 The Land In the land of Afaldren, a couple of centuries have passed since the land had been isolated from the rest of world.Without any serious competition nor major enemies the land has been undoubtedly peaceful for quite some time. With no need to use the Mystical Art anymore the citizens became dull and over time their abilities faded away. However, there has been unpleasant movement along the borders of Afaldren, it seems that things are on the brink of war. Even though the land had been protected by a magical barrier, its power was slowly fading and outsiders have managed to forcefully enter their way through. In an attempt to fight off said intruders the Academy was built to nurture those who are capable of instigating, and spreading the knowledge of magic once again. The “Beings†hope that this attempt to bring the magic will save them from the unknown threat. The Academy It stands tall in the depths of a never ending forest, on an island in the middle of a crystal lake, you will find it. Once you are accepted into the "Arcana Academy", you will find all sorts of magic that has been lost in the past few centuries. Time is irrelevant here, as they prepare to spread magic into the world once more. Though studying is key, that will only go so far.The textbooks of information are there but you must learn how to apply them. All sorts of hi-jinks ensue due to this lack of knowledge, and all sorts of beings are found because of it, and you have been chosen join them. ________________________________________________________________________________ Message from the Head Master: Well, let's cut all the formal stuff. Who are you: David Black How long have you lived: 102 years What are you: Hybrid: Angel of Death (Mix between angel and demon) What appearance do you hold:  What knowledge do you hold: I can also rip out a poor fool's soul and devour it to restore any lost energy (not all but some based on how strong the soul) Though I can only do this with my bare hands. (and in the picture he is almost always wearing his gloves so this is used as a finisher.) What is your tale: (Self) I lived in what you would call the "Outside world" for over 100 years. I was born an orphan and my foster parents were dreadful enough to try and kill me. Thankfully I was reborn as this Angel of Death and I ate the souls of those horrid people. After that, I lived on my own, wandering the world, practicing with my abilities, and doing whatever I pleased. The humans of this world stand no chance against me. I keep them alive because they supply me with food, water and shelter that I can steal. (Bio) He is an arrogant guy who believes he knows everything about his power and is the most powerful guy on the planet. He honestly never fought anything stronger than a tank though. He can be killed, he just has a high healing rate. Easiest way to kill him would be by completely destroying his heart and head or ripping out his soul. So he can lose an arm but it would grow back eventually. If he loses his head but the rest of his body is fine he would come back after a month but take a year to be able to function normally again. His heart would take a week to come back and another to be fully back to normal. He stopped aging at 18 and remains to still have the attitude of one as well.

The power comes from his fists and legs. He has a tuning fork on a thick chain that can amplify the sound waves to stun others momentarily. The only drawback is that he cant fully control it frequency so his body is put in a physical strain.(Mostly internal damage) Personality: Despite his age he is very calm and collected. Due to his up-bringing he addresses everyone formally. I get along quite well with the animals, I also have a pet squirrel named Kanako, yes it's a she. I do hope to get along well with everyone. She uses the petals of the flowers that seem like decorations on her body to bend nature to her will. What is your tale: She's from the southern part of the outside world, however she knows her way around Afaldern. Not much about her family is know, many presume they are dead. She is extremely gifted in the old magic, as seen with the power over nature. No one knows how she was able learn such a power. And she came to Afaldern not only for the Academy, but also for some unfinished business that many think has to do with her family. |

