Plot: The planet of Adrene had been experiencing a time of peace for quite some time now. There had been no war, no famine, nor depression in the economy. Because of this peace, civilization was able to advance, but due to a coalition agreement after the last war, development of weapons had been halted. Then, one normal day in the country of Lidell, a strange object fell from the sky. It attracted scientists from around the planet to investigate what it was; none of them had any idea. It was a space rock that they had never seen. Too large to move, the scientists studied it there. Soon after it fell, however, scientists as well as people in the area began to fall gravely ill and die from an unknown disease. Some people even mutated, into these sludgy creatures. The dead were considered the lucky without their appearances warped and their behavior feral. The stone was found to be the origin of the epidemic, and the environment around the stone began to decay, and become a toxic wasteland. Then—a few weeks later—Armageddon struck. Hundreds of the same stones rained down from the sky, crash landing into Adrene, and eventually the whole planet was contaminated. The race of life on the planet, which happened to be human, built domes around their cities to protect themselves from the unknown substance the rocks released. But even though they had built domes, contamination was still spreading. People went missing, and eventually, their mutated bodies would be found destroying the city, or even the surrounding dome, trying to spread the contamination. The capital of the county Martel is where this takes place. An organization has been put into action to protect the city from the contamination effect. But how long could they last? The outside was unknown; something had to be lurking outside their domes... And these creatures, their behavior was the same throughout all the cases, what was trying to destroy civilization? General Info: Defense Force: The Defense Force equipped with modern to semi-futuristic weaponry. Although, they battle the infected in special suits. These suits make it so that they won't be exposed to the contamination and become infected. The suits visors are also equipped with echo location, thermal, and infrared settings for various adaptability. Though designed for battling the Contaminated, they cannot withstand a Gigant's sludge, or too much exposure at once. This is indicated by a warning bar on the left of the visor's H.U.D. (Head's Up Display). On top of the bar, their will be a number (in percent) displaying how much exposure their is in the current environment. Once the exposure starts getting near 85% a message will appear and you will be suggested to leave the area immediately. Once the contamination reaches 90% the helmet will begin to crack and as it rises even more, the suit will begin to malfunction and even cease to work, leaving you exposed to the contamination. The suits are also equipped with a flashlight, when thermal, infrared, or echo is not required, but you still cannot see. Though most Contaminated are attracted to light, so be careful when you use the flashlight. Besides a flashlight, their is a comlink established between the other suits and HQ so communication is hands-free. The suits are made out of a type of material that is impact resistant, so you can easily drop from high distances, and withstand some blows. Though too much will--once again--cause suit failure. Contaminated: Like stated, the Contaminated that actually survive the disease pretty much have their bodies warped and become berserk. The state of the warp depends on how long and how much exposure they got to the substance. For reference, they could grow to be as large as Final Chaos from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The warp could also be as minor as just limbs being changed. Their mental state reverts to something more feral. All thinking is gone and they act on impulse only: that impulse being to destroy humanity for whatever reason. They’ll attack blindly and even go as far as attack the surrounding area. The Contaminated are divided into several classes: Gigant: Worst of the worst Contaminated. These would be the ones like Final Chaos. Monstrous beings with their bodies warped beyond recognition. Can cause damage upon a massive scale. The can excrete a type of acidic sludge that can melt through almost any substance. Budder: Budders’ only purpose is to spread the contamination. Strange bubbly sacs will appear all over the host’s body. These can be considered to be the most dangerous Contaminated, since whenever they are rubbed the wrong way, they’ll explode, causing the contamination to spread. The only way to destroy them without spreading the contamination is by burning them. Sauvage : The French word for “feralâ€. Humans aren’t the only ones affected by the contamination. Animals are as well. When animals become infected, their saliva will turn acidic, and their appearance with small spikes protruding from some joints as well as a more rigid spine. Upon being bitting by a Sauvage, the virus will spread through the human and literally eat away at it until there is nothing left. Shifter: These contaminated can enlarge any of their limbs as well as warp their bone structure. They can slip through small openings due to having no definite bone structure and can crush something easily due to their enlargement ability. Identified by red eyes with black rings around their eye sockets and often a slinky walk. Tank: Tanks are the defenders of the Contaminated. Their skin hardens and warps into that of a type of shield in front of them. Much force is needed to blow through these Contaminated. Were: Weres are infected that are given animal-like qualities. They can obtain anything rainging from a snake’s venom, to a porcupine’s needles, and even a scorpion’s tail or pinschers, though it’s not limited to those. Special Contaminated: (the player controlled, Antagonist Contaminated) These Contaminated don’t necessarily fall under any of the above categories. If they do, their abilities will be much stronger, and can even fall under multiple categories. Since they are player controlled, no Gigants will be allowed until later on with a plot-related event. The creator may have free liberty with their abilities, though telekinesis and elemental control is not allowed. The Special Contaminated will also keep their human appearance until they call on their abilities and they will warp once they do. Even when in their human forms, the Special Contaminated will not be attacked by the regular Contaminated, due to the genetic modification of their genes that affects their eyes in which humans have a slight reddish outline around them. After she lost her parents, she became ill and bedridden for a while, without anyone but Josh to take care of her. Afterwards, however, she began her studies again with a vigor. All she wants to do is help people, though she always complains about how hard it is when the disease either kills them or renders them unsaveble. Name: Mordekaiser (Codename) Gender: Male Age: 32 Role: Defense Force Weapon: Tavor T.A.R. 21 Abilities: None. Personality: A very strange character who pique's the interest of many. Mordekaiser is often a serious soldier who does not mess around in combat. When out of combat, he is more relaxed but still a bit quiet. Bio: With the formation of the Defense Force, several of Adrene's less savory organizations in were forced to show their hands and secrets in an effort to protect their planet. And thus the man whom was given the codename: Mordekaiser was born. Mordekaiser arrived unannounced in the headquarters of the Defense Force and proceeded to demonstrate his pedigree. Standing at an insane height close to eight feet tall and with a body that looked tough enough to stop a tank round, his very presence intimidated all who saw him. Possessing skills which outmatched almost any candidate, Mordekaiser was granted membership into the Defense Force on a probationary basis and is trusted very little. XD Name: Alex Hayden Gender:Male Age: 21 Role: Defence Force Weapon: Modified Kunai  Browning Highpower  Personality: Alex Hayden is a very smart person, his intelligence above average and is quick at figuring things out. He is not very outgoing and social person. He is always seen alone, but within his aloof image. He is a very warm and kind person once you get to know him. He was seen as calm, collected, and highly perceptive person. Alex didn't like freely speaking about others' pasts, and was said to be a very nice person despite his aloof nature. Bio: Alex joined the Defence Force not by will but by force due to his high IQ. Though he is forced to join he is still willingly to help out as much as he can. Reasons for this is that if he joined, the government or the defence force will provide protection to those he cared and love. Name: Phoenix Zaid Gender: Female Age: 19 Role: Civilian Personality: Quirky, she has some odd tendencies such as talking to herself often. She loves her parents dearly and will do anything to help them. She is also a bookworm. Bio: Before Armageddon, Phoenix was a successful fashion designer, known for her works since she was just out of high school, she had traveled around the world and competed in various competitions as she rose to fame. However, since the Armageddon, Phoenix traveled back to her home town, Martel, as fast as she could in order to make sure her parents were alright and to help them in this time of crisis. She silently continued her career as a fashion designer, but in a simpler and different way. Instead of making truly noteworthy designs, Phoenix became the tailor of the town, fixing and cleaning the clothes of others, and creating new clothes for the people of Martel. Phoenix will accept any reasonable kind of payment for her work, from food and water to new materials for clothes to books; however, if someone comes without a reasonable payment for her, it is assumed that bad things will happen. The few who have refused to give her a payment for her work are deathly afraid to talk about it afterwards. Added Naru's, Roxas', and Naru's characters to the roster, as well as Toyumi's reservations. @PHS and Mistress: Could you please specify which group you're reserving for? I can't give you a definite spot until you do so, and if all the spots fill up in Contaminated even though you wanted one, I'll have no choice to give it to someone else. So once again, please specify. @Roxas: I meant for the suit mentioned in the first post to sort of be, you know, standard issue. Considering that they haven't had much time to develop a lot in the time that the Contamination has spread, thus the mass production of that one suit. Also, the story is just focusing around just this one city. The other Cities in the world have to deal with their own Contamination problems. It would be highly unlikely that they would send one of their highly developed suits out when they would need it for themselves.

