were turned into Anil statues. She frowned at the findings. As she continues to approach to the sinkhole, someone called out to her.

"You there, yet another adventurer wants to jump into that sinkhole and get yourself turned into statue?"

A middle aged man with a brown hat and beard spoke to Liel, as he noticed that she was carrying something broad that is wrapped with brown colored rags, along with a backpack. Behind him however, was a couple of white sheets lying around the area. Assuming the sheets are covering the rumored people turned into Anil, she approached them.

"No, I'm here to get some supplies and tailoring materials. I'm just curious what was going on here."

Liel replied, before checking one of the white sheets. As soon she lifted them, Liel was startled, as she was greeted by a female human Anil statue with a horrified expression on her face. Despite the surprise, she continued to examine the Anil-fied human female. Liel realized that corpse was a Tempest, a member of the Aigle's Gale Guild, as it has the emblem worn around the neck. Afterwards, she laid down the sheet, and got up.

"Do you know that poor girl?" The man from before spoke to Liel with a condescending gaze.

"No, I don't. I feel pity for her, however."

Liel shortly replied, before turning around and checking the environment around her. Then, her eyes caught someone she have not seen for about 3 years.

("Miranda? Wasn't surprising. I thought Excellen was with her this time. I guess she went to the Orphans now?")

As a gesture of courtesy, Liel approached Miranda, and greeted her.

"Miranda. We meet again... though it seems that we're destined to meet with each other under problem-prone places."

[Lucine - Elwynn Village]

Located near the border between Lucine and Daedalos, also not so far from Aster Village. Elwynn Village also served the same purpose as Aster Village. Though this village have less popularity than Aster Village.

Some times after the incident at Aster Village. Elwynn Village received even more adventurers and merchants than usual. It left the residents curious to what happened to Aster Village. They eventually found out about it not long after.

Arden was busy working in the bakery with his sister, Lucia.

"Lucia, I already taught you the basics of creating fire right?" Arden asked as he took out a batch of breads inside the oven.

"Hm? Oh... Yeah, you already taught me that, along with working in this bakery." Lucia answered.

"You see, you know that neighboring village right? I was curious to see what caused the incident. An--" Arden was about to continue but he was cut by Lucia.

"And you're going to leave me here alone?" Lucia asked.

"Well... technically yes, but let me finish first. I already prepared stuffs beforehand. I contacted a friend of mine to help you out here. I was thinking that she'll arrive here like not too long now.--- Ah there she is." Arden looked out and noticed a woman that he knew was also a member of his former guild in Usha back when he was still in that guild approaching the bakery.

"Ah, Arden, long time no see." The woman greeted, she continued with a hug to Arden.

"Lilia, hey, not when my sister is watching please." Arden gently pushed the woman away.

"Right, this here is Lilia, she'll help you out while I'm gone." Arden continued.

. . .

After some discussions with the girls. Arden decided that Lucia is almost ready to be left on her own. He still went with his plans to have Lilia watch over his sister tending the bakery while he's out investigating the problem in Aster Village.

"Okay, I'll be back as soon as I can. Lucia, make sure you're ready enough when I'm back. Lilia, keep my sister safe." Arden said to both of the girls as he readying up for his journey.

"Sure, be careful out there." Arden walked away as Lilia said it.

"So, who are you exactly to Arvel?" Lucia asked Lilia as she's sure that Arden wouldn't hear it.

"Eh?"

. . .

Arden is now on his way to Aster Village. He also brought some fresh breads enough to last him for a few days with him in his backpack. Though he doesn't know that he will meet with some people that worked with him 3 years ago.

[Three Years Ago - The Imelda Capital]

"Burst Bullet!"

A violent echo burst fourth from the point of impact, proceeding the explosion that tore through the line of Imeldan Soldiers advancing in droves.

"Don't push yourself too hard, Spica!"

"I don't think that's an option in this situation Agnest! If we even back down a little we're going to get overrun!"

Spica popped open the cylinder of here Revolver to load in more bullets. It would be 30 more seconds before she could perform a Burst Bullet Again. An eternity in between the masses of soldiers coming at them.

The time it took for her to load another bullet was enough to let an Imeldan Guard thrust a spear through her heart. Enough to end everything for her.

"We have to be careful Miss Craghaster"

"That's why you should've left holding them off to me, Spica!"

The girl was obviously not alone however. With the gunslinger, a woman in distinctive pirate wielded her Lengthy Rapier with deadly accuracy.

"Hyaaa!"

A lunge by a soldier. Clad in armor.

"Don't get so cocky!"

