English Project - Anime Controversy
Link | by Dragon Negro on 2008-08-28 19:32:17 (edited 2008-08-29 15:22:38)
Hello everybody!!

I'm currently in my final level of my english course and I have t do an essay. The topic the teacher gave me was anime. History, background and controversy about anime. I'm suposed to use 3 diferent articles (or sources for my project).

If someone can give good pages qhere I can find info about anime history, or articles about some controversy around anime that would be great. ^^

Wiki could be one, if you're allowed to use it anyways.
I had one from a while back, that explained a lot about how anime characters have exotic hair colors, huge eyes (influenced by Classic Mickey Mouse), etc.

But wow, that's sure as hell a comfortable topic to write about, isn't it?
You can also talk about seiyus, anime studios, fan bases (*cough*Haruhiism*cough*), etc., too.

Yeah, I'll try to help you out whenever I can.
Sometimes you can find sources from blogs (that lead to real sources), so just search around.

Also, when is the paper due? Any nearing deadline?

he said to me. "Ok, you talk about anime" and I was like. "ok" XD

Now I'll turn him into a Haruhiist =P

I'll be more comfortable writing about world peace..>_<

Cheat code: If you aren't the only one writing the essay (XD), try finding out what your fellow classmates are writing about! Teachers don't like to read the same thing all the time.. ;)

I think once for English, I had to write a persuasive essay relating to anime. I think I did fairly well.

In this situation I would give most of my time writing and explaining:

- The history and origin of Japanimation
- The unique and distinctive art style
- Types of Japanimation
- Terminologies
- The cultural reactions towards Japanimation in different countries
- What "Otaku" really means
- Why fans normally reject "Anime" being referred to as a "Cartoon"

I would add some more.... but if I do...

I might end up making enough to release a book...

Is good to write a lot but if you do that, make sure you have enough supporting evidence, that it is fun to read (=/= not boring/longwinded) and that you don't go out of point.

You can even get some of us here to review it for ya~ whahaha!!!

Then when i have it ready I'll post it in here =P

Something similar to Lu Bu's last point, or relating anyways.
It was to get readers to understand anime more rather than rejecting it at first glance.

Not sure why people hate it though, cause anime is seriously the best.
If I had to write an essay on the top most popular things in the world, damn well anime is gonna be on that list. XD

uL it as a .pdf file or something, depending on long your essay will be anyways.

Hahah~ I doubt anyone "hate" anime... but I'm know some people dislike it cause they find it childish / they got better things to do~

I'll be looking fwd to see that essay DN~