Prelude part 1 [Aruru|unknown forest|noon] I am lost. No, i mean literately lost in a forest. Just until yesterday, i would have never, i mean NEVER dared to wonder away from my village, but i did not have a real choice this time. It was leave or be blown off the ground 10 feet in to the air with a flying bomb. No one in the village could have stood a chance against the invaders who were well trained and equipped with modern weapons. Those who still leave a bloody stain in the centuries of history of this hidden land of Afaledren, those who refused admit the existence of the hybrids, and feared the possibilities of magic. I do not know how they found this land, but they have done it, and blew half of my village off the ground. The only reason I am still able to wonder aimlessly in the forest is thanks to my familiar, Mukkuru. I know little of him, because i have just inherited the contract my passed father had with him just a few days ago, and father rarely summoned this one for what ever reason he had.So i never had the time to know him until today “What do we do now Master? We cannot stay here very long. its too dangerous.†Mukkuru’s shimmering, yet muffled whisper echoed in between the trees. He is right, i should stop thinking of what happened, and think more of what i should do. My feet are not touching the ground, lets start from there. “Well, would you mind putting me down already? I think i can walk now.†I feel my voice so weak and shaking, what a great impression i am making to whom i should be a master of. Embarrassingly when we were on our escape, Mukkuru snatched me off the ground and ever since that moment i have been hanging from his jaws like a perfectly sized chewing-toy. Though he has been careful not to chomp my body in half, i can feel his fangs digging their way in my flesh every gentle step Mukkuru takes, and i think the blood circulation is starting to be blocked off from my lower body, and my legs are feeling numb. “I cannot,do that master. You are too slow on foot, and i can still smell those humans close by.†He swiftly denies my request with supporting reason, and style. I give up, i can bear a little more of digging fangs. The problem is what Mukkuru said, Where do we go now that my village is not a safe place. What am i thinking about? The question is already answered. The Arcana Achademy. The letter i receive yesterday has all the information to reach the legendary school. It is in my waist pouch, but i cannot reach it at the moment. If i remember, It read.... Oh great! I am glad that you accepted to accept the invitation. Now that you will be enrolling into MY school you will need to find your way to MY place. As of how, There will be a talisman enclosed in the envelop along with this letter. Just rip the stupid thing and it will take you to where you need to be. Sincerely Laharl Atalos What a simple instruction...I did not use the talisman yet because i thought i still had time to gather materials for study, but it is my get away ticket now. “Mukkuru, lets use the talisman. That way, we will at least get out of this situation.†My voice is still weak, but the shake is not there anymore. With a deep sigh, i felt his jaw loosen. Immediately i swung my right arm around and patted around my waist to find the pouch. Eventually, i did find it; reached in and pulled out the letter, and ripped the whole thing in half along with the envelope and letter. It was absolutely mysterious. After i ripped the letter, we were still in the forest, but when i blinked, we were standing in front of a lake. A monstrous lake with crystal clear water and a large island floating in the middle of it, with the other side not visible to the eye, and a towering castle stands on the island with a broken stone bridge reaching halfway to the shore. The first thought that came to me as i was still hanging from Mukkuru's mouth was This must be the Arcana Academy. Occ: sorry for the long read AND wait. Now i want you guys to post part of your character's life before ripping the letter, and you all will end up at the lake. And lets try to gather up. Keep in mind that your post doesn't have to long as mine, and third person writing is the easiest for new RPers. |

[David/ Five star restaurant/ Noon] (OOC: I'll be posting in 1st person just feels better to me) I sit at my table alone, in the corner of the room. I try to hide my face with my scarf, looking down, whatever I can think of that will make sure no one notices who I am. It's only been a week since I've been in this city and I have already made quite a bad name for myself. I might just end up skipping town again. Seriously, humans can't just entertain me anymore. The waitress brings me my order. Some fine wine and roasted steak. It was the special today and I was sick of eating souls for energy. Its pricy but, its not like I'm gonna pay. I pick up my utensils and eat some real food for the first time in a few days. When the waitress comes after collecting my dishes, she leaves the bill and a second piece of paper. "Just what is this?" I ask her. "The bill? Is there something else you wanted?" She replies. She clearly can't see the other paper there or she has poor sight. I let it slip with a simple "No it's okay." and take a look at the paper. Opening it I see the contents is the other letter I was supposed to get. Message from Head Master Laharl Altalos Oh great! I am glad that you accepted to accept the invitation. Now that you will be enrolling into MY school you will need to find your way to MY place. At first I felt nothing, but looking up from the letter I see I was no longer sitting on my chair but on the ground in front of a massive lake with a castle sitting on an island right in the middle of it. I get up and dusk myself off. "Something interesting HAS to be here." I said to myself, beholding the view before me.

She then appeared in front of a lake with a castle on an island in the middle of the lake. Sayaka looked around her, she found the environment beautiful. Sayaka : "I do hope that it'll be safe studying there... And I really wonder what kind of people I would meet there." |

