Anyone here have FES yet?

I'm between wanting and not wanting to buy because I didn't like P3 in general. Anything changed? Or is it the same with the addition of the Penis Chariot...

ummm thats a very bad word can you change it to something less disturbing like carrot?
and i bought it. Its a redone version of the original persona 3 the questions have changed, added 3 more social links i think, a few more personas that you can make, and some side requests have been added. also theres hard mode.

and also there is episode 2! aigis is the main character in that one cause the episode one character.. starting to cry now.. well you get the picture, kinda like tidus in FFX and you find him in X-2 type of thing. theres no school life its just dungeon battles..

I recommend this version cause its been in the top in japan for the last 8 months i think.

Meh, I guess I might just wait for P4 to come out.

And the word is a name from the game. I'm not saying it for any other reason.

I picked it up yesterday. I didn't really take too well to the game at first and had only rented it to give it a shot, but I decided that when the FES version came out, having all that extra stuff for cheap, that I would buy it and try again.

I don't find it to be a bad game, I'm really just not a fan of games where your day is split into different segments, takes away from exploring ability I find. I also don't like the fact that you don't give commands to your allies, they act on their own, never been a fan of that since the allies usually screw up a lot (Like Junpei putting himself to 4 HP through constant Persona use), it isn't as refined as say Tales of Symphonia. I love the anime cutscenes, they are very well done and there's not just a couple tossed in (Something other games do a lot. Like a short cutscene halfway through the game, that really annoys me.). The dating sim elements are fine to me, I always like dating/romantic interest links in RPG's, it adds a bit of romance to the blood bath. Music is great, especially the opening theme, I'm still a fan of Burn My Dread, but the FES mix is just a bit better to me. The extra content is plentiful for an add on version, like about 20 extra persona's to get, different events and stuff along those lines to keep it going for a long time, which I enjoy, a lengthy RPG is a good RPG if it's an enjoyable experience. Graphics aren't bad, a little bit more cartoon like than recent SMT games I've played, but still fine, it's still dark and deep with hints of emo, traits of SMT games I really enjoy.

Overall I can see why people love it so much. Personally I'd rather stick to the slightly darker and (story/dialogue wise) deeper RPG's that Atlus puts out, such as Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne, but it still has all of the charm that I love about Atlus games. I probably won't be playing it much though, for the sole reason that it was released just a few days before GTAIV which will consume my free hours for weeks to come before switching to MGS4. Still, I can see that I Will eventually pick it up and play it again because I do enjoy it, despite the personal quips I have with it.

@Rob- So really, if you didn't like P3 in general there isn't a big reason to get this. I was the same as you when I played the regular edition and didn't bother to re-rent it to get further into the game, but with FES I find that they've added in enough extra things and changed enough to warrant a second try at it. If you beat Persona 3 and didn't like it then the added story "The Awakening" is probably all that you'll play through, if only so you can see the true ending to Persona 3. It is like 30 bucks, so it isn't a huge gamble compared to current gen games. Plus, if your like me, your itching for a good RPG to play, seeing as how there hasn't been a good once since the first edition of Persona 3.

Details are kinda fuzzy on Persona 4 as well, god only knows when it will release. From what I've seen I wouldn't be interested, but I guess more info has to come out on it first before I can make that judgment.

Well, that's my 50 cents on this.

maybe ur not into this type of rpg genre. some ppl like the whole dating sim/ school sim/ and long dialogue stuff. im more into the final fantasy rpg genre so im still waiting for 13, but games like these help pass the time even tho i dont get to finish. And persona 4 might be the same as persona 3 if they like school that is. you should try shin megami tensei digital devil saga, its the same style but you become a monster and eat all the other monsters. the music is great too.

I saw a trailer for P4..

I think I like P3 more. The main character has his own voice there by the way..But uh..It says here "Rather than the city locales of previous games in the series, Persona 4 will take place in a fictional Japanese countryside. It has been said to feature a weather forecast system with events happening on misty days to replace the moon phase system (with events happening on full moons in Persona 3) implemented in the previous games. Its theme is a suspenseful countryside murder mystery with multiple twists and turns in the plot."

So yeah..Im think Im gonna like P3 better..But Sadly FES hasnt reached out country yet. T___T

Being a Persona fan, I'll buy FES to try it out. Overall, it does look better. And it's pretty cool to see Aigis have her own storyline. I'll eventually get FES, but it won't come out in England/Europe until around Christmas I'm guessing :P.

I don't like the idea of weather forecast systems for when shadows appear, and a Japanese countryside sounds as if you will have barely nothing do with social life -I expect you will have a lot, but I personally think they'll all be pretty simliar.
The opening for P3 is a lot better than P4 too xD.

i saw a persona 4 trailer and the only thing that interested me was they added BOOBS!! the girls looks semi hotter like bigger breasts than mitsuru! im sure thats not the point of the game. If they made the anime persona trinity soul into a game i know id buy it.

i bought gta4 and the story mode is pretty fun. theres co op mode too where u and ur friends play in a city at the same time.
