Miku wants a hug. :00 *hugshugs* This is so HAWT. xD I envy your skills. :< I was on a semi-hiatus, and I thought I would like to change the style of coloring. It was such a big mess. @Ich Does her pose remind you of something similar you've seen before? Cause' your comment sounds like you're amused, hahaha. Care to tell? :) As for thoughts on your drawings: Man...it makes me realize I need more work on perspective and dynamic poses. Mine never seems to give a sense of 'wow-ness' enough like yours do <3 @Cel Really? I still like how you colored her though. Oh, Yuki!!! X3 I've always wanted to try this kind of colouring style, but I'm such a procrastinator and in the end always end up going for the safe and comfortable route, namely pens, pencil and ink xD I should really start challenging myself..... ----------------------------------------------------------- Will be on going a semi-hiatus myself after this. My mind's too focused on work that there's no space left for inspiration to draw something new :( Anyways, the first pic is a request by my cousin who lives in Singapore. he asked for something 'darker' and honestly I didn't get what he meant at first (and still don't even now), but I told him I'd give it a shot. He wanted a crow to be the central figure and left me lots of freedom for creativity for everything else. The moment I started however, my hands as well as my head had other ideas in mind and this happened. Now it looks like the girl is the central figure and not the crow (I think?), but it was too late to change anything because by the then I've already inked the outline in pen ^^; At first the blanket-like thing she's lying on was plain white. But I was dissatisfied by how plain it looked that in the end I just added some random pattern from the top of my head until I was finally satisfied. Did some editing in PS to make the black more contrasting. He liked it so much he was willing to pay me for the original. I haven't sent it to him yet since we're having problems with money tranfers. So I guess, he'll have to wait until I drop by Singapore to give it to him personally, ahahaha! ---------------- The second one was a piece I've left hanging in my sketchbook for several weeks before finally getting off my procrastinating behind to finish it. If there's a story to this, I wouldn't know. All I know was that I wanted something with a boy holding a leaf umbrella and flying fishies xD I might color this, but I'm not sure when with all the work that's occupying my time. Hmm...any takers?    |

-____- Damn. It's been a while. Glad to see our veteran artists have greatly improved & that we've got a whole new batch of fresh artists in the forum. @ Everyone - So uh.....who missed me? @ Ichivon - You've by far improved from when I last saw your work. Have to say that in the last 2 years I haven't really been drawing. I've been struck with artist block & I'm lucky if I can even get 2 drawings a year. Looking at your work now, I feel like I've fallen too far behind. Here I see you've tremendously improved & where am I? Not entirely where I left off, but not much of an improvement either. Can't even draw as quick or as creatively as I used to. Now it takes me tons of hours looking up different references just to get a vague idea to put into a concept piece. I've lost it & I need to ask, when you have days when you can't get anywhere with your art, where do you turn to for motivation? At this point 2 years is just ridiculous. |

Its not really easy to say that "this is my style" or something unless your going to experiment with various ways. Regarding bout the motivation thing, first of all, im not just making illustrations for hobby now, its my own part time business ;] so thats why im really motivated, but there are several times that im lost so what I always do is to get away from drawing for several days atleast, doing all the things that I want then head for a bookstore and read some magazines. Its really a good thing to read several mags since they all consist of lots of ideas regarding poses, BGs and ideas. This is my own way btw, I dont want you to copy it xDD just some ideas that I want to share atleast ;] why not make my work as one of your motivation? ;]

@ Ichivon: I have trouble finding motivation in anything these days. Normally I can draw a whole picture & color it within the same day. Now it takes weeks to finish one drawing. I get depressed just thinking about it. I feel like I'm a little better than I used to be but even that's a miracle with how rarely I draw now. If I were as active as I used to be then I'd be caught up with you. One of the last pictures I drew was around the second semester of my senior year in high school, & even that took forever. Now it's taking forever just to color it. This is it. I named her Thorbjørg  |

Overall they're both good. @Oda : Your gf is epic! 8D As for tag team, I love the color/saturation used. @Ninja Soup : Cool. *crickets* Is this thread--dead? I'd plan on submitting a drawing or 2 to keep this thread alive. Nothing fancy, just 2 linearts due to the overload of works since the semester starts. I've stopped cg for the time being. ;( ------------------------------------------- @Ich; I liked the perspectives used on both "Burning Passion" and "Innocence". So I'm forcing myself to get back into the swing of things whether I like it or not. I need to remake my character concepts. So I looked over my main characters & this is one of the last drawings I did. Just yesterday I looked at her & didn't like the costume I initially drew. So today I finished altering her.