Profiles updated.Supposedly wanted to use Maeda instead,but he's playing a major role in the RP,so I used Snake's little sister instead ;P Like said,they'll be observing from afar through the camera attached inside Snake's suit.Note:Maeda will be a NPC character,helping out players from time to time when needed. There are researches looking for a cure, but really no breakthroughs or luck have been made, due to 1, the person dying and their body decaying, or 2, they go berserk and you have to end up killing them. Regarding Special Contaminated: The Special Contaminated won't have the mind deterioration that the regular do. They'll still have their thought processes and such, as well as a (somewhat) stable mind.

Guys, I'm really quite curious; what's with the fixation on bladed weapons? This society is more advanced than ours, maybe not with weaponry but just in general, and in our society, bladed weapons are really outdated and ineffective. I can tell you this much, just stabbing or dismembering a Contaminated's limb will not kill it, let alone stop it. Though if people are so intent on using some type of bladed/melee weapon, I'll throw in something small for short range combat only. There won't be many short range situations because I never pictured this something that would use weapons as the like. @Snake: That's fine, but if you ever want to talk about something with your plans for the researcher, please do it over PM with me. I've already come up with a complete canon plot, so I want to make sure that it wouldn't go against it.

With all the Contaminated slots filled, I'm just waiting for Toyumi's finished Contaminated and for some amends to be made to some other profile. If I haven't pointed anything out, then you're good. I'd still like those who intend to use bladed weapons to reconsider though, because they will be virtually useless. And as a heads up, I'm going to throw whoever wants to go with my character through a little generic contaminated battle to learn the ropes. It won't be generic in a contaminated sense, but in an NPC sense. You'll see what's going to happen when the time comes. Thank you all for joining, and we'll be starting this weekend!

