Macross Music Fans!

Anyone have a LOVE for songs from the 20+ years of Macross? :) I personally loved music from Macross, Macross 7, and Macross Frontier. I bought a copy of Nyan Furo and am thoroughly enjoying it on home speakers. <3 My favorite song is probably "What 'bout my star." It's an amazing song with a great beat. The drums really come out in this CD, and the bass sounds great (like in "Iteza Gogo Kuji Don't be late." I apologize if a thread like this has already been made. :( |

I don't know that much about other Macrosses but I loved Macross 7 and its songs Totsugeki Love Heart is arguably one of the best anisons ever made

One of my personal favorites is Ai Oboeteimasuka. :X I felt like that song really suited the drama in the original Macross. Totsugeki Love Heart was great for Macross 7 as one of the first songs you hear, but also ended up being a awesome theme for the rest of the show. Hey, all the songs were great, especially with a drummer like Veffidas. I'm excited to see if they can update any of the songs from older Macross series even more than they already have in the current Frontier. [Edit] I really want to hear Sheryl do a re-mix of an older song, rather than just hear Ranka's versions. :( |

Yeah, one of my favorites as well is Ai Oboete Imasu ka? by Iijima Mari. Nothing I just remember my childhood days... XD  |

What 'bout my Star @ Formo was done by Megumi Nakajima and May'n not Megumi Nakajima only hehe just noting (as I downloaded the song here, Megumi Nakajima is the only artist i saw ahehe)... XD although we mostly hear Megumi Nakajima hehe XD very great songs in the Nyan Furo album ^^ macross frontier for the very great win in terms of anime and music!!! (specially if you have watched ep 22 already) XD |

Macross Frontier my personal fav ones are 1. Diamond Crevasse 2. What 'bout my star?@Formo 3. Seikan HikŠ4. Aimo O.C. 5. Northern Cross 6. Lion 7. Shinkū no Diamond Crevasse 8. Ao no Ether 9. Anata no Oto 10. Ai Oboete Imasu ka ~ bless the little queen 11. Triangler LOL I love all of them !! "Nyan Nyan Service Medley" is amazing this is the one that connect all the songs together. |

I grew up with this series & the music from all the series based on the Macross universe i consider timeless. Every anime fan should know all about the songs sung by Lynn Minnmay (Mari Ijima-san) even if you aren't a fan of the series. Her most famous is probably the love ballad 'Ai, oboete imasuka' & it will go down as one of the most influential songs in anime history. Mari Ijima's other songs for the series include the famous My boyfriends a pilot, Little White Dragon, OG Love, Sunset Beach & many others. Every one of them classics! Music from Macross 2 although not as popular in the macross universe are in fact pretty good, even though the series was not. The opening theme The Hush of 200 Million Years is not a bad song. The end themes sung by Ishtar is also quite good. Moving on to Macross 7. If you like rock & roll you'll love the music of this fun & over the top series. Nekki Basara (Yoshiki Fukuyama!!!) songs are upbeat, powerful, beautiful & overall great songs to listen too. The songs from Mylene although not as powerful as Basara hold their own. Songs like Planet Dance, Try Again, Remember 16, Totsugeki Love Heart to name a few are awesome rock songs. Then you have the soulful My Soul for You, the acoustic version is an emotional piece of music. One of my faves is the ballad Angel Voice which has some beautiful words & music. Which is given since Yoko Kanno was apart of it. Speaking of which...Macross Plus.Yoko Kanno adds her unique music perspective to the Macross world with argubably the best of the series. Her music is a mixture of almost everything & it gives life to Sharon Apple. A great series with some great music. Pick up the ost if you haven't done so already. Macross Zero's music is mostly instrumental with very few vocals which are in turn mostly chanting. Surreal to say the least whcih fits the setting & atmosphere of the series. Finally Macross Frontier. Personally next to the original this is my fave music of the series. Again Yoko Kanno brings her talents to the series & she definitely doesn't disappoint. I like the way some of the songs harken back to the older series with the return of Ai Oboete Imasuka. Both Megumi & May'N do fabulous jobs on all the vocals, which are some of the best yet. Macross music will forever be apart of anime history cause of the memorable music that has been written for the series. No anime fan should be without the ost & music from macross!!!  |

I love Macross Frontier songs ^^ i love Seikan Hikou the most atm maybe i'll download the older macross music too XD  |
