Story Hello there! Welcome to the world of Pokémon. Our world is inhabited by creatures called Pokemon. They come in many different shapes, sizes, colors and types. For some people, Pokemon are pets. Others use them for battle. Personally, I study Pokemon in an attempt to uncover the numerous mysteries surrounding them. You are about to embark upon a journey which will take you all across this vast land, where you will meet new friends, new rivals and during which discover your own reason for becoming a Pokemon Trainer. It will be a long and difficult road, regardless of how you traverse it. Some may stand with you in the choices you make and share your beliefs, while others may oppose you. Personality: Victor is upbeat and polite. He tends to push his Pokemon to their limits, but is careful not to overwork them or injure them as a result of his actions. He tends to be shy around girls, but he overcomes this during battles and is able to remaine completely focused. Appearance:  Bio: Victor has lived his whole life in Primrose Town. He was once close friends with the Gym Leader Rosa, but has since drifted apart from her after she became the Gym Leader and he began his research and preparations for his journey as a trainer. He met his Ralts almost a year and a half ago and she has become one of his only friends. Since Victor has not battled much however, Ralts is still inexperienced. After his battle with Rosa in Primrose, the two had a brief talk about Victor's journey. Rosa revealed her reason for being so aggressive during the battle, that she wanted Victor to stay in Primrose to assist her with her duties as a Gym Leader. Victor stated that he would not be traveling for the rest of his life, but that it was an important thing that he wanted to do. He promised Rosa that he would not be gone for too long, and that once he was finished traveling, he would return to help her with the gym. Rosa was able to accept Victor's wishes and kissed him on the cheek before he headed off. It is assumed that he and Rosa are now in a relationship since their reunion in Primrose, but Victor does not talk about her in much detail with the other trainers, so it is difficult to tell what the extent of the relationship is. He constantly communicates with her through video phones in the various Pokemon Centers. He seems to have lingering worries or stress about this relationship as well. He battled Celine and Drake, with help from Shinji, in the Zephyranth City museum after discovering the Team Vanguard members rooting through the security room. Their victory was rewarded by Zephyranth City authorities with a luxurious room aboard the S.S. Aster. After arriving at a Pokemon Center situated at the base of the mountain leading to Snowdrop Town, Victor once again got in contact with Rosa. He was scolded by her for forgetting to bring appropriate clothing and having to buy some from nearby shops. Victor also transferred his Pidgey to Rosa during this call. He knew that a bird-type Pokemon like Pidgey would be ill-suited for the cold weather and Ice-type gym leader in Snowdrop, but that was only a partial reason. He had noticed that Pidgey seemed to have little interest in battling or exploring new places, preferring to stay perched on Victor's shoulder whenever he was outside of his ball. Victor felt that Pidgey would likely be happier with Rosa in the Primrose Gym, so after discussing it with Pidgey and requesting the favor from Rosa, he transferred Pidgey to her. Judging by his reasons for doing this it is unlikely that he will ask for Pidgey back during the remainder of his SÅtÅ League journey. Victor seems to have an unfortunate habit of getting into painful situations. So far he has had his life partially drained by Adele at Mt. Verain, was slammed by Vaporeon into the side of a boat during the Lake Syrain Aqua Festival, was nearly crushed under two exhibits during a battle in the Zephyranth Museum, received a punch in the back from his Gardevoir after joking about taking the only bedroom on the S.S. Aster, was pulled headfirst into a wall by his Mismagius (albeit, accidentally), landed back-first on a Skarmory and has so far nearly been struck by Vurtia's beam attacks twice. Gear: Pokegear (Functions as a phone/clock/radio and has limited GPS capabilities), Pokedex, spare clothing, some food (including some Pokemon food), a potion (to treat Pokemon injuries), flashlight, raincoat, map (large fold out map). First Name: Sarina Last Name: Iris Title: Professor Age: 27 Gender: Female Appearance:  Personality: Professor Iris is an expert in the field of Pokemon, but is very laid back in her work, usually tired and yawns frequently during most of the day. She delegates most of her other work to assistants at her lab so that she is able to work on research of her choice in private. She has taken a liking to the young trainer Adele, while she seems to hold some unexplained animosity toward the other trainers, Victor in particular. She was shown to have a lot of concern for the group of trainers after discovering that they had gone missing and could not be contacted by phone. She checked with the Police and Rosa, and asked for Marina and Bryant to search for the group in an attempt to track them down. Whether she was generally worried about them, or more concerned about how this would impact her personally, has not been determined. This event did highlight the fact that she has direct contact to at least three of the gym leaders in the region. Marina and Bryant in particular are shown to immediately assist her upon request in tracking down the group of trainers. While the trainers were in Zephyranth City, Professor Iris was part of a meeting involving Professor Sepal and Adele. The two women offered their support and guidance to the young girl as they had been noticing the stressful time she was having. During this meeting, Professor Iris momentarily displayed a much softer and emotional side of herself after taking off her glasses. This side was quickly suppressed however, when Professor Sepal made note of it. Unknown to the trainers, Professor Iris and Sepal both went through a traumatic incident in their youth which may be the cause of Professor Iris' current