Did any of you guys know there will be a live action version of Negima airing on Oct. 3 2007! for a total of 26 episodes. I was doing some reading on animenewsnetwork & found out about this just now. I have to say that the trailer it showed (which is on the homepage) is kinda cool. Some of the actress's casted for the characters are pretty cute. I'll post the link up for those interested....I have to say that my fave character (Ayaka) looks absolutely gorgeous....Nodoka looks really cute as well. On the site you can see each actress introduce themselves in the profile page. Anyways here's the link...tell me what you think about it.....i'm definitely curious. DANG! I read about this during the Summer, but I thought it was just some fan rumor(s). I read some more serious info that seemed fact, but I was just in dis-belief to believe anything at that point (or...something...). Negima!? is like, one of my favorite nearly almost all-time animes ever! If Mahora can finish subbing it by like, Christmas or so, I can see the final six episodes or so. The only thing that I know about that, for a minute here about the anime, I read (a while back) that the DVDs for the series will release next year. Most likely I'm guessing in Japan, so then it might be a while to see it released here in America. I just hope they don't sub it THEN or I'll flip out. Anyways, about this live-action, the girls do look cute. Shiraishi Ryoko is friggin' GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, etc.!! O.O` Here's her page on that site (part of it), Izumo presented above here. You can't forget about Ai Nonaka doing Konoka and Horie Yui doing the voice of Makie. Never knew that, just knew a little bit about Yui-chan from watching School Rumble (she did the first intro, which is pretty catchy). *after seeing the trailer* Hmm, Negi looks a bit funny. It got kind of weird near the ending though. O.o` Like, there were girls crying. I think that was also Ayaka and Asuna fighting. The part where Asuna (I think it was her) blocked Ayaka's punch and had her leg on the podium was pretty hot. O.O` I wonder if Negi's sister Nekane is in this, too. There's also Chamo-kun... Motsu... Shichimi... maybe the black-rose baron, too? Who knows. XD I saw Chachamaru and I think the shorter girl near her with the witch like hat, was Evangeline. It was kind of hard telling who every girl was, but I did get a few from what they were holding or their hairstyles. They even have Takamichi and the Principle, too. Sweet. At one scene with Negi (I think it was involving him), there was this really hot lady. She looked more like a teacher then one of Negi's students cause she wasn't really wearing a uniform. Plus, she didn't really look like she was acting as a student to me... Man, all this talk just makes me want to watch the only available episodes I have of Negima + 2 OVAs all over again. Kind of needed Wiki to help me out here a bit. o^_^o Wow, October is surely going to be an exciting month! So much anime, let alone this new Negima Live-Action. Cant' wait! I might explode though. @.@`

Yeah....i forgot about Shiraishi Ryoko...i was too busy looking at all the students. She does fit the part of the manga. Studying each profile....i think all the actress's cast fit the part. Well Chachamaru does look sort of strange...but oh well....Also Ku Fei looks really weird...i don't know what but i think she looks off a bit. Still i think my fave is Ayaka....her photo on the class list looks HOT...the way her head is tilted a bit...her hair/bangs almost covering her eyes....oooohhhh....i think i may be in LOVE ^_________^!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3!!!!! During the trailer they showed glimpses of Takamichi & the Principle...you can also see Shiraishi Ryoko wearing her glasses....O.O!!!! <3 Just like the anime....they casted a girl to be Negi.....his/her hair is a little messy unless that't the way it's suppose to be like. I think this series is more in lines with the original anime.....if Motsu & Shichimi do make appearances they either be computer generated or like the Sailormoon live-action they'll be stuffed dolls (Luna & Artemis ^___^). I think Nekane may appear in it near the beginning....just like she does in the anime & manga. *note* I agree October is gonna be a awesome month....i have the Negima Live-Action, CLANNAD (movie/tv), Shakugan no Shana 2nd series, Prism Ark, ef~a tale of memories....man....this is gonna be a great season!!!!! @ Lu Bu-san If you looked like Ayaka or Ryoko i would give you mouth to mouth....ummm....are you still gonna see it? |

