The most challenging song you have ever played?
Link | by RayStormX on 2008-02-25 23:40:34
again, not quite sure where to put this, so other is a safe bet i guess.
I am currently learning a song called Oasis by kotaro oshio, and it is the most challenging song I have ever learned on guitar. I still have the blister on my middle finger to prove it. It's been about 2 days since I started learning it, and I just have to clean up some parts, then I'm ready to play in public.

and then in flute, I'm playing this song called Gigi and it's pure evil. 16th notes and runs everywhere....*shudder*...it's a nightmare to play for symphonic orchestra.

what about you guys? what is/are the most challenging songs you are/have learned and on what instrument?

In the guitar All of the Asaki Songs.Didnt try the Hirofumi ones...Too hard for a beginner like me.

EDIT:

-Sairin:Kata Tsubasa no Tenshi by Uematsu Nobuo from Final Fantasy:Advent Children

Extremely hard to do on the guitar and the drums.Especially on the solo parts.Double Peds!! ARGH!! >__<

I've been hung up on The Black Mages Dancing Mad for a while. I have learned the last part of it, but its still kinda messy. I also find The Revenant Choir by Versailles very challenging. I found Zetsubou Billy kinda hard, till I realized that half the song is power chords, lol.

The most challenging song I've ever played--- Soramimi Cake (from Azumanga Daioh). I am still practising play this song on piano and goddammit! It's freaking difficult!!! XDDDD Boo~ key change DX Worst, I don't have the music sheet for this song, hence I have to listen >_<

Another one is Aluminia (Death Note). Gawsh, it really took nearly a month to play this song properly >_< I learn this on my own, no sheets, but it definitely prove challenging to play.

I wish I can play Aeris' Theme on piano! DDDDDX

It was for my school's jazz band, but yeah!
Twas difficult, but totally worth it. X3

yeahhh wasnt sure where to put this, because there's a music section but it says "talk about your anime music" sooo I wasn't quite sure...plus, the songs I play aren't quite from anime. well regardless, I just finished that song I mentioned earlier, but now I can't play because of this dang blister T^T.

now I want to work on Kotaro Oshio's "Blue Sky". oh my god, the harmonics at the beginning are amazing but they sound incredibly difficult. never knew you could make those sounds with an acoustic.

The hardest one for me so far is (yes I am currently playing it with the drum & bugle corps that I march with) NIght Streets, by Chick Korea. The tuba part is pretty relentless, because we normally dont have eighth note triplets. Not only that, but its also a pretty fast song. I march with Minnesota Brass, if anyone has heard of them. You should check us out, and watch us perform sometime, if you are in the Minnesota Wisconsin area this summer.

I found a decent link @ youtube of the part I am playing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP6NpaVnq9U

so you can get an idea if you don't know the song.

Working on "wind song" by kotaro oshio now. idk why but this song kinda reminds me of the anime Naruto for some reason. leaf village and all that.

this song is just about as easy as Kotaro's songs will ever get (and they're not easy, believe me). i'm still in the learning process, and only have the first 30 seconds down.