disposition. Although the details of the incident haven't been mentioned, Adele seems to have been a partial cause of the memories resurfacing. Also unknown to the trainers, she has had a man named Chase following them since Syringa and updating her on their progress. It is not yet clear why she is doing this, since she has regular contact with the trainers, but it may be due to the group constantly getting involved in dangerous situations. She appears to know Chase very well, but she has never mentioned him to the trainers before, so the extent of their history is still unclear. First Name: Juno Last Name: Sepal Title: Professor Age: 28 Gender: Female Appearance:  Personality: Professor Sepal is much cheerier and more lighthearted than her colleague Professor Iris. She enjoys teasing Professor Iris and doing things that she knows will strike a chord with her. Professor Sepal is also impulsive, often doing things before checking with others who may be impacted by it, such as evolving Victor's Misdreavus to demonstrate an evolution stone and hugging Adele on multiple occasions. According to Professor Iris, Professor Sepal is a 'clingy' person. Bio: Professor Juno Sepal was Professor Iris' colleague in the duo's earlier years. She eventually split off from Professor Iris' preferred research to pursue her own interests at the Zephyranth Museum. During the group's stop at Zephyranth City, Professor Sepal took them in at the museum to shelter them from the storm. She provided the group with an evolution stone each as a gift and stated that she could get replacements from Bryant, showing that she apparently has the same connections to the gym leaders as Professor Iris. Professor Sepal also initiated a talk with Adele and Professor Iris. The two Professor's expressed their concern with Adele's emotional state and offered their support and guidance to help her. She has a strong passion for her work in the museum and as a Pokemon Professor. In a private conversation with Professor Iris she expressed complete satisfaction with her current life. She stated that while having someone special in her life would be nice, she had everything she wanted in life already. She also displayed a surprising amount of anger after Celine of Team Vanguard destroyed two of the museum exhibits during a battle with Victor. It was only after Adele appeared beside her that she calmed down and instructed her Aggron to guard Drake and Celine. Pokemon Team: Aggron (M) - [Flash Cannon, Heavy Slam, Stone Edge, Iron Defense] Vurtia - Vurtia is going to be the 'Legendary/Plot Pokemon' for this RP. I made up the name, which is why it sounds as stupid and meaningless (and non-Pokemon) as it does, while the image is, I believe, a fan-made Pokemon. I haven't seen the Gen 5 Pokemon yet though, so I'm hoping that it is indeed fan-made and not actually a new Pokemon. More details about it will become available as the plot moves on, but for now all you really need to know is its size, it's about 40 feet-  Team Vanguard - Team Vanguard are the main antagonists in this RP. Much about them is unknown at the moment, especially regarding their motives. The only detail about them known so far is that they are actively pursuing Vurtia. Regular members of the team dress in long white military style coats. Higher ranking members dress more decoratively (for example, having gold fabric along the shoulders). They almost always operate in groups of 3 or more in order to stand their ground against Police forces and to better evade capture. It is reported that Team Vanguard have bases hidden in many of the larger cities, as well as hideouts in every major town. Despite these reports, the group has managed to remain hidden and are difficult to pin in one location.  - Minor Characters - Name: Celine Team Vanguard Rank: Commodore Age: 23 Gender: Female Status: In Custody Name: Drake Team Vanguard Rank: Commodore Age: 24 Gender: Male Status: In Custody Name: ??? (Elderly Woman) Team Vanguard Rank: Admiral of the Fleet (Leader of Team Vanguard) Age: 78 Gender: Female Allegiance: Team Vanguard Appearance:  Known Pokemon Team: Unknown Information: The Elderly Woman is the leader of Team Vanguard. She has spoken with Celine and Drake on multiple occasions recently due to the renewed appearances of Vurtia and the issues with the group of new trainers. She is usually very calm and collected, but she recently lost her temper with Drake during a report on the incident at Mt. Verain. She quickly apologized for her outburst, but the reaction by Drake and Celine to her anger shows that it is a very rare and serious occurrence. Her motivations are unclear, but it is clear that she needs Vurtia in order to accomplish Team Vanguard's goal. To achieve this, she has Team Vanguard set up in a very structured way. She has two commander's in the Eastern part of SÅtÅ, one in the northwestern mountains, two in the West, and four in the Southern waters. She appears to have a personal love of the Navy, which is the reason for Team Vanguard's theme. Name: Neva Team Vanguard Rank: Commodore Age: 21 Gender: Female Allegiance: Team Vanguard Appearance:  Known Pokemon Team: Unknown Information: The only thing known about Neva so far is that she is a commander in Team Vanguard. She operates out of a Team Vanguard base located in Aster City, but was forced to take up temporary residence in an old base located in the Snowdrop Mountains due to the storm damage in Aster City. Her appearance can be slightly unnerving to those around her. Name: Chase Age: 29 Gender: Male Appearance: Pokemon Team: Unknown Information: Chase followed the group of trainers from Syringa Town up to Aster City under orders from Professor Iris. He seems to have a history with Professor Iris and possibly Professor Sepal, but this has not been elaborated on. Who he really is and what he looks like is currently unknown the trainers. He is shown to be somewhat of a skirt chaser. After following the trainers to the outskirts of Aster City, he decided to give up on spying on the group after noticing two women who seemed to be traveling to the beaches of Dahlia City. Professor Iris cursed him for doing so, but he proceeded to laugh it off and tease her before ending the call.    |

