As some of you might know by its title that it is based on the fantasy novel The Inheritance Cycle, which consists of the books Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and an as yet untitled fourth book written by Christopher Paolini. Like in the novel this RP is about Dragon Riders, but whats different from the novel is that this RP begins in the time when the Riders are still in their glory. But we'll still have to fight Galbatorix, but you won't know when he will appear, but he won't appear so early in the RP well... you'll see... Well then... for those who doesn't know... Alagaesia is the fictional world of the Inheritance Cycle. This is where the story takes place... This is how you pronunce it: "al-uh-GAY-zee-uh". The map below:  There are 9 races in Alagaesia, but only 5 races are usable in this RP. The usable races are: Humans - Humans seem to populate most of the known world of Alagaësia, though they came from across the sea relatively recently. A group of twenty warriors found Alagaësia, and although their exact cause for coming has not been revealed, it's quite possible that the Ra'zac made them leave. They landed in Surda from lands far south. They lived, began expanding themselves and adapting to this new place they had found, and lived in peace. Here they first learned of the existence of Dwarves, who they frequently traded with for a few years before they left for isolation. The warriors came three hundred years after the formation of the Dragon Riders. The warriors went northwest and began to settle in a nice area of isolated land for two thousand years. After two thousand years or so, King Palancar, current King of the humans from whence the warriors had came from two thousand years previous, arrived in Alagaësia. First they arrived in Surda, and then found Palancar Valley, which was where the original humans had settled. Palancar Valley was named after the human's king, Palancar. Palancar then began to construct a mighty state. Palancar learned from the humans that this land was populated by short, hairy beasts that stole their children. These beasts were, of course, the Dwarves, and they did not actually steal human children, but the Dwarves were forgotten over time and remembered as such. Palancar wanted to expand his boundaries and fought against the Elves and Dwarves three times, and lost all three times. Elves - The elves take cover in Du Weldenvaden and are the most magical race in the land other than dragons and spirits. The elves migrated to the land of dwarves and dragons apparently fleeing danger from across the sea. The elves formed a pact with the dragons, following the war between the elves and the dragons, in which Eragon, the first Dragon Rider found a white dragon egg and raised it as a companion. In this pact the Dragon Riders were formed and magic began to take its effect on the elven race, giving them greater speed, strength, and magical abilities. Elves cannot grow beards or have any body hair, unless they choose to change their form. The elves are often referred to as "fair folk" and speak in the ancient language, the language of magic. Dwarves - A race older than the Elves, and of no small power. They are master smiths and builders, having constructed some of Alagaësia's most imposing structures, among them Tronjheim, the crown jewel of their achievement, a city in the shape of an artificial mountain of white marble one mile tall, hidden in the gargantuan crater of the dormant volcano, Farthen-Dur, in the Beor Mountains. The Dwarves are sheltered in the Beor Mountains with Hrothgar as their King. The dwarves use their own language, in which they are called knurlagn. Urgals - A tribal race of creatures having orc or troll-like qualities; fought against other races for many years, Urgals are generally seen as little more than beasts by the other races of Alagaësia, due mainly to their society being based around defeating as many opponents as possible, regardless of their race or intent, an unfortunate trait that has led to centuries of Urgals raiding humans and the humans raiding them in return, creating a deeply rooted bitterness. Kull - Elite Urgal warriors, used as shock troops and bodyguards to chieftains (who themselves are Kull, too). An Urgal is considered Kull when it grows over eight feet tall (which is large even by Urgal standards). Dragons - The dragons are a species of enormous reptiles with magical properties. After their pact with the elves, and later humans, dragon eggs set aside for the Riders would only hatch for their chosen riders. The wild dragons would only be born under the right conditions to satisfy their growth. Once dragons reach a few months of age they can breathe fire. Dragons rely on magic in order to fly and never stop growing. If a dragon dies it can transfer its consciousness to its Elundari a gemlike organ found in the chest. Non usble races: Ra'zac - The anthropophagous pupae of a race of dragonlike predators known as the Lethrblaka. The Ra'zac are unable to use magic, cannot swim, have a putrid breath which immobilizes humans, weakens dwarves, but has no effect on elves, and have greater speed and strength than a human. Lethrblaka - The adult Ra'zac. Once a Ra'zac enters adulthood, they shed their beetle-like exterior and grow leathery skin, wings, and a longer beak. Spirits - Strange and mysterious beings without physical bodies, who exist as concentrations of unknown energies. Although fundamentally different from the other races of Alagaesia to the point of being unfathomable to them, most spirits are not dangerous or evil, and none heed the mortal world on their own. Sorcerers strive to control spirits