I have the RAW downloaded but have yet to see it yet...i will do so later tonight. It was Mr.Kawamori's idea for the 25th anniversary release of the original Macross. The actual series won't start until the new year.....episode 1 was packaged with the anniversary release of the Macross movie....'Do you remember love'. As for it being a sequel for Macross 7....it's will be kinda weird cause i doubt this will have the main character singing at badguys. I wonder how the music will be like cause i've always loved the music of the series. Another thing i'm looking forward to seeing is the new Valkyries...i think this one is the VF-25. Valkyries will always be my fave mech designs. Another series that i wll be following in the new year.....  |

| Planning to watch it. I have Shinsen's sub, but I haven't had time to watch it yet. I'm considering getting IZ's sub actually, now that it's out. |

Finally was able to see it....i must say i was pretty impressed. It sort of harkens back to the original. Meaning a young wanna-be pilot who becomes thrown into a war. I can see sort of a resemblance in character between Hikaru & Saotome. Also Mikhail Brown's character is like Roy....the hotshot veteran pilot. While Sheryl is the Minnmay of this generation...hopefully she'll won't be too much like Minnmay if you know what i mean ^___^'. As for the new Valkyrie.....other than the Super enhanced space add-on it looks more like the ones from Macross Plus in design. The transformation is different but cool nonetheless. The music is very good (already has requests in by users)....the songs sung by Sheryl are pretty catchy. The first time it plays was cool when the Frontier Fleet was preparing for the incoming attack by....whatever they are. They don't look like Zentradi....anyways that was an awesome scene when the Valkyries take off. I've said it once & i'll say it again....Valkyries are the BEST MECHS EVER!!!!! However i really enjoyed (albiet short) version of the new "Ai, Oboete Imasuka". Very different from the original but it still has its charm. I have always loved this song ever since i first heard it when i was younger....after all these years it still stands out! I enjoyed the 1st episode.....looking forward to watching the series in the new year....once again Mr.Shoji Kawamori has outdone himself again!!!!!! |

i have watched the 1st ep its cool better than the once i watch in 1983 =) the transformation was nice isnt all the zentradi change to human forms????? CURIOUS! |

omg. I got chills watching this. Yes, there were tons of stuff that went back to the original.... the concert during the dog fight, the girl (also works in a Chinese restaurant - but she's not nearly as annoying as Minmay) being threatened by the invader, the young pilot who wants more out of life... I loved that the school looked like the SDF-1! It was gorgeous. It was fantastic. Dammit I don't wanna wait until April for more eps!!!!!!!! |

sorry for not replying all of you above post (consider I the one who asking), little busy lately. Macross Frontier ep 1 has been out, I believe there is 3 fansub right now which subs it. and I just can say, you must see this one, this one is awesome. |

@ Flexlitesin-san Not sure...i don't think they announced how many episodes are there...i also heard it doesn't really begin airing until Spring 08. I imagine it will be a YV series like Macross 7 since it's a supposed sequel. So my guess would be 24 - 26 episodes. Judging by the preview for the next episode the production values remains really high...so does the hi-grade animation. Shoji Kawamori-san like i said has outdone himself again. I so ecstatic that they used 'Ai oboete Imasuka' again...the song is an anime classic & forever timeless. I remember this song more so than i do any of the other Macross songs...this song signifies this series!!! |

| The series will start airing in April. The Deculture edition of ep 1 was a special anniversary ep. I think that there will be another version of ep 1 when it actually starts. Nobody seems to know how many eps there will be, but I'll bet on the longer side, at least 24, maybe 36, perhaps even 52. |

Well April i upon us and the official 1st episode of Macross F is finally here. There are some differences between this one & the one that aired as a special...for the most part it is identical. A nostalgic intro is shown like previous Macross series depicting the evolution of the series....from the war with the Zentradi to the expansion to other galaxies. The new intro song Triangler by Maaya Sakamoto is pretty good & upbeat. The ending theme is very slow & soft...& no it is not Ai Oboete Imasuka. It is very brief as well. Once again the animation quality is top-notched...we are talking about Shoji Kawamori so expect the best from him. Still the story is a little unclear who the invaders are but they look cool nonetheless. One of the new Spring anime series i'm highly looking forward too & so far both 1st episodes doesn't disappoint. Although i am concerned about the 13 episode length of the series but we'll get to that point when the time comes. |

2nd episode was pretty exciting....especially the first half of the episode. I'm still wondering after watching it who the invaders really are. All we know is they are called the Vajra. A hilite of the episode is the very end when Ranka meets Sheryl for the first time, after singing one of her songs. A cute moment. Anyways does anyone else think that Ranka-chan is an absolute adorable character? Something about her radiates...she's so much different than past macross heroines...she does have a characteristic of Mao Nome from Macross Zero. The music is really starting to grow on me...the intro Triangler does sort of doesn't fit the series...but still a good song nonetheless. I do like Diamond Crevasses...it's not the same song that was in episode one. I've yet to find out what that song is though. The 13 episode length scares me but since Mr.Shoji Kawamori is involved i'm not that worried about it. He knows what he's doing. |

@ Flexlitesin-san Still not much info about the Vajra in the 3rd episode...they do seem to react when Sheryl or Ranka were singing. We never get to know cause Ozma came in to interupt things. The episode is more about character development so other than the beginning not much action happens. There are some similarities to the original when Alto, Ranka & Sheryl were trapped which was kinda like when Hikaru & Minnmei were trapped in the original. Anyways there are some funny moments...the usual guy accidently removes the girls clothing by mistake moment, Ranka offering some 'buns', Ranka tries to remove her hands from Alto's shirt. Very funny stuff. Ranka finds out about Ozma's profession, Alto joins the SMS near the end of the episode & Ranka competes in the Miss Macross competition. Is it me or is there one in every Macross incarnation? Finally found out about episode ones ending song. Ranka sings it in this episode called "Aimo"....very pretty song...very Yoko Kanno. There is a change in episode length as well...found out it is scheduled for a 25 episode length. Now that is more like it. This is for me the best anime of the spring season by far!! |

After watching ep3, I mean if they can keep it up like that, it will be my favorite of the year. The pace of the story is just incredible. Ranka is into the Miss Macross competition in ep4. Minmay did that in ep9 in the original. If they can fit the whole thing in 13 episodes, I don't mind that. At least they won't have fillers hopefully. Like FMP TSR, every episode have had enough material to make me hooked. |

when i first watched this i was like did they remake the macross series? but its a new one yay!. I watched the movies and they were great! Singing for universal peace. Do you think singing will be the ultimate power again or is it another Gundam Seed/ Super Robot wars/ robot vs alien anime?  |