occ: alright! lets start this people! Also, to those who responded to my questions, please delete your occ: posts. Now lets get rollin'! Even thought the sight of the lake was breathtaking, it did not distract my mind enough to ignore the jabbing fangs in my sides and back. Gently, not to cause anymore paint to my self, I manage to pat Mukkuru's muzzle to get his attention. He jerked a little. "Oh dear!, I am sorry. Please hold on." he said hastily, as he gradually lowered his body. Why is he being so careful with me? If he had released me now, it would have been a 2 feet(61cm) drop to the ground covered with grass, that kind of fall will not hurt me unless I fall directly on my tail in a funny way. At this point, i simply wanted to be released from this agonizing pain. Finally Mukkuru loosened his jaws when i was about a foot off the ground, and i quickly slipped out of his mouth and took a few steps back to circulate blood to my feet again. I pat myself down and found several sharp indents in my skin in the shapes of a fang. I was not bleeding anywhere, but these indents will turn in to ugly bruises later. When i looked back up to Mukkuru, i was reminded of what kind of beast i was contracted with. Silver-White, with vertical black stripes scattered allover his body,His eyes gleaming in pure dark sky-blue, and his jaws large and strong enough to carry around a person in it all day and not get tiered at all, and equipped with knife-sized fangs and claws. I am contracted to what others may call the Guardian of the West, Byakko, or Baihu. As i roughly observed him, Mukkuru stared back at me with a questioning expression. And i realized that i still had the ripped letter in my hand. "It is good that we are not at full safety..." Mukkuru started as he glanced at several places near the shore of the lake. "We are not alone, several other beings have been appearing around the lake, and they all hold high capacity of mana." "Then what do you suggest? Swim across this 5 league wide lake?" I said tiredly. To be honest, this lake might be even bigger considering the fact that we cannot see the other side beyond the horizon, and the school i am invited to, stands right in the middle of it. So to reach safety immediately; one will need a flight ability, or some how walk on water, or be a fish. And i have none of those. While i was thinking, Mukkuru has taken a few laps of the lake water and stood there looking back at me with a slight grin. "How about, we start with you riding on my back?" Mukkuru said as he crouched low, and sticking out his elbow, probably suggesting i should use it to climb on to his back. With nothing else to do, I approached him, and put my left foot on to his elbow to get the extra height, and leaped on to his back. Mukkuru did not seem surprised at all, and raised his body off the ground. Without asking of what to do next, Mukkuru walked straight towards the water. I tried to stop him by pulling on his hair, but he did not waver at all. When we cam to just a step away from the water, i braced myself for the cold water, But nothing happened. Mukkuru was still walking, but on water. "You can walk on water?!?" i asked "Incorrect, listen carefully."he suggested amusingly. As he told me, I concentrated on hearing the sounds around me. Strange, the lake water is still and quiet, if something would have touched or even walked on it, there should be some sort of movement of water. But i do not hear a single splash, instead i hear grass...GRASS?!? Why is there grass here? No, that cannot be. we are already a yard away from shore, there should not be a single blade of grass above water. "You seem confused child. It is space connection." he said in a highly motivated tone. "This allows me to connect different places through a hole in space. right now, i am simply putting my paw through a hole that had ground on the other side." This is too confusing, and i am tired. I wonder if it will be fine if i take a nap here on his back...his fur is so warm... ... ... ... ... a young woman's voice echos in my mind "Hello there! My Name is Jenny! I am the gate guard here at Arcana Acadamy, May i have a look at your invitation?." Occ: So for those who are already at the Lake, try to find a way to cross the lake to the castle. It will be fine if you use this time to interact with other characters aswell. For those who have yet to arrive at the lake, please do so! |

Also He has the eyepatch for a reason but he doesnt tell anyone about the future eye too anyone. He stands up and says to him self/ "Were the hell am I?" *cough cough* Walking through a smoke of fog and hearing explosions and screams he touches the ground and see that the land around him is completely destroyed by some thugs. "So they're at the middle of this city." he runs over to the roof of a small coffee store and jumps from building to building finally reaching the plaza. (Hm only 10 people I wonder how they manage to destroy this whole city in 10 seconds, wait boombs! they were planted all over I notice that some spots had deeper holes than others) He noticed the boss with he's crew of 9 people killing people randomly. "HEY Idiots stop that!" Tokiro said while hiding in the fog. The boss yells laughing "SAYS WHO!?" He's boss look at he's man and notices that they all are split in half. Sudden fear shock the boss as Tokiro came walking in front of Pablo as the fog slowly lifted, the boss yells and shoots at Tokiro's fore head. Tokiro on the floor says. "Ouch ouch ouuuch do you know how much that hurts" he stands up and looks at the boss. "Well pablo is my turn" Tokiro hits the back oh he's head with he's katana and the bullet falls out he licks one of the swords and the bullet hole is gone. Either way Just brake the talisman and you will end up in the school or somewhere close.- He brakes the talisman and suddenly he is flowtin in the air and sees a lake under him he realizes that he is falling and gets ready for impact he enters the late and a giant fish swims towars him in a rapid speed and pushes him towards the school "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WHAT THE HECK IS GOING OOON!?" HE falls on he's head and gets knocked out by the gates. |
