Well... let's say this first: i thought of this thread thinking of FSN, but it has no connection to it. Moreover, state your choice basing on the original stories, not some spinoff. Well, as obvious - name your favorite mythical heroes and the reasons why you like them. As for me: Hercules(Greece) - I think he's the only pure hero. Other heroes of Greece usually followed some of their own goals, while this guy was mostly just walking around doing heroic deeds :) Jeanne D'arc(France) - Well... guess i kinda admire her, a simple peasant saving France and it annoys me as they "thanked" her. Sun Wukong(China) - Well... the original story was weird. A laughed like crazy on how stupid it was. And well, gotta give the guy a credit for babysitting those three idiots :D Merlin(Great Britan) - Well... in my mind - this guy is a walking trigger of miracles :) Well... i could also name Athena, as she's a hero-god, but that's just simply because i'm quite fond of amazons and Valkyries. Although there are also Prometeus and King Arthur i don't really like or hate them. |

Hmm, can Beowulf count? He was all-around of a hero, with godly strength. I read the original book in english class and it was pretty interesting.

Louis the XIV (France) - ever seen the Man in the Iron Mask? Well after seeing that i did some research on him. Dubbed the "One of the Greatest Kings to ever lived". He brought prosperity to his land & reiged for over 72 years. Joan of Arc (France) - a simple peasant girl who rises to help France against the British. A national hero in France. @ Mog-san Actually Jeanne D'arc is a real person, that name is the french name for her. Although the PSP game kinda adds mythical attributes to the original story. Also it wasn't the French who 'thanked' her it was the British who tried her for treason (technically France was under British rule) & other stupid things like witchery...it was not until many years later that her story was tried again by court & she was declated innocent. Hector & Achillies (Greek & Trojan) - Everyone has heard the stories of these two & if you've seen the movie Troy or read the Illiad than you will know that these guys are legendary. Personally i prefer Hector cause he is a normal warrior who fought a semi-god & fought well. |

It's not like she had to be a fictional one to be a hero :) |
