VLC Player
|
I need help with my VLC Player... I try running videos but it doesn't show the video track. It only plays the audio. When I try using other video players, like winamp, the videos play perfectly fine. So far, it can only play videos with a subtitle track selected. Help me solve the problem, please. Thanks. |

Check if you're VLC Player if it's updated with a latest media codec or what media it can read. Some VLC Player often read audio and video formats like MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, DivX, MP3, and OGG. The problem of your VLC Player is it support only the audio format, not the video or media format. Try to convert also your video files to the compatible format of your VLC Player. Try also to check if your VLC player can play some of it's compatible videos to check if the player works fine or not. |

umm if it doesnt wanna work just try a different player and use a more common one you will tend to have less problems with basic ones like WMP (windows media player) |

Cloud, VLC is a highly reputable media player, not to mention one of the most commonly used by both businesses for network video feed meetings and a VERY large part of the online community. I know this sounds kind of dumb but did you double check the "video" menu tab and make sure there was a stream selected? Also, what kind of video file is it? Certain ones tend to have different kinds of problems that can arise in various players. Example: VLC has trouble playing certain versions of realmedia videos.

you may want to try something called the K-lite codec pack , which installs several codecs on your computer you wont even need the VLC player anymore if you dont want it, and you can use your wmp to play pretty much anything |

If you're watching anime, then I would recommend the CCCP. I've used this for everything from regular movies to just home videos and it has always worked perfectly, even if this thing was made for fansubs. |

08/28/08... Threadromancy anyone? @h4x0r : VLC=JesusMediaPlayerWow. Internet... K-lite codec pack is the most bloated way to play video, period. Whatever, just get something that has proper subtitle rendering and CUDA or VDPAU support, that's all. |

I've recently started using SMPlayer. it's free, open source like vlc. Differences though are that it will use windows codecs if it doesn't have a codec built in, also it seems to play a lot better, with higher quality and less problems. I had a few problems playing some 720p mkv files (my pc's a bit old) using vlc, was getting artifacts and bad refreshing. Switched to smplayer, it manages them perfectly. Also got the CCCP installed, just in case I hit anything smplayer doesn't support as standard. |