to do their bidding because of the spirits' great potential of raw power and close link to magic; sometimes, they summon too strong a spirit and it overwhelms them. If this spirit has an evil disposition, it will possess the sorcerer and a Shade is created. Spirits in Alagaesia are not in linked to the souls of deceased mortals. Shades - Creatures of twisted magic, who are created when sorcerers summon spirits too powerful for them to control. The sorcerers are then possessed by the spirits, becoming essentially immortal, exceptionally strong in magic, and inherently evil. Shades can only be slain by a thrust through the heart, upon which the Shade disintegrates, freeing the spirits. Grey Folk - Possibly the oldest civilized race in Alagaesia, and the most powerful, the Grey Folk created the Ancient Language and connected it to magic to prevent accidental discharges of magical energy; an effort that supposedly drained the vitality of their race. They then "faded" - most likely died out or intermingled with the other races. Little record of their time survived in Alagaësia. The Riders are like a job, its not a race and the only races that can become a Riders are the Elves and the Humans. Like in the novel the Riders, Elves and Sorcerers of any other races can use magic, but magic can only be used when the Ancient language is spoken. Information on Ancient language below. The Ancient Language is the language of the elves and is used in magic. The name of anything in this language is its true name, which is what makes it the language of magic. If you know something's name in the Ancient Language, you have the ability to control it. This includes people: If you know a person's true name, you can control them. If you know the name of the Ancient Language, you have the ability to control anybody that uses it. Rules: 1. Like in any other RPs there will be no God modes in this RP! 2. No using of true name to control other characters. 3. No Artificial Intelligence is allowed. In other words no Robots, Cyborgs or anything related. 4. No controlling of other poeple's characters unless they agrees to it. 5. Please post more then a one line sentence. 6. Please do PM me if you have to leave the RP. I'll remove your character from the cast list after you did so. 7. 3 character is limited to one person. A Rider and his Dragon is considered as one character. (You will definately get confused if you control too much character.) 8. Strictly no vulgarities allowed. 9. No fighting with other's character unless its a spar. 10. You can only play as the Urgals if you have the intention to help the Riders. 11. Last and most important rule. HAVE FUN!!! ^^ Format for application: Name: eg. RightHere Race: eg. Note: All Riders uses sword made by a blacksmith in Ellesmera (The elf Rhunön) and the colour of their sword is the same colour as their Dragon's scale, and all their sword have a name. Location: Where you lived. All Elves in Du Weldenvarden and Dwarfs in Boer Mountians, Other races are spread throughout Alagaesia except for Ellesmera and Farthen Dur. Rider? (You can post a picture of your Dragon and sword too.) Bio: Tell me about your character. My Character: Name: Laetri Race: Elf Age: 28 Gender: Male Weapon: Brisingr, a sappire blue sword. (Brisingr is the name of Laetri's sword. The elf Rhunön creates with his help in Brisingr. It is made of brightsteel, which is actually "shooting stars that hit the ground.", that Rhunön uses to make other Rider's swords. Brisingr is a Hand-and-a-Half Sword with a sapphire colored blade, the same color as Saphira's scales. The sword's hilt is made of hard black wood. Covering the blade is a beautiful hue of dark blue. The curved crossguard is also made of blued brightsteel. The hand and a half hilt is made of fine black leather. When Laetri speaks the sword's name, the blade burst into flames, because of two reasons: either Brisingr is the sword's true name, or because it was Laetri was involved in the making of the sword, which gives the sword a part of his personality, or even both of those reasons.) {Brisingr means "fire" in the Ancient Language.}  Location: Kirtan Rider? Yes Dragon: Saphira. A young Dragon with sappire blue scale. (Just started breathing fire)  Appearance:  Bio: A young Elf that lived in Kirtan since birth. Is the decendent of Eragon, the first Dragon Rider in Alagaesia. As his ancestor is the first Rider he wants to be a Rider as well and he got his chance when a new batch of dragon eggs was delivered to Ellesmera. He travelled to Ellesmera in order to tryout for the Rider position. He was nervous st first but when it was his turn, a blue egg caught his eye and when he touched it the egg hatched into a baby dragon. The Dragon chose him and now he is a Rider, he swore on the name of his ancestor to keep peace in Alagaesia as long as he lives(Which is quite long since he is an Elf.) Holy DAm, I was just reading this book lol I'm in for sure. Name: Ilumeo Race: Elf Age: 150 Gender: Male Weapon: Kveykva (Lightning)  Location: Osilon Rider: Yes Dragon: Aiedail  Appearance:  Bio: Just like his name says, he seeks out truth where ever he goes. He was best friends with Erisdar, the elf who invented flameless lanterns, before he died. Ilumeo is one of the only Dragon Riders at this point that have forced his dragon to give him her Eldunari in order for him to gain enough energy to continue his search for the truth behind magic. He is extremely cynical of the Council and believes that their beneviolence would soon lead to them being overturned by one of their own. He left the Council and Ellesmera with his dragon for he felt there was nothing left there for them. |

