Hi! anyone got any head great j-rock that give a powerful beat that life up your day to recommend? brand like B'z, Abingdon Boys School, l'arc-en-ciel, Uverworld and Orange range they all have great song and song that light up my day for me in the morning. hope u guy can recommend somemore to me. cheer Kenwe |

Dude I have tons! ^__^ -Orange Range -FLOW -Maximum the Horomone -Uverworld -The Beat Crusaders -High and Mighty Color -Aqua Timez -Ska Ora Band -Asian Kung-Fu Generation -Kotoni Kenya (Not sure if thier J-Rock or J-Pop. . .) -JINN -Last Alliance -ALI PROJECT ( Not sure if J-Rock or J-Pop. . .) isnt it Ore Ska Band and not Ska Ora Band? unless there really is such a band then i dont know. my bad. Well, if you talk about j-rock, i recommend VAMPS CHERRYBLOSSOM SCANDAL ONE OK ROCK ELLEGARDEN would recommend visual kei bands but yeah, you gotta look up visual kei first. X:   |

eh, most of the good J-rocks have been listed above... I'm gonna add some more that's not in the above lists, only J-rock though, I'm not that familiar with VKs - Janne Da Arc (if you're looking for pop-rock and catchy songs, it doesn't get any catchier than JDA. They're a VK in their old days, that's why there's this 'dark' feeling in their works. Actually, only a few of their songs has a 'light' feeling) - BACK-ON (J-rock with a lot emphasis on pop & synthetic sounds, not that it's bad mind you, it's actually pretty good) - BREAKERZ (a good newcomer in mainstream J-rock with a very good vocal and catchy songs. A bit similar to UVERworld, but less the synthetic sounds) - doa (ever wonder how if the supporting members of B'z make their own band? Ohta Shinichiro and Tokunaga Akihito provide a great poppish vocal harmony in which you can also find in most of B'z works) - Base Ball Bear (If you like "AKFG", "ELLEGARDEN", "BEAT CRUSADERS", generally J-rock that is influenced by punk, you're gonna like BBB. Most of their compositions sound similar to those bands, only with a lot more pop touch AND A FEMALE BASSIST + BACKING VOCAL, which is a major plus point lol) (fanboymode) and since you like B'z, you should check out all of their songs (322 songs in total, 508 if you include their solo works and 'omake' songs), guaranteed to be satisfying, and it's also fun to hear the evolution of Inaba's vocal from husky to explosive ('88 to '09). One of the charm points of B'z is that their songs are very dynamic, with a very wide variety of genres (Hard Rock, Pop, Blues, Dance, Power Ballad, etc.) yet all of them has the distinct sound of B'z (wide vocal range, heavy emphasis on melody, and prominent guitarwork throughout the whole song). So when you think that they sounded blues like Aerosmith in the 80s complete with high pitched screams (Fireball, Mou Kari Makka), the next thing you know is they're full of synthetic techno sounds like KOTOKO (ROCK man, Swimmer Yo!). When you get bored with their power ballads with too much orchestra (GOLD, Ocean), the next song might be a total cheery pop song that is more suitable for JE idols (MVP, Koi no Summer Session). Or they will even surprise you by combining all of those in one song! (CALLING, Raging River) Seriously, you will never get bored with their songs in your playlist. (/fanboymode) *cough* sorry bout that, my fanboymode berserked, my bad ^^;;

Check out a band called RADWIMPS, they are fricking amazing! They don't do anime music but it's one of the best bands out there! They are like mix mash of Veltpunch and Back-On. AKFG RADWIMPS Uverworld Veltpunch  |