Appearance:  Bio: Ever since childhood, Roan was fascinated by the living world around him, especially by the interactions of Pokemon with each other. First Name: Fenris Last Name: Novus Age: 19 Gender: Male Hometown: Snowdrop Town Trainer Goal: He is going to test out his theoretical knowledge in practice and is going to challenge the gym leaders and intends to compete in Pokemon League. But this won't stop him from joining any other event that catches his eye. Personality: He's a happy-go-lucky kind of guy taking things as they come, though he has a stubborn side as well, as he refuses to give up, no matter the obstacle. He also has a peculiar style of dressing. Appearance:  Bio: Fenris has always loved playing with pokemon and has read a lot about them, including works by professors Oak, Elm and Rowan. He is starting his journey now after studying them for so long. His partner, Eve, has a dislike for staying inside her pokeball, preferring to stay outside. Fenris has no objection with this and even occasionally let's Eve ride on his shoulder or on top of his head. If she gets tired Fenris let's her sleep in his hood. First Name: Adele Last Name: Nash Age: 17 (16 at start of journey) Gender: Female Hometown: Verain City Trainer Goal: Adele wants to become a Pokemon professor when she grows up, so her current goal is to study Pokemon. She also wants to collect all of the gym badges, but to her this goal is not as important to her. Later on in the course of the RP, Adele realizes that she truly does love battling, and believes that it, along with observing Pokemon in their natural habitat, is the best way of learning about any particular Pokemon. Personality: Quite shy at first, but is a cheery person once you get to know her. She is very knowledgeable about Pokemon. Later on, Adele learns to break out her shell more. She still keeps many comments to herself, but she is now much more honest and open around others. Appearance:  Bio: Adele has always been a shy girl. When she was young, she never made any friends because she thought that she might ruin their happiness (One of her fears is that she will ruin the happiness of others). This started to change when she met Eloise, her Happiny, about three months ago, when her parents gave it to her for her sixteenth birthday. Eloise became very close to Adele, and eventually gave her the courage to speak out a bit more and become less shy. Adele still is shy, but not as shy as she had been before she met Eloise. Adele has always admired all Pokemon professors, she has read all of their works and idolizes them. She finds the nature of Pokemon, both physical and mental, fascinating. She also takes interest in how Pokemon can alter human nature as well, of which Adele is a perfect example for, considering Eloise made her more confident and less shy. Gear: Pokedex, Pokegear, clothes, snacks, running shoes, sleeping bag, Pokemon food, Healing supplies, etc. Preferred types of Pokeballs: Great Balls, however at nighttime or in caves she prefers to use Dusk Balls. Edit: The map is almost complete and I have it posted on the first post. I say mostly because there are still a few places I need to add and name, but the main cities and towns are listed, so you should be able to finish your profiles now. The only Gym leader who is in the correct order at the moment is Rosa. Note: I would like everyone to avoid using Nightshade Village as their hometown. I already have plans with regards to the Gym there, and having someone who was born in the village means that they could technically answer/explain everything. Also, the title is still being worked on. I'm not sure if I really like the sound of it >.>. I will also be contacting Mistress to complete her profile before we get too far in. Alright guys, let's start. Things may go a little rough at first while things play out, but hopefully we can make this in to a success. Everyone will start out in Juniper Town and find their way to Professor Iris's lab. --------------------------------------Start------------------------------------ [Juniper Town - Road] Victor had finally arrived in Juniper Town after traveling for several days from his home in Primrose. Weeks earlier, he had received a letter from Professor Iris asking him to report to her lab. He had become very excited after learning that she had accepted his request to help her in her studies while he began his long awaited journey. He stopped in front of a large facility that seemed rather out of place in the rural town. It was isolated from the main part of the town with lots of open space all around it. "This must be it." He took a white Pokeball from his hip and held it out in front of him. A faint red light shot out and a Ralts appeared. "Okay. Make sure you are on your best behavior. From what I've been told, Professor Iris can be irritable this early in the morning, and I really don't want her to reject my request after coming so far." Ralts nodded and held her arms up, waiting to be picked up. Victor lifted her into his arms and looked ahead at the large building. |

