Valkyria Chronicles
|
|
So i just watched the first and the second episodes... all i have to say is WOAH! The animation is soo awesome and the choice of colours, nostalgic. The ending theme.. makes me question things but hey that's what the fast forward button is for right? I think i'm going to move everything else to the back burner while i watch this as each ep is released. After watching this, it almost makes me want to run out and buy a PS3 just to play it. So for the other people who have seen the first few episodes, what do you think? |

I already gave my main opinion in the New Anime [Spring 2009] thread, but I'll shorten it a bit for this post. I rather like how well the Anime sticks to the game as well as how faithful they are to the game. Being a big fan of the game personally I believe they did a good job overall in terms of quality. The opening theme is great. The ending theme, well, it's cute but it kind of makes you forget that the little chibi characters you are seeing are fighting in a war where almost half of them are technically child soldiers and there are horrors being committed which are very similar to the ones in WWII. Overall, good series so far and I'm watching each episode as soon as it comes out (even before they get subbed, I rewatch the subs after). The Edelweiss kind of moves too fast for a tank like that, but I can let that slide since it only appears to be moving really fast in a few scenes. @Jahalang- If you like the Anime then you have to play the game, even if you don't get a chance to until years down the road when the current gen of consoles are being sold for cheap. |

@Kira- Yeah, she won a contest of some sort to sing the opening theme song for an upcoming A-1 series, which turned out to be Valkyria Chronicles. The ending is a little bit out of left field. I mean I like it's cute chibi nature and the song is oddly catchy, but it seems to out of place somehow, even though the series is part Anime silliness and part serious. I'm enjoying it so far, reminds me of how awesome the game is. |

Series has been coming along pretty nicely so far. I'm kind of miffed that they skipped over the Battomys fight (the giant tank Maximillian rolls in). I mean that felt like the hardest battle in the game to me, and they just skipped it. Other than that I don't have any big problems, they are showing off most of the most popular non-main character members of Squad 7. They better fight Gregor in his crazy death artillery train though, I hope they don't skip that. |

I do too, although at the moment it seems the English Subs will be on hold. I'm not sure, but I think one of the main people who was subbing it has stopped, so until someone else picks it up I guess I'm watching Raw. Not that I really mind, there's always the DVD release (which I must get when it releases, since I've become a big Valkyria Chronicles nerd ever since the first details on the game showed up). I'm wondering if it will continue on after two Saturday's from now though. As far as I know it's only scheduled for 12 episodes and they are around the half way point of the game. |
