Which anime's artwork is great? Which is lacking? I give Mushishi my BEST artwork award. Beautiful and serene. I give Bleach during the later arcs my worst award (oxymoron? -_-)! The characters and scenery lately look cartoonish and I cant take any of them seriously. What do you think?  |

whoa an award??!! okay for me, i will add: best:Clannad, kanon remake, shakugan no shana1&2 sorry i can't decide The Best from them because the three of them have a very good artwork... especially clannad & kanon. for the worst i can't decide either, but i agree with sensei that bleach became dull in artwork lately..  visit aolas.soup.io for your usual dose of seiyuu pics |

i have agree with you aolas-san. Best artwork goes to clannad and other animes handled by Kyoani really do have great artworks as well such as haruhi suzumiya, air and kanon. for the worst i would say bokura ga ita

For the best, I dunno. There's so many good series with great art out there... but for now, I give it to Takeshi Obata, artist of Hikaru no Go and Death Note. The worst has got to go to Tsubasa Fukuchi of the Law of Ueki manga. My eyes bleed when I see the terribleness of that artwork, and terribleness isn't even a word. I don't mind Bleach's style :/ I rather like it. |

I can't really decide the best category here... Many animes with sweet artwork are floating around lately... If i really have to narrow it down then... Byousoku 5 centimeter (damn good), Deathnote, NHK ni Youkoso, Claymore, D-gray man, Devil May Cry, Shigofumi, and AIR (the sky is so goddamn gorgeous here O.o) yeah, i narrowed it down and we still got 8 XD For worst, many old animes and kid's stuffs would deserve this award. Stuffs like chibi maruko-chan, kobo-chan, Yu gi oh, and medabot -_- |

@aolas & raizoken: Can't agree more ^_^(Haruhi, Clannad... KyoAni FTW). Well, maybe not as impressive as those expensive CGs, movies and all, but that's what anime's supposed to be like: pleasantly attractive in an anime way, not Western-influenced or overwhelmingly realistic. I still praise Ghost in the Shell, Death Note... for the very detailed and polished artwork, but no matter how good it is, they just don't give me as much pleasure as Haruhi or Clannad does. Maybe the answer lies in the characters' deformation, or maybe it's even more than that. You need to feel the SOUL behind the artwork, the thing that makes anime absolutely UNIQUE. Worst ones? What's the point of that? Anime just gets better and better, it wouldn't be fair for the (much) older series, and some would be primitive by today's standards already. Or do u mean the ones that are still airing? I don't know, I don't usually watch anime with poor quality. |

I can instantly think of Kyoto Animation's artwork. People from Key/Visual Arts are sugoi~talented! Not sure what the worst of the worst is, but One Piece has to be one of the most poorly drawn anime I've ever seen...

I second what DA said...KyoAni for best artwork hands down...but I can't decide for the worst artwork because there are actually quite a lot with bad graphics out there. XP |