...A peirceing through the slits of his helmet. The lull of his posture. To draw the weapon out - and to proceed again to the next.

Unlike Spica Agnest knew the procedure of killing all too well.

[Agnest Belforma]
[Daedalos Empire - Near Aster Village]

"So it seems I had to do it again, huh?"

A woman with white haired surveyed the aftermath of the fight. Weapons and recently departed where all that was left of ambush and subsequent struggle a moment ago. The forest had fallen quiet - muted by the sounds of fighting and death that had just occurred.

Agnest knelt down by the body of one of her bodyguards. Contemplating them with admiration.

"To come across the sea to die in such a dishonorable fashion..."

Agnest's gentle smile slowly turned into a frown. These where some of her best men, whom had accompanied her in many battles before. There were few who could best them in open combat.

But this was not a battle in an open field. This was an act of subterfuge - aimed at taking Agnest's life. The knives that descended from the trees above attempted to Take out Agnest in one fell swoop where meant for that purpose.

("But you guys didn't let that happen.") Agnest thought to herself.

The sounds of the fight where still fresh in her mind. She could remember the moments each person fell. Some during the first strike, some during the confusion afterward. But all of them were concerned with Agnest's safety. She had heard it herself.

Agnest-sama! An ambush!

Those cowards! Protect the baroness!

Regardless, Agnest was in a tough situation. Though it wasn't the time to be assuming things, the most logical explanation was that Daedalos did not take to Kindly to an Imeldan - now Avarian - Noble walking around in their domain.

Agnest had to get back to her home in Belforma. But at this rate, there it would be no time before more assailant come after her. A sense of urgency - Agnest could not dally around for very long. Agnest discarded her bloody clothing, and donned the most common looking clothing she could find. Leading to a grey jacket and accompanying scarf she could use to conceal herself later.

With so little in hand, Agnest took a few steps down the path. It lead to the nearest town her party was originally moving towards. Aster Village.

"A big statue...." Agnest said as she stopped. "Made of Marble. Gilded in Gold and Ruby."

Agnest looked back at her men for one last time.

"So don't be too mad that I can't give you all a proper funeral right now." She said before breaking into a run.

Escaping the forest, Agnest soon saw the outskirts of the village itself.

[Three Years Ago - Imelda Outskirts]

"I apologize for such cowardly tactics. But, your level is just too high. We have no chance of facing you in a fair battle. Still, I did not expect them all to die."

Broken and orphaned weapons were strewn about Joe, as were their previous owners. Five, to be exact. His right arm was broken, and he couldn't see out of his left eye; it was swollen. He was exhausted. His body was covered in wounds. The man continued.

"We should not have taken this job. My friends..."

Tears fell from the man's eyes.

"We always knew we could die anytime. Still, I wish you died without a fight. After this job, we could have retired and..."

The man shook his head and gripped his spear.

"Before Ian's spell wears off, I will finish you."

As the man charged, Joe felt grateful that he was the one that faced them. He closed his eyes...

[Joe]
[Daedalos Empire - Valn Village]

"So you're really leaving."
"Yes."
"Why not stay for a bit longer? Or just say goodbye to the children?"

Joe turned around to look at the elderly woman.

"I don't want to see their sad faces, chief. And I need to look at that sinkhole. I've done what I could do here. Take care of the village."

He checked his suitcase one more time, then looked at the buildings around him.

"Thank you, for everything. Our village had nothing, but in just a year you brought clean water, our crops are so-"

Joe interrupted her by waving his hand dismissively.

"All of the original ideas were of Ryuu Akumu's. I only brought them to you and adjusted them accordingly."

The woman shook her head.

"Don't be so modest. I hope you help others like us. Please, come back when you can. You are welcome anytime."

Joe nodded, and left.

[Some time later...]

[Daedalos Empire - Near Aster Village]

"Is that...?"

In the distance, Joe thought he saw a familiar face. Though it his face had aged a bit, he could still tell that it was Arden. Joe tried to wave his left hand, but soon remembered that it was now merely a stump. He frowned at it, then waved his right arm holding the suitcase.

"Hey!"

Joe had no idea of what happened to the others he was with; he was absent during the battle with Ezio three years ago. He found out later that Ezio was killed, but not what happened to the others.

"How have you-"

Joe cut himself off as he saw something enter his peripheral vision. He turned to get a better look at it, then felt a sharp pain in his head. He reflexively dropped his suitcase and put his hand to his forehead.

"She's not even wearing a hat...!"

Sorry for the relatively short post. Having trouble focusing today.