[Tsukumo Murasame| Road] I travelled from my hometown, Aster City. From on a boat to Zephyranth City to Juniper Town. It took me awhile, but I have finally arrived at last with Kenshin walking beside me. 'Well I guess, today is the day. This is exciting isn't it, kenshin,' I said. 'Rou-u!' cried Kenshin(Riolu) Bucking up my courage, I open the gate to Professor Iris Lab. I walked inside with Kenshin and head for the large building. |

[Mokou Fujiwara | Road to Juniper Town] As Mokou sat down near a tree on a hill, she looked over the hill and she saw the town, which was rural and busy. "That must be Jupiter Town, I guess." Mokou thought. Mokou took out the pokeball given to her parents as a child. Then she threw the pokeball in the air, and a red light came out onto the ground. Her pokemon, Chimchar, appeared a few seconds after. Chimchar chirped happily as it looked at Mokou. "Are you ready, Chimchar?" Mokou said as she smiled at Chimchar. Chimchar climbed onto Mokou's shoulders and chirped at her happily. Mokou stood up and continued to follow the road, confident this trip will go well. |

[Reiji Kisaragi | Road to Juniper Town] Reiji was seen cycling really speedy to Juniper Town. Reiji : [That must be Juniper Town] Reiji stopped outside Professor Iris's Lab. Folding his bike, and then takes out his pokeball. A squirtle came out from it. Reiji : "Alright Sanshiro, be on your best behaviour, don't mess up. This is the start of our journey to be the best." Sanshiro (the squirtle) nodded happily. Reiji picks up Sanshiro and held him with one hand. He looked at the large building for a while. |

