Yuri or Yaoi

Me and my friends where talking about this at lunch one day and I thought why not ask other people so heres the question:

If guys like to look at or watch yuri do girls like to look at or watch yaoi?

You can just leave a answer or leave a answer and maybe your thoughts on the subject or just your thoughts (whatever floats your boat).

In general, that's pretty much how it is, from what I've seen anyways.
I don't specifically watch anime that are "yuri" based anime, sam as yaoi either.
I've seen a few yuri based anime though, and I did see Gravitation years back, which is a pretty good yaoi anime, seriously.

Anytime I see yuri in anime, it's either a sideline thing or just something that's not really relevant to the main anime itself.
To answer your question, yeah, that's pretty much how it is in general,
although I do know girls that are more into yuri than yaoi, and I think that's terrific. :P

Like DA said, that's basically how it works. Although personally I've heard more girls saying that they preferred Yuri (not always using that word of course, 'girl on girl' or whatever you kids today like to call it) over Yaoi. Not basing my opinion off of that of course, but the general idea behind the choices as far as I've heard is that guys don't really have such nice bodies to be going at each other, as opposed to the feminine form.

I kind of agree with this point of view, I mean it makes sense. I don't know what kinds of Yoai are out there but I doubt many of them depict muscular or manly men, most of them probably feature slender guys who reside in that oh so Japanese group of androgynous characters. You know, those characters who you look at and wonder if those feelings you're getting in your pants is being caused by a chick or a dude, until their clothes come off and you either breathe a sigh of relief or sit there as your brain implodes trying to make sense of what just happened. Purely my theory of course, no idea if most girls actually prefer to see guys get freaky together over girls.

Man, I sure had to sidestep a lot of dirty words when writing that. Tough one.

For me, well, many friends of mine who like yaoi or shonen-ai are all girls. And I know many boy who watch yuri or shojo-ai animes, Only one friend I know that watch yuri even she's a girl. Also, mostly of my friends who are boys like to watch H anime more.

Maybe it's just their personally, thought. Mostly friends of mine who watch yaoi looks really cool than a boy would be (Yes, it's she not he.) Somehow, I don't find any boy who watch yuri acting sweet.. how strange :3

However, for me, as a girl, I can watch shonen-ai/ light yaoi and light shojo-ai. I'm not prefer yuri and hardcore yaoi. That's all my answer.

actually, most of the girls that I knew prefer yuri over yaoi XD So that's no way to generalize things. it all comes down to personal taste.. heck, I Know some dudes who went Crazy over Yaoi XDD

For me? I prefer Yuri of course ♥ Cause I Dunno.. I Blame my excessive Yuri doujin collection.. Well, of course the Rating ranges from SFW to NSFW.. but let's not go that way.

well all i know is some girls like yaoi...and then some like yuri...and vice-verca.

me? i'm not into any...but i did watch a yaoi anime before...i actually like it. lol...and heck, i'm a dude XD

Man..What can I say. According to DA, girls that are more into yuri than yaoi is terrific. Don't think so, in fact, I don't like Yaoi, at all, I do prefer Yuri. And WTF, I'm a girl.

It sounds a lot better in Japanese- and for anime/manga it's just well normal is pushing it, but just you get over it/accept it- i mean being called g** here is a high insult- one that will result in a punch, not to mention instant denial lol.

My preference would be yuri but I'm a guy and straight so thats pretty tipical but I have seen yaoi before and I don't know....it was kind of weird and uncomfortable to watch and then I saw some yuri and i found it a lot more sweeter and more nature to watch.

yuri man its weird for me to watch yaoi but if i get an girlfriend thats an otaku like me and wants to watch a yaoi..fine i will sit through it but the yuri is coming on next(DAMN IT FEELS GOOD TO COME BACK TO GENDOU)

Im a girl and I like both yaoi and yuri. it might be one of my past boyfriends was into yuri and I would look up pictures for him, but I like yaoi more and longer.
