Hey! I'm new to this forum, so I wasn't sure if this is supposed to go in the "other" or anime section, but I guess I'll give it a try. I just started watching the short series Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora. I don't know how to speak Japanese let alone read lips of people who are saying something in Japanese , so If someone could tell me what is being said by the main character - Yuiichi - near the end of episode one, I would greatly appreciate it! I would guess he's saying something like "I love you.", or "I like you." but making sure would definitely make it more meaningful. ~Thanks~ |

I didn't really think you could real lips in anime, it doesn't seem like they match up in most anime~  |

Lip reading in any animation is practically impossible. When animators animate characters talking all they do is lip flap, an open mouth a closed mouth. This makes every thing they say look the same. An anology of this is like reading what Pac-man is trying to say. Anime speaking is like that. Sometimes the characters facial expressions will give you an idea of what they are feeling which than will give you an idea of what they may be saying. I assume you are seeing the anime in RAW form cause if you are watching it subbed than there is no need to ask. You could wait until a subbed version is releasd to find your answer. Unless there are the odd times when the sound cuts away when someone is speaking to really mess with your mind.  |

It is , in fact , a subbed version. I don't know though , they zoom in on his mouth, and it looks like he could be saying something , but there is no note in the subs or any subtitles for that part, i'll see if I can find just a clip of it. Most lip movements only match up roughly. Is it one of those things where the character says something but there is no sound?  |

Well this seems to be an anime with a romance type plot, so you can come to the conclusion that he confessed his feelings or something like that, but to actually know what he said would be impossible. |

Wow, that's impossible to decipher. Hmmm, but judging by how the clip went out, I'm guessing he said... her name maybe? Maybe if you continue to watch the anime, this scene would be a flashback later on perhaps? This reminds me of the scene in episode one of Myself; Yourself. I know Izumo knows, if anyone else does, where Shuu runs past the train Sana's on when he's moving, and he says something but we don't know until like the last episode or so in the anime. You never know. I'd keep watching the anime though, lol.

i think most anime are very well done and you can see some resemblence in what they say and how the lips move but try doing it in yugioh=)) see ya 仙水 |

I remember this scene now in the anime. What i think he may have said is yes either her name or maybe something like 'being with you'. The whole episode was Yuichi wanting a reason to spend time with Rika when she asks why he's doing what he's doing (agreeing with her wishes). So when he was starting to say "I like..." i believe he either said her name (Rika Akiba) or 'being with you' although that may be a stretch since it looked like he said 2 word. |
