Sure have! Arashi is pretty good, and I actually listen to them despite the fact they are basically the equivalent of an american boy band. My favorite song by them, BY FAR, is " Tokei Jikake no Umbrella ". The beat may sound strange at first, but the beat at the chorus is absolutely amazing and makes the song that much better then the others. Overall, all the music by Arashi is well done and catchy, and thus they are a group that I have plenty of songs by. |

I have, but don't personally listen to their music. I used to know the dance from Kittou Daijoubu though. XD Their latest concert DVD broke Oricon records substantially.

It broke Oricon records ..? Really? Isn't that the main/most popular chart in Japan? I knew Arashi was well-liked and pretty popular, but I didn't realize it was like THAT. Congrats to them, though. |

Who hasn't heard of Arashi? >___> They always do so well on the Oricon charts and sell the most singles what seems like every year...last year, 4 of their singles were in the top 5 of having most singles sold!! O____o But I don't like them. Too boy band for me and I think they're a bit overrated -o-

Wow, I listen to them and didn't even realize how popular they were. That's crazy, xD! I wouldn't say they are overrated though. While I, personally, don't like them THAT much [ Like top 5 or better Like ] I can see why they are that popular. There's a large group of fans that love boy bands and whatnot, and they actually turn out good enough music that I'm a somewhat big fan of their work -- And I'm not really a boy band guy, haha. |

Yeah Oricon is the main overall music charts in Japan, worldly known and awesome. It's kind of like the Billboard charts here in America, in terms of adding every musical release together regardless of band or genre. But yeah I agree with BTL, they're overrated, but that's every typical boy band in Asia, they sell out to fans, so I never really take them seriously, but yeah their sales are pretty fearsome. :O Like that one concert, they broke Oricon charts where the #2 slot, whatever it was, was incredibly far behind.

Thank god someone agrees with me :3 Arashi just released a single called "Monster" and I'm already gonna bet it'll be one of the top 5 this year of having the most singles sold. The reasons why I think Arashi has been doing so well all these years is because of their looks and fan girl (or boy, I won't discriminate) appealing music, which, when you think about it, is average and sounds the same as any other boy band. I don't think their voices stand out at all either. If I listened to NEWS and Arashi at the same time, I would probably think they came from the same group -___- Their music is not the greatest thing I have ever heard, and it never will be. Sorry for being so harsh, boy bands are not my most favorite thing in the world >_____<

They still turn out some quality songs. I actually don't like the new Monster single, specifically for the reason it sounds recycled and the same as other groups. You just have to find the right songs, but they certainly have some good ones. Again, I'm not a boyband guy e.e; .. |

I think I started a Johnny's thread here a long time ago, and I mentioned Arashi. That's when I was in my Japanese boy band phase, which I am now past. However, Arashi is one of the groups that is pretty passable, especially Riida's vocals. Each member has some great talent and I still like to listen to their music and watch their dramas. My personal favorites from them are Truth, Beautiful Days, and Love so Sweet. |

OMG. They are amazingly very popular in Japan and very overrated in my opinion. The only reason I think is because they host so many TV shows that hook teenage girls like Josou Paradise (cross-dressing) or some random game show or contest even with unordinary people singing and dancing e.g nanshiki globe. They were even talking to Johnny Depp on some show with kids. Their music isn't that great and I don't why some songs get put so high in the chart but again that's my opinion. :P Hope I don't fuel any flames. xD |

Ah well...this is my further opinion. [No offence or opposing anyone] 1.Their songs are nice...in their own ways.it's just that not everyone like.It's normal thing. 2.Overrated. How can they not overrated??It's the same for other JE's boys,like KAT-TUN and NEWS.And ARASHI has been around for 10 years!!Of course they would have many fans and overrated. 3.They din become famous only coz of their fansgirl and Looks...I can said that,coz i like them not coz of their looks[for your info,i'm a girl]...it's their talents and voices,songs. Imagine,how can a band still going on if they dun have any skills in singing or such?? Fansgirl and looks alone can promise their career 100%. 4.Actually to say the truth,they are not so HANDSOME nor GOOD-LOOKInG.They just have TYPICAL japanese people face.It's their personalities and songs that attract fans.Think,Will you like a band whose songs are not bad but personalities are bad?NO for me. 5.Of course,not only their singing make them famous,they did act in J-Dramas.Well,i cant denied that some people start listening to Arashi after watching their dramas.In a way,they get their popularity more.It's normal to be overrated. @BTL> Not really,not everyone heard of Arashi.Even in my country,few people know bout Arashi.Only those who love J-dramas/J-pop know bout them.Mostly people know is Korean boy band,e.g.super junior and etc.