@C.Knight: Sorry but I can't accept your profile. I'd like to ask that if you ever read the first thread? If you didn't, please do so cause I dont remember having skyfalcon in the race section... and your application format is unacceptable too, I don't need height and weight. and I don't have fighting style in the format as well... And as for the special ability, all Riders can communicate with their Dragon through their mind if their Dragon is within the range.(The dragon will never leave the Riders side or travel too far off that they will be out of range for the dragon is like a part of the Rider and the Rider part of the dragon. There is no summoning in my RP except for spirits... and the colour of your sword is different from your Dragon's scale colour, that is unacceptable as well...(In my RP and in the novel, the Dragon's scale colour don't change) Oh... and btw... You can't have you dragon since birth, cause you have to go through some test or something if you wants to become a Rider(If I remember correctly) and a new born baby clearly can't do that... Please change your profile. Thank you!^^ And btw... nice pic of the Dragon...^^ @L: Oh great! Someone who's read the book! Haha... Aiedail... If i remember correctly thats the sun of Alagaesia right? can't believe you actually named you dragon as the sun... Haha! Nice work though.. ^^ |

Name: Graven Race: Dragon Age: 74 Gender: Male Weapon: N/A Location: Mountains near Belatona Scale Color: White Appearance:  Bio: A loner dragon who stuck to the lands of Belatona to protect its people. It is his way of repaying the people of the said town after they nursed him back to health. A few years back, he had a run-in with a horde of Urgals. He was attacked for no apparent reason and was badly injured after. (To tell you the truth, I really have no idea about the novel and I'm relying on wiki...) |

Interesting, I have read eragon and Eldest..^^ uhm... isn't there's only 1 egg left? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Schwarzes Schaz Race: Elve Age: 92 Gender: Male Weapon: Adurna (water)  Location: in the forest of course (near Ellesmera) Rider:yes Dragon:  Dragon Name:Blauen Arget Appearance:  Bio:A normal elve kid, until he chosen by one of the egg. He is one of the best Archer and Swordsman in Alagaesia. He named his Dragon Blauen Arget because the Dragon's color is blue and the dragon make him called Argetlam^^. He likes the forest and he sing his bow himself. just like other Elve, he still looks young, even he's already 92 years old.  |

@Schaz, from the looks of it, Right Here intended this to be a prequel of sorts, when the Dragon Riders first started up. @Right Here, Nice, you really know your stuff ^.^ yep, it's the sun, I figured my character being the friend of Erisdar should have something to do with light as well lol. |

Name: Belldandy Race: Human Age: 26 Gender: Female Weapon: Yamibushi (with the character pic) Location: Uru'baen Rider: Yes Dragon: Zeratul, black dragon Appearance:   Bio: Belldadndy is a diferent dragon ryder, since she didn't have the egg, but find Zeratul when was already grown up. Having a terrible father, she decided to leave her house and go with zeratul, and after fightin a very hard battle years ago, Zeratul decided to acept her as his ryder. What belldandy never knew is that his father was a ryder long time ago, and after losing his dragon, became a drunk bitter old guy. Not knowing this Belldadndy was never able o explain why there were so many magic books in her house, were she learned the language for magic. After the the grat battle she was involved, she went to Alagaesia and now lives in a small house in Uru'baen.   |

i shall join as well going pic hunting :D name: Shino Koma race: Elf age: 16 gender: male weapon: a fire red bow used by elves to slay dragons. Shino Koma was given this bow by his parents before the raid on his village. this bow was the only thing that day that did not burn. (the bow is called "bow dan faw" translates to "bow that burns") pic of self:  pic of weapon:  dragon rider: no but has a pet baby dragon dragon:  *hopes that the pet baby dragon is allowed T_T)* bio: when young about the age of 8, his village was raided and set on fire. when he woke up, he found himself outside his village with a bow and a set of arrows. from there he started to hunt and kill without emotions. on his journy, he found a baby dragon and starts to raise it. they start to fight together.  |