[Fenris Novus - Juniper Town - Professor Iris' Lab] Fenris had arrived at Juniper Town the last day, the journey had been easy since one of his father's friends had lended his Pidgeot to him and he had been able to fly straight to Juniper Town instead of taking the long ground route from Snowdrop Town. He had met Professor Iris very briefly yesterday and she had told him to wait until the others arrive, so that's what he had done. Now he was sitting in a waiting room at the lab, petting Eve as she lay curled on his lap. He noticed that other people had started arriving at the lab. It seemed like they were just like him, new trainers about to start their journey. He shook Eve waking her up, she stretched and then looked at him, tilting her head as she did so. Fenris: The others seem to have started to arrive, I thought you wanted to be awake when they did. Eve rubbed her head against his chest and then jumped to the floor. Eve was a bit smaller than Eevee's usually were, but she was quite energetic and loved playing around with just about everyone. Fenris took a small ball out of his pocket and threw it to Eve, who started chasing it around the waiting room, happily wagging her tail as she went. Fenris looked as she went, he leaned back on the couch he was sitting. Fenris: It begins today... |

[Adele - Juniper Town] Adele has just arrived in Juniper Town. It was a small rural town, different from Verain City, where she had grown up. It wasn't too hard for her to locate the Professor Iris' lab, since it was out of place for such a small and quaint town. Adele looked down at Eloise, who had been walking beside her. "This is it," Adele said, "I'll have to go in there and then... Then my own journey will start." Eloise cried out happily, which caused Adele to smile. Right, I can do this, Adele thought. She walked up to the gates of the lab and let herself in, then went up to the lab itself. Adele wasn't sure whether to let herself in or not, so she just knocked at the door and waited for someone to respond. Would anyone even hear me knocking? Adele thought, Or am I just making a fool out of myself for standing out here? Adele looked down to Eloise, who cried happily again. Adele smiled and bent down to pet Eloise. Well, things will work out somehow, Adele thought, I'm probably just overreacting because I'm nervous... This is all new to me. Adele stood up, and continued to wait outside the lab. |

[Professor Iris's Lab - Juniper Town] Victor made his way inside and noticed several other people his age around the entrance. He stayed quiet for a little while before deciding to introduce himself. Before he could do so however, a young woman exited one of the nearby rooms and yawned loudly. She took a lazy look around the room and seemed a little bored. "Well, I see that you all made it safe and sound. Most of you anyway. I'm still missing two." She ran her hand through her hair and continued. "Oh well. I am Professor Iris. I'm sorry that I had to have you come all the way out to see me, but I'm a little bit too busy to leave the lab for an extended period of time." She looked around at each person and took notice of their Pokemon. "Excellent, everyone already has a Pokemon of their own. That means I won't have to go out and try to catch any to give to you. Let us cut straight to your reason for being here then." She made her way over to a table and pulled a sheet off of it. Eight Pokedex's were lain out across the table and were accompanied by small cases. "Since you have all expressed interest in helping me with my research, I suppose I am obligated to at least assist you, and seeing as how you already have your first Pokemon, I guess I can allow you to have these. The Pokedex will provide you with information on Pokemon you find along the way. You may also be interested in a badge case, that is, if any of you actually plan to take the Pokemon League Challenge." She rubbed her eyes with her fingers, lifting her glasses up temporarily in the process. "One last thing. Since you are all only just starting out as Pokemon Trainers, I think it might be a good idea to stay in groups if any of you ever split up. Just a bit of friendly advice. So, why don't you all introduce yourselves. I must admit that I have forgotten who most of you are myself." Victor stepped forward and looked towards the other trainers assembled in the room. "Um, well, my name is Victor Arland. This is my Ralts. I guess we'll all be seeing quite a bit of each other for a while." |

[Mokou Fujiwara | Juniper Town] Finally arriving at Juniper Town, Mokou looks around at the houses, which seems so different from her hometown, which is quite big. Mokou asks a passerby the location of Professor Iris' Lab. "Thank you." said Mokou as she walks off to the direction of the lab. After finding the lab, Mokou looks at the building. "...So this is the lab." says Mokou, after sighing. Mokou proceeds to walk inside the building. [Mokou Fujiwara | Professor Iris' Lab | Juniper Town] After making her way inside, Mokou walks up to a crowd. In the front, a black-haired woman with glasses, who was Professor Iris. Mokou stands a bit in the back and listens as Victor introduces himself. |

