As you all know the Super Mario Bros. games has been dethroned meaning its no longer the best selling game. and Wii Sports has been crowned for the best selling game of 2008.

Eventually Mario will die out, but it's still the #1 gaming franchise all-time.
About Wii Sports, it's incredibly fun, addicting, and I can understand why it won.

I played it for the first time over Christmas break and I just didn't want to stop playing it. It's awesome. :D

Well the fact that it comes bundled with the system May have had something to do with it. There's not really a way to not get Wii Sports other than buying pre-owned. I don't understand why they qualified it is sold, since it's really just given away with the system.

I played it for a while and it can be addicting, but the novelty has long worn off for me. There's only so many times I can get strikes in bowling.

Bundles don't, and never will, count.

If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

i agree w/ jon on that, it's because of the Wii system that it's the number one seller now since it comes w/ the system, there's no other way to buy it seperately unless you find it on the internet or Gamestop for used

I agree with what Haoie said, bundles will never count as part of the overall sales. You can't say it's a sale when the game includes something people will want or have to get. Just as I said in the other thread, Wii Sports Resort will probably be number one on the sales charts, but only because it comes bundled with Wii Motion Plus which people want in order to make their Wii function like it's supposed to. So there's no way to judge how well the game is actually selling.

I'm selling games to people a lot where I work, and the only reason I have ever seen anyone buy Wii Play is because they are looking for an extra Wii-mote and figure for 5 bucks more they might as well get a few mini-games while they're at it for the kids.

My friend only got SOCOM for the PS3 because it came with the Bluetooth Headset, not because he had any general interest in SOCOM and he would have never bought it if it didn't come with the PS Official headset. I don't really call that a sale of a game. I've seen people buy the XBox 360 with Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones the games included as in the bundle, and then I see them trading in the games next door at EBGames the same day.

I have never understood how people can enjoy wii sports. It is nothing like real sports, and in my opinion, its like getting gypped out of a real video game. It requires minimal brain power, has no story or really anything that all video games before it DID have.

Honestly, it amazes me that people are in awe at the fact that you can move your arm and the tennis raquet on the screen moves. This is really just an excuse to make parents feel their kids are getting exercise while playing video games, despite the fact that you would get more exercise fapping to pr0n on your computer.

As an added bonus, the Wii system is about the same price as a tennis raquet, baseball bat + baseball, boxing gloves + boxing lessons, 2 rounds of golf, and 5 rounds of bowling all combined (and then some).

In my books, the Wii is just way too fail.
