well....you can try using virtual machine/virtual pc like innotek virtual box, microsoft virtual PC 2007 or others virtualpc to prevent being attacked again~ then u can use the virtual machine to surfing the web...it doesnt matter if its get attacked by virus, trojan or malware ...because they cant do any harm to your original OS (which means OS inside OS :P) , then you can restore the virtualizer to their earlier state :D ![]() ![]() |

@Kid: sure you could do that, but a virtual machine never runs half as well as the real thing does when you need to do anything resource intensive. In short, all it comes down to is this. Don't do anything dumb online. If you see something that your gut tells you not to open or run, then DON'T! Now, if something already has gotten into your system, the easiest and most guaranteed method of getting rid of it is this. Take out your hard drive, put it into an enclosure or into another computer as a slave, back up whatever you want to keep, and format it. Yes, there are ways to get rid of whatever's possibly infecting it, but it's a long uphill battle 9 times out of 10, and explaining all the steps you'd have to do online and every method would be time consuming and ultimately alot more difficult than copying your files back from the other computer after you reinstall your OS. Plus, there's no guarantee that the other methods won't have some sort of effects anyway like leaving back-doors behind, etc. As for running linux, Linux is for people with waay too much time on their hands that know how a machine works on the hardware level. I'm A+ Certified and I'm working on a Computer Engineering major and even I have difficulty figuring out how to do certain things that are relatively simple in Windows (Mainly the setting up is the hard part though). In short, if you've got the time and you want to, go to battle with it. If you need something that you know will work and you don't want to spend more than a day on it, just do a backup-format-reinstall.
Beware the quiet people,
You don't know their intentions
(small signatures are sooo much cooler since they don't annoy people trying to read through posts!) |

Here's my two cents. REFORMAT your computer reformatting will wipe everything on your hard drive and you will have a clean slate. After reformat install Norton Corporate. To me it's one of the best anti-virus. It was a lot better than NOD32, AVG and Norton Regular. It won't bog down your computer, uses hardly any system resources. If you need cooperate PM me and I'll send you a copy. Firewalls are the worse deal also never install a firewall those are almost like viruses itself with my experience. They could of gotten better over the pass years I've been without one. |