[Daedalos Empire - Aster Village - Town Square]

The man had backed away from Miranda when she began speaking of giant monsters. Miranda simply shrugged and went back to inspecting the hole in the ground.

"Kind of figured that would shut him up. Now, what the hell do I do about this?"

As Miranda studied the hole and contemplated going in, she was addressed by someone nearby. They knew her by name, although she didn't immediately recognize them by their voice. When Miranda turned to look around, she noticed a woman that seemed vaguely familiar, but after a few moments the name came to her.

"Liel! Good to see you not injured!"

Miranda gave Liel a quick once over, noticing that she looked quite a bit different than the last time the two had seen each other.

"You look. . .different. Are you like a mom now or something?"

Even form a distance, the gesture was unmistakeable. That gesture of someone holding their forehead like they're in pain. There was where only a few people Agnest could remember who just spontaneously did such things in broad daylight.

But it was strange - that person went missing before the last battle went on in Imelda's capital.

She was not sure if it was wise to approach him. For all shew could've known, he was also working with that Eric character when it came to selling the Orphans of Avaria - (and by extension their employed) out. Which ultimately lead to them being imprisoned at one point.

But Agnest didn't have much time to speculate. How he would react to her approaching him would tell everything.

...

"...That suitcase, there's no mistake."

Aside from the suitcase, the most noticeable thing was that this person - whose name escaped Agnest - was without one of his hands.

"Hey, are you going to keep on having a headache, or can I ask you for some help?" She said, approaching Joe at walking speed.

But Joe wasn't the only person Agnest would recognize in the town. If the gossip was true - then...

[Liel Sterling]
[Daedalos Empire - Aster Village - Town Square]

"Liel! Good to see you not injured!"

Liel sighed in return, while looking at Miranda in disbelief.

"Do you enjoy seeing me seeing me injured?"

Then, Miranda looked at her from top to bottom. There was a gust of wind, blowing her silver hair and blue dress. As a response, Liel pushed down her dress, and holding a portion of her hair to prevent them from being messy due to the wind.

"You look. . .different. Are you like a mom now or something?"

Liel simply closed her eyes and shook her head.

"No, I don't have any children. Is it bad that I changed my fashion sense? I'm a tailor now, not a mercenary. Moreover, we're in late-20s, so stuffs like the skimpy dresses and two pieces that the Avirian traders sell throughout Daedalos are only suitable to those teenage girls and young adults. Well, that's what I thought anyway."

She looked at the crystallized bodies which were covered with white sheets, before turning back to Miranda.

"I assume you're here to investigate the sinkhole and the cause for these poor souls turned into Anil. I even saw one of the victims whom was a Tempest. I feel pity for her though, as she looked like she barely reached adulthood."

More and more people continued to move in to check out the commotion. Fortunately, some of them left the town square as well, allowing the area from being too packed. Certain merchants and travelers are moving away from the village, to another village or town to procure their supplies, as some of the shops and trading centers are located at the Town Square. With that sinkhole in place, it was impossible for them to proceed, and not to mention that the shops around the sinkhole are closed.

The same can be said to Liel, as her tailoring supplies are located at the center of the Town Square. Fortunately, she does not have any backlog of tailoring orders, and since she has reunited with one of her old partner in arms, Liel decided to stay.

"I hope that large monster back in Hala isn't around here this time, and we don't have Excellen with us too."

Joe closed his eyes to accept his fate. But...

"Gwaaagh?!"

He screamed in pain as the spear cleanly cleaved off most of his left arm. He fell to the floor and writhed in agony.

"I've changed my mind. You will not die quickly. You will suffer a slow death. It's not professional, but I don't care. No amount of money can ever...!"

Joe looked at the spear, ambivalent about his fate.

[Joe]
[Daedalos Empire - Near Aster Village]

"Give me a moment."

After a few seconds, he removed his hand from his forehead and looked at Agnest. Like Arden, she too had changed. The most obvious physical changes were her missing hat and short hair. Joe also felt something different about her presence, though he couldn't tell what it was.

The pain was gone for now, but he did not know when or if it would return.

"Sorry about that. And what do you need help with? Are you here to look at the sinkhole? I'm guessing Arden is too, huh?"

Joe's stomach growled. He smiled and blushed slightly in embarrassment, something that he would have never done three years ago. His physical appearance was not the only thing that changed.

"For now, how about we head inside. Standing around and talking like this might arouse suspicion."

"Hey!"

That familiar sound made Arden looked at the source of the sound. It was Joe, one of the people he worked with three years ago. They first met back in Hala. Then they're all hired by the Orphans to track down Eric. Arden replied with raising his hand to Joe.