[??? - Whereabouts Unknown - A Few Months Earlier] The room was damp and dark with various contraptions laying around. Tubes, wires, and the sort hooked up to strange tubes that had a vague outline of a person inside. In the dark corner set an old television broadcasting some old event that happened years ago. "This just in, the genetic scientist *TV static* has been pronounced dead. However no body has been found. Speculations believe that that the Contamination killed him and decayed his body." The TV shut off, and the outline of a figure stood up from a desk. No part of him were visible except his glowing, red eyes. As the broadcast ended, he began to chuckle which soon grew into a loud, menacing laugh. ???: They think that just because they survived the Armageddon, that they're safe with the current Contamination status. And the freedom I have from being "dead" has given me much needed time to produce these fruits of my studies. Civilization will cease to exist... and my Contaminated will be the bringers of calamity... The ominous man laughed again; a laugh that would send chills down the spine of even the bravest of fighters. [Joshua Reese - Grust, The capital of Martel - Present Day] It was a nice day, as the people who manipulated the weather system in Grust had decided it to be. Within these domed cities, all weather was simulated since the dome had blocked out all of the forces of nature. It was about 2 PM the Reese residence, Joshua sat calmly on the couch in the living room after returning home from his first round of duty as a member of the Defense Force. He turned on the television and a grimace came to his face; just what he wanted more coverage on the Contamination. "If they have no new information, then why do they even bother bringing it up?" he thought to himself. Josh: They'll only give people a false hope... Maria: Josh? Is that you? A feminine voice called from the second story of the house. Since their parents had died from the Contamination, Josh begun to take care of his little sister, Maria, and she lived with him. She came the stairs and seemed a bit relieved. Maria: Oh good, you're safe. Josh: I keep telling you that I'll be fine, Maria. The suits that they designed for us protect us from the Contaminated. Besides, the cases we're getting are rare. There haven't been any Gigants or Budders in a while. You don't need to worry. Josh smiled warmly, to give his sister a sense of comfort, though she still looked a bit uneasy with his job as a defender. She lost her parents to the Contamination, and she didn't want to lose her brother either. Still a bit unsettled, she asked her brother a question. Maria: When... are you going out next? Josh: Not until 8 for the night sweep, or until we get called in. There shouldn't shouldn't be something that calls us in, don't worry. With that, Maria went back up to her room, and Josh went into the kitchen to make himself something to eat, but got distracted and found himself staring out the window. "If it weren't for the Armageddon, the Contamination, we would be living in a Utopian society. But all the world is now is a prison. Who cares if we have all this technology, I don't see it curing the Contamination..." Josh finished his thoughts and snapped back to his hunger. OOC: Alright, Toyumi is going to make the first plot related post to get things going, so until she posts, go ahead and make small talk with other characters, and have your characters go about their daily lives.

[Annette - Grust, the Captial of Martel - Present Day] [After returning home after another day in the Defense Force, she kicks open the door to her house and slams it afterward. Annette didn't have a place to live, so she found an abandoned factory and made it into her makeshift apartment. She grabs a nearby box of food and starts to eat, and turns on a TV she found(?). She groans when she sees more coverage about the Contamination.] Ugh, when will they stop with this crap already? This is jus' damn borin'. I'd like to see somethin' fun or excitin' for once. ONCE, dammit! [She kicks over a broken machine with enough force to put a hole in it afterwards. While she's frustrated, she takes her gun and shoots a few cans that she left there yesterday, her aim off because of her anger. She decided to calm down, so she sat down and sighed.] |

[Itsuki - Grust, the Captial of Martel, Itsuki's home - Present Day] Another day, another work. That's how it is done when Itsuki came home. Far away from his mother, he always feel to meet her. But his job didn't made his cut at the time. Itsuki : Oh dear.. Wish Old Man was here, he could've bring Mom here. He walk to the fridge and take a bottle of cold soda, drinks and takes his bath. -Minutes later- After taking his bath, he walks into the PC and checking the news. Not to forget his PC has dual monitor (Thanks for his side job before Defense Force.), he could watch some news while checking some updates on the net. As per-usual, he switches into non-news related when it comes into Contamination coverage. Itsuki : That can't be helped. Someone is out there, creating this chaos. Someday, all of this will stop. |

Crossing the threshold of the manor, Hana swiftly walked inside her solitary home, after the contamination, her parents died, but she decided to remain withing the walls of what was once her home. The dusty scarlet carpet leaded the way towards the stairway. The foundation of the manor’s interior was tenaciously constructed, it stood firmly after the Apocalypse. Hana walked up the stairway reminiscing her first round of duty as a member of the Defense Force, silently she reached her chamber and letting her petite bodily structure set on her bed, her long and silky hair scattered around , Hana's eyes explored the surrounding a midnight fixtures and mauve theme composed her bedroom. Her bed remained confidently midway of the sleeping chamber. Her intellectual stall on her left region while a walk-in cabinet on her right segment.Here eyes closed and silence withing was broken, letting out a sight and in sequences she spoke her judgment. Its so quite...  |
