Has anyone been on a sitelike quizilla.com that has tags for lyrics and such? Well I was just thinking that maybe Gendou should have them too for the english lyrics of songs? What do you gus think? Do you think that would make finding good music on here better or do you like it the way it is? Post what you think. I'd love to hear your opinions on it.

I have decided that it is best that I be in lone control over search results. I could allow moderators to edit song tags, but have not done this yet. If users were to tag songs with genre such as "rock" then it would become more difficult to find songs such as "Angel Rock and Roll". Also, allowing user-added tags means I would have to allocate administrative hours to policing and keeping them accurate. |

I have never found user created tags to be effective mainly because there are far too many people who either think they know what tag is best or put in inaccurate tags. It's quicker to find songs with keywords than it is to find them when Gary Sue decides to use a Heavy Metal tag for 'Tank!'. |

when i say adding tags to songs, I mean by the administrators, not the users themselves. That would just make it harder to find songs. Thats where quizilla failed. I lnow thats LOTS of songs, but to start out, the admins could justdo the first couple of pages of the most popular songs and such....I don't know. It was just a question. Thing is, with me, I don't know most of these anime, but I have come toenjoy finding random songs that I adore here on Gendou. It has definatly broadened my music preferences. Anyone else have any ideas that would make browsing for songs easier for the people like me who just like anime music in general?

I do in fact put search hints (functional equivalent of "tags") on songs. For example, try searching for "crack cocaine" in the music database. lol I have had people ask for genre information before, and my response to you is the same: Feel free to go through every one of the 4,800+ songs and generate the tags. Give them to me in a comma delineated file and I will apply them to the database. |

If you are asking for me to elaborate on my previous post, I would ask that you read it again carefully. If you still have specific questions or opinions, I am happy to hear them. |