Though strangely, he was absent from the final fight against Ezio. He seemed to lost one of his arm, though Arden doesn't know when, he figured that it might be somewhere between the three years Arden didn't see him.

"How have you-" before he could finish, it seemed that he saw something that triggers his headache.

"She's not even wearing a hat...!" Arden then turned around and saw a woman. Arden could tell that it was Craghaster. Also one of the people that were hired by the Orphans to retrieve Eric. Though she also changed as well.

"Hey, are you going to keep on having a headache, or can I ask you for some help?"

. . .

"Sorry about that. And what do you need help with? Are you here to look at the sinkhole? I'm guessing Arden is too, huh?"

"Yeah, wondered what's the big deal about that sinkhole." Arden replied with his reason to check out Aster Village.

Then, someone's stomach growled, though that someone appears to be Joe as his expression changed to embarassment.

"For now, how about we head inside. Standing around and talking like this might arouse suspicion."

"Nah, we could just go ahead to the village and right to the sinkhole." Arden quickly suggested everyone to move to the sinkhole in Aster Village.

Arden walked down the path to Aster Village, he then made his way to the town square. There, along with a large crowd, was a sinkhole, and white sheets covering something. There was also a greenish tint around the sinkhole.

"Something tells me that we're probably looking at a similar creature that wreak havoc in Hala three years ago." Arden said to no one in particular. He then walked to the white sheets and uncover what's inside. It was revealed to be a statue of a person made by Anil... Or was it the person that turned into Anil?

"Tch..." Arden looked away.

Arden then saw someone he was quite familiar with, Miranda, along with Liel. Miranda doesn't seem to change but Liel looked so... Motherly. Arden then approached the two womens.

"Liel, Miranda, been a long time." Arden greeted the two womens.

[Daedalos Empire - Near Aster Village]

The first few lines of the conversation revealed quite a bit. Namely, the sinkhole that seemed to be the talk of the town - and the fact that another familiar face - Arden - was there.

Joe suggested to head inside to keep from being suspicious. But Arden seemed to be here on business with the sinkhole. Something that intrigued Agnest. Ultimately, Agnest wrapped her scarf around her sheathed rapier, miraculously giving it the appearance of a walking staff.

"I think checking out that sinkhole might be worth it too." She said before walking after Arden. "Ah, and also... Nice to see you again." She said, sounding more obligatory than wholly sincere.

[Daedalos Empire - Aster Village - Town Square]

"Something tells me that we're probably looking at a similar creature that wreak havoc in Hala three years ago."

Arden had discovered the Crystallized Anil Bodies covered by the white sheets. Eerily similar to what Agnest had seen in happen in Hala those years ago.

But also in the crowd, Arden found two other familiar faces. Even with the crowd of people around, Agnest could immediately recognize one of them without even needing to see their face. Miranda and her ever conspicuous weapon, and someone Agnest couldn't put a finger on until Arden said it himself.

"Liel, Miranda, been a long time."

"Ah, that's right. It was Liel." Agnest said. Not seeming to direct her words much to anyone else. She seemed fixated on Liel's new look as they began conversing.

(heh.)

Looking in Liel's general direction. Agnest expressed a little of her amusement. It felt like fate was dragging right back into the situation that Spica got her into at Hala.

Liel denied having children, instead pointing out that she had simply changed her fashion to reflect her new lifestyle and age. Miranda took exception to the last part however.

"Hey. First of all, I'm mid-twenties, not late twenties. Second of all, that's a bit rich coming from a chick who just had to hold her dress down from a gust of wind to avoid flashing the entire village."

Liel continued on, trying to guess at the reason for Miranda's presence. She expressed her sympathies for one of the people that had been turned to Anil, a young girl, although Miranda mostly just shrugged it off.

"Eh, it happens. Kind of comes with the territory when you join up with the Guild in a combat capable role. Before stuff like this we had to deal with Avirian hired mercs. Anyway, yeah, that's why I'm here. I was supposed to just check in with the Tempests that went to investigate, but I guess now I'll be doing a little spelunking."

Liel then stated that she hoped they wouldn't see the monster from Hala again, especially since they didn't have Excellen around. Miranda simply groaned in response, given that she was the one that was going to have to go in.

"Don't go saying crap like that Liel. I don't want to be jinxed. As for Excellen, I'm pretty sure I remember her being part of the reason why we were attacked by the last one, so I'm fine with her not being around this time."