@Red Flare: Your profile is alright... i dont see any problems except the slaying dragon part... cause ever since the Elves formed a pact with the Dragons they stopped all Dragon hunting activity... now the 2 races live in peace... Oh and the picture of your pet... is that really a Dragon? Cause that looks like a dinosaur to me... lol... Just so you know Dragons have wings... ^^ @SRS: I have no problem with most of your profile except for te sword part... there is no such sword in the novel that can creats tsunami... so I'm sorry but you'll have to change it... Edit: @Red Flare: I forgot to mention... You can't have that dragon as pet but you can make him your friend meaning you'll be controlling 2 characters... Unlike Riders since they are one with their Dragons the 2 will be considered as controlling only one... @Flyheight: If I remember correctly you are in my previous RP right? (The Monster RP)? |

its a "dragon slayer bow" but he doesnt slay dragons with it, its used by his parents b4 they died. he uses it to hunt food and other things. also i will make the dragon its friend and controll it :D and its a baby dragon that had its wings cut off by potchers |

@Anybody: Now I've seen the movie Eragon, but is it anything like the book? I know sometimes movie vary greatly from books. And if so, is the book series good? I've been looking for some good reading lately.

@Red Flare: Alright... Now I've got no problem with it. ^^ @C.Knight: The movie is nothing like the book... All I can say of the movie is that its just crap... they missed out so much stuff in the book like Katrina who will turn out to be a rather important character in Eldest... Thats why they can't make the second movie. But I have to say I can't expect them to squeeze the whole book into a 2 hours movies... Haha... Anyway... The Inheritance Cycle is a very good read... You have my words for it... ^^ @DN: I guess we can... I'll Start then... ^^ ~Story~ It was mid-day and somewhere in the forest of Du Weldenvarden, an Elf by the name of Laetri was lying on his belly behind some bushes in order to hide himself from his enemies. He had his eye fixed on his enemy's camp to find the right moment to attack, his Dragon flying right above him hidden by the leaves of the thick forest. He was informed by the elders that a group of urgals had appeared near Lake Isenstar, what are they there for they do not know so Laetri was sent to find out and kill if any of them were to try anything funny. He had been there for quite some time when he suddenly heard a crack of branches coming from behind him, an urgal had spotted him and is ready to strike his axe down on Laetri, without further thought he rolled to his right just when the axe touches the ground, "That was close, I would have been killed if I were any slower." He quickly stand up and pulled his sword out ready to strike the moment that urgal approaches, but that moment didn't come, the both of them stared at each other for a moment when Laetri finally loses his patience and shouts "slytha!(sleep in ancient language)" the urgal drop to the floor knocked out. Laetri walk over to it and stab his sword right into the urgal's chest finishing it's life. ~Off-story~ Alright thats it for this post. Have fun... ^^ |

(OOC: By the mountains of Belatona, a loud roar could be heard before a white figure flies off to survey the surroundings. Graven, the guardian dragon of the region, looked for any sign of danger. He usually does the reconnaisance multiple times a day. Even though trouble is rare in the region, the white dragon feels compelled on patrolling the skies. Once satisfied, he went back to the mountains to rest for his next patrol. It surprised him to see some of the townspeople waiting for him by the entrance of his cave. Graven landed with a soft thud and folded his wings. Graven: Why are you people up here? Civilian 1:(smiles) We came here to bring you some food as thank you for your duty. Graven: Ummm... Thank you. A couple of carts carrying meat and produce entered the cave to drop off the gifts. Graven: You shouldn't have. It should be me repaying you for saving my life. Civilian 2: (laughs) We told you, it's alright. We just couldn't leave such a majestic being to die. Graven: Well, I still want to repay you for what you did so I'l continue on protecting this land. Civilian 3: We will not complain at your suggestion. Just take it easy, alright? Graven: Yes. After the drop off, the civilians said their goodbyes and went back to their town, leaving the dragon to rest. |

Schwarzes now is flying over the woods with Blauen Arget. He really likes to fly and be-one-mind with his dragon (and he don't care the older Rider told him not to do it). They fly over everything get into water and fly as high as they can. Everything just looks very different from The Dragon eyes and Schwarzes really likes it. after several hours... you still wanna play? I'm going home, there's still some house works to do,Schwarzes speak to Blaun Arget through his mind. Come on, just a little longer,Blauen Arget replied, still wants to play,I know you love it True, but we still have to do the house works You do... I can't get inside your tree house... it's just... too small... Hey! I sing it myself! The Dragon laugh and turn back, they fly home. |

-Middle of Kirtan, midday- Falco and Sai'x performs their daily aerial show for the people of Kirtan,their beloved home. Falco turns towards the crowd after landing outside. Falco: That's it for today. See ya all tomorrow. The crowd groans and then fans out. Sai'x: That..was fun. I can't wait for tomorrow.