This is Kenshin, my Riolu. Glad to meet you all,' I said this shyly, but was then kicked in the leg by kenshin. 'Yow!' I cried out loud in pain. 'Rou-u!' Kenshin cried out with anger the fact I am being shy now and not showing the usual courage. 'I understand, kenshin. I'll try to be less shy from now on, thanks for the kick, kenshin,' I said this with a grin. I put out my hand and which kenshin gave me a high-five. I turn back to the others. 'Sorry about that,' I said before I retreat back into the crowd. |

The black haired man with ralts is Victor, and the silver haired man with shiny Riolu named Kenshin is Tsukumo. Reiji decides to introduces himself as well while carrying Sanshiro. Reiji : "The name is Reiji Kisaragi, and this is Sanshiro... My Squirtle." Sanshiro cried out with a happy tone. Reiji : "Heh, cheerful as always." He pets Sanshiro while he said that. Reiji : "Nice to meet you all." He returns to the group. |

[Fenris Novus - Juniper Town - Professor Iris' Lab] Fenris had followed Professor Iris to where the other new trainers were. After Iris' speech they started introducing themselves. Fenris decided to take his turn after man named Reiji. Fenris: Hello everyone, I'm Fenris Novus, a pleasure to meet you all. Eve had been hiding in his hood, but had decided to take a look around and her head was visible. Fenris: And this is my partner Eve. Eve climbed on the top of his head and looked around from there. Fenris rolled his eyes a bit. Fenris: She's a playful little girl. Eve then jumped down from his head, but Fenris caught her before she hit the floor. Eve wagged her tail happily as she let out a happy cry. Fenris: I hope we all can get along. |

[Adele - Juniper Town] Adele looked at the Professor with admiration as she told them they should introduce themselves. She listened to the others as they introduced themselves, most of them introducing themselves with ease. Adele was quietly listening to the others introducing themselves, before she spoke up too. "I'm Adele Nash," Adele said quietly, "It's nice to meet you." Adele looked at Professor Iris and managed a small smile. "And it really is an honor to meet you, Professor," Adele said, blushing from what she just said. Eloise poked Adele in the leg, and Adele looked down at her. "Oh, and this is Eloise." Adele said, then looked around at the others before looking back down at Eloise because of her shyness. Everyone seemed so nice, Adele just hoped that she didn't make herself appear distant or distracted wih her introduction. |

@Naru - Sorry about that. I thought your character was already at the lab. @Everyone - Oh yeah, I forgot to go over one other small thing. As far as our characters money is concerned, we will just make the excuse that they have been saving up over the past few years for their journey. It seems a little silly to get money from battling trainers in terms of an RP mechanic. Just don't go overboard (like having your character buy big ticket items as if money was no object). [Juniper Town - Professor Iris's Lab] "Good to meet all of you. Well, that is about all I have to say to all of you. I know it was a short meeting, but that is the reason why I requested you all to come here so early. You should have plenty of time to begin traveling. I suggest that you all head to Barberry Town after leaving here. It is a little out of the way, and there is no gym or anything of particular importance there, but it does have a shop where you can stock up on everything you think you might need. Of course, it's once again up to you to decide whether or not you take it. I feel it necessary to warn you however that you will have to travel through the Primrose Forest in order to reach the next town." Victor raised his hand nervously and Professor Iris shifted her gaze to him. "Yes?" "Excuse me Professor, but isn't there a path along the coast which leads around the bulk of the forest? That is what I took to get here." "Yes, I suspect that most of you did travel here by that method, however, as of yesterday that path is now closed. Some sort of disturbance there has forced the police from Primrose to close the route to the public. I'm afraid I am not at liberty to discuss what the disturbance involves, but I do have a duty to inform you, lest you waste days of travel just to have to turn around and come back here. Now then, collect your Pokedex's and cases, I will provide you with directions once everyone is ready to go." Professor Iris turned towards Adele and placed her hand on her back, leading her out of earshot from the group. She spoke quietly as she reached inside her lab coat for something. "I like you kid, you seem rather enthusiastic about meeting me and I recall your letter coming off the same way. I want you to hang on to this." She wrote a small note on the back of a card that she had removed from her coat before handing it to Adele. "That will get you in to the closed off area of the museum in Zephyranth. It's normally only open to scientists, Pokemon Professors and archeologists, but I think you deserve to have a look. Just be careful in there, I take the blame if anything happens to the exhibits inside that area. Try and make me proud." |
