Here's some question about laptop thing. curious how can i diffenciate between the dedicated memory of the graphic card and the shared one. if it say shared 763mb memory, for example only then, 128 mb dedicated memory wat excatly the ram of the graphic card is and how can it run the game welL? i mean if it run a game then what is the max ram can be used.
and one more thing what is meaning by DVD-RAM? same wit DVD burner?

based on your description, it has 128mb of memory on the card, and is capable of using 763mb of mem from your ram. nowdays, 128mb graphics cards suck for games.
dedicated is on chip and shared is off. when ever something is too big for the dedicated mem to store, it gets allocated to shared memory. this creates increased latency and less speed (since memory is way way slower than the CPU/GPU, so most of the time the GPU is sitting idle and waiting for data to get back. This is exacerbated if the memory is offchip, which makes the latency even greater) so in conclusion dedicated is better than shared and 128mb sucks for games unless you only play starcraft.

Terminology:
Shared Memory: The memory the system will use for graphics, basically it'll take your RAM. Integrated GFX Chips normally do this plus a few cards. It is also generally SLOWER than the ones loaded on the Card (Dedicated Memory)
Dedicated Memory:
Faster and is onboard the card itself. Normally you'll find GDDR3 memory which is much much faster than the system memory in Shared Mode.
RAM:
Random Access Memory, in other words, it's like your computer RAM. DVD-RAMs is basically the same thing but in disc form and much slower.

Dedicated memory is needed for the performance since a slower memory means slower storage for compiling computing information for the GPU (GFX Processor).
Shared memory is useful for those games that require more memory to store textures and junk. However, in doing so will slow down the game.

In other words, shared memory is there to allow alternate storage means whenever the dedicated memory is full (Integrated Chips use Shared Mem right off the bat, actually it hogs the space unless you change it yourself in the BIOS).

Games also take variable memory space depending on your settings. Mainly texture quality. If you plan to play recent games, opt for a high memory capacity to be able to play games with high quality textures. 512MB at least.

DVD RAM is just another format of rewritable media like dvd-rw and dvd+rw (but more reliable and yet not all drives supports it).

Well if you really need a laptop, I have just recently bought a Dell Vostro. Usually, I am against Dell due to their build quality. However, this time they have hired ASUS to make the laptop completely. It by itself is very good and gets the job done i bought it for work not for games. But it turns out it can game fairly decent.

Specs:
Dell Vostro 1400
14" Widescreen LCD @ 1280 x 800 Reso w brite-veiw
Core 2 Duo T5270 (not 100% sure on that) 1.4 GHz
5X DVD Burner
2GB of RAM
Windows XP
5 Hrs 20 Min Battery Life
around 5.2 lbs
Nvidia 8400 GS 128 MB dedicated and up to 768 MB shared if Vista and 256 MB shared for XP

Price: $578 (After coupon and student discount)Around $900 regularly

It handles Crysis on low-medium settings and gets 20-30 fps, Counter-Strike Source runs 50-60 FPS on medium-high settings and native resolution and Gears of War runs medium-medium settings and gets stable fps like 25-45 fps depends.

Idle runs around 25-34 C and load is 40-55 C. I installed some fan control program made for Dell to make the fan quiet and it runs around 55C load and doesn't get any higher. If i didn't install it, it would run very loud but will stay very very cold like low 40's C.

dedicating memory is mainly if you know what your doing. although basicly if you dedicate the memery you may be taking it away from some where else and so it would make that one aspect you choose better but at the same time decreaseing the response time some thing else like windows load time even longer becasue it lacks the sources it once had.