At this point, the reunion picked up a few more members as Arden, Joe and Agnest approached the pair. Arden greeted them, but Agnest seemed to keep to herself for the moment. Miranda's shoulders sunk a bit as she saw the trio, since there was always bad news when the group got together.

"Oh man, you guys are here too? This is is going to be Hala all over again."

Miranda ran her free hand through her hair for a moment, then moved on to finding out what brought everyone here.

"So then what are you three doing here together? If it's the creepy sinkhole thing then you're welcome to it. Not like I'm eager to jump into Hala Version 2."

Joe looked at Agnest quizzically for a moment before following the two.

("Was she always like that? Arden seems normal enough.")

Still, Joe was grateful that they didn't ask questions about his missing arm. In return, he didn't ask where Spica or Lanavel were.

After his battle three years ago, Joe could only remember certain things. He remembered Agnest, Arden, and some of the others. He remembered the giant monster at Hala and the Orphans. But, he could not remember what he did on the ship or the events that happened after he left it. It was a blank. He woke up in a comfortable room in Lucine with his arm missing and nothing more. The man who was healing him felt hurt that he forgot him*, but shrugged it off.

[Daedalos Empire - Aster Village - Town Square]

Joe walked up to the same crystallized statue Arden went to see for himself. He frowned and put the sheet back on it. When Miranda greeted the three, Joe responded to her question.

"Yeah, I've heard rumors. I was planning on resting before looking for myself, but since you guys are here... Well, besides Miranda, if you are all going to go right now, let me join you. Safety in numbers and all that. Especially since..."

Joe took a glance at his arm before looking back at Mirana and Liel, a slight smile on his face.

The awkward banter between Liel and Miranda continued on.

"Don't go saying crap like that Liel. I don't want to be jinxed. As for Excellen, I'm pretty sure I remember her being part of the reason why we were attacked by the last one, so I'm fine with her not being around this time."

Liel frowned at Miranda.

"Uh, I'm not jinxing things up. I'm merely stating the possibilities, as it's better to expect the worst? Plus, Excellen saved us more than once when the fights came to us."

"Liel, Miranda, been a long time."

A male voice called out to them, and to Liel, it was pretty familiar, even though she realized that she has not heard this person's voice for a long time. Liel turned around, and it was Arden. Beside him however, is Agnest, one of the pair from the Usha continent, and the peculiar man named Joe. Liel noticed the change of appearance in Agnest, with the absence of her iconic large hat. Seeing this, Miranda simply expressed herself.

"Oh man, you guys are here too? This is going to be Hala all over again."

Liel gave a short laugh when she heard that. Indeed, it was quite the coincidence. Miranda continued on.

"So then what are you three doing here together? If it's the creepy sinkhole thing then you're welcome to it. Not like I'm eager to jump into Hala Version 2."

Joe was the first one to reply to Miranda's question.

"Yeah, I've heard rumors. I was planning on resting before looking for myself, but since you guys are here... Well, besides Miranda, if you are all going to go right now, let me join you. Safety in numbers and all that. Especially since..."

He stopped and glanced at his left arm, which is nothing more than a stump, before looking back at Liel and Miranda, while smiling lightly. In return, Liel shrugged her shoulders as she has noticed Joe's disability from the moment he entered the conversation.

"We'll see... as I'm no longer a Tempest now."

Meeting each other once again, it seemed like everyone's first thoughts were about what had happened in Hala three years ago - and about how much they really didn't want to have such a thing happen again.

But eventually, Miranda asked them another important question. How it came to be that way was a question festering in the back of Agnest's mind - but that probably wasn't a conversation she wanted to start off here.

"So then what are you three doing here together? If it's the creepy sinkhole thing then you're welcome to it. Not like I'm eager to jump into Hala Version 2."

"Yeah, I've heard rumors. I was planning on resting before looking for myself, but since you guys are here... Well, besides Miranda, if you are all going to go right now, let me join you. Safety in numbers and all that. Especially since..."

Joe finished his thought by glancing over to what was left of his arm.

Liel explained herself.

"We'll see... as I'm no longer a Tempest now."

Agnest finally spoke out, finding a good place to enter the conversation.

"Stopped being a tempest? Meaning you stopped being in the Guild? That's too bad, I actually came here to look for Aigle guild members. I wanted to talk to someone at the branch office about a job. But I don't really know my way around here."

Agnest's turned her eyes from Liel to Miranda. She still looked about the same as she did three years ago in Agnest's eyes - meaning...

"I personally don't want to go diving into there without any good reason. But can I assume you'd be able to direct me to where I can talk to an Aigle Guild Officer?" She asked.