*attempts to revive Lu-Bu!* X3 That was who was wearing the glasses. But, who does she play? She doesn't actually play Kaede - just checked now. Does she play that teacher with the cyan like color hair from MSN? (I only remember her in that series) O.o` lol, Ku Fie. I'm checking out that page now. Chacha only looks weird, maybe cause of the hair. At first when I saw the homepage of the Negima!? Live-Action, I thought "hmm, nobody really died their hair color." But, I can so totally get used to their original hair color. Sidenote this to reference, but I think it's pretty good they didn't all use the anime style of hair color here. Cause you've seen Japanese cosplayers with bright pink and green hair, etc., and it doesn't look "natural." Well, you don't see people with pink hair everyday now do ya? :D I've only seen a few that have pink hair, blue hair, yellow hair, etc. and it looks fabolous on 'em. More "natural" to put it simple. I won't be having any issues with them having all brown hair and such. o^_^o Maybe it brings out the cuteness in all of 'em, I'unno. Haruna's live-action actress looks just like the anime version of Haruna. You're right, AYAKA looks friggin' hot! Linchou looks pretty nice in that uniform too. /drools~ » [xyunki] Ai's cuter, but Ryoko is way hotter. Still, I like 'em both. Cute and hot are still good anyways, to me. :3 [edit] Besides Ayaka, I think Asuna looks pretty good too. I love the design on Zazie, though. ;P [edit-2] I remember seeing the Sailormoon Live-Action. Only saw a few episodes, but yeah I saw Rin. It was kind of cute though. ^_~`

@ DAngel-san Actually we made a mistake....Ryoko-san & Yui Horie-san are not in the live-action series. The links at the top are the singers that are employed by StarChild. SO basically Ryoko-san works for the company. The actual person who plays Shizuna (the lady with the green hair in the original anime) is Nao Oikawa who was originally an adult film star before becoming more mainstream. You can just GOOGLE her name....& see her website....O_O!!!!! NOW I REALLY WANT TO SEE THIS SERIES!!! hubba hubba. Here is another link to another site with more pics of the girls as well as Nao Oikawa & Hiroshi who plays Takamichi. Supposedly this was the introduction of the series coming to air at some event in Tokyo. Nao Oikawa was the MC. Negima series intro event Hahaha...yeah Haruna has those funky bangs sticking out of her head...again alot of the girls hairstyles are very similar to the manga. They do seem more natural to them. Chacha i figure is wearing a wig. YES!!!! AYAKA iincho IS HOT!!!!! I"M STILL IN LOVE!!!! I've been looking at her profile intro for some time now.....i think i may be turning into a stalker.....ummmmmm......must refrain myself....*drool* |

Dang, Oikawa Nao looks friggin' hot! Jesus... O.O` Her or Ryoko (but not), they could still play the hot 455 teacher! Makes me wonder who'll play Nekane if she'll make an appearance. 26 episodes is a lot of episodes for this Live-Action, and she is sort of a major character being Negi's older sister 'n' all. Ugh, it's only a few more weeks but I still can't wait. This is going to be really cool. Haven't seen anything related to Negima!? in a while now since the episodes aren't being subbed (still wondering why). [edit] Pretty old (03 or so), but pretty cute: She looks so hot, yet in the video, she's cute. Interesting Combo. o^_^o Anybody a fan of "A-LY-YA?":

So Rei Ohtsuka plays as Ayaka-san. I've heard that name before but i can't seem to put my tongue on it. Guess i'll have to do some searching for her. Anyways saw the first episode...like most live-action it is sort of cheesy. Some of the special effects are kinda low grade. Though i must say that the cast of girls do make up for it....& yes Nao Oikawa does look very stunning here! I wonder if this is another alternate retelling like Negima!?.....i'll talk more about that later. I noticed some similar scenes to the manga....like the love potion & Nodoka & Negi in the library. I'm curious how the series will turn out....it may be a complete bomb but it's worth checking out. @ DAngel-san The next subbed episode of Negima?! is FINALLY out....how long was that?...it felt like forever. If i remember correctly this is the episode with then ending done in the style of South Park. It is the funniest ending i think....awesome! |

@all Well... as i see many people dancing with joy, ill go ahead and say that it was horrible to watch, infact i couldnt watch more than 10 minutes. And the bashing on japanese forums are soo bad u know..... I actaully question why this was actaully made... I mean its horrible, it breaks the image of the original manga. I mean i thought anime was bad enough... Am I the only one on this one? I highly doubt it - and note that I do read the original manga only... i think popularity of negima has just only brought out tragity for fans like myself OTL. |

One look at the cast and my eyes drifted to Negi. OMFG he looks exactly the same as the anime XD Haha! Well, I think the girl who plays Asuna... her eyes seems to be far apart... or I think it might be me... LGLG most of the time Live Actions are worse than the anime or original content but hey, there's some stuff you can't do in real life than in books or drawings.  |

[@Izumo] Yeah yo, it was like, a long ass time. I remember seeing episode 20 the day after I got it, but I don't remember what the episode was about. It's hard to keep track of it since it takes forever to release a single episode (only 4-6 more now), especially with the newer anime I'm watching now (including older releases). [@Skyl] Yeah, most live actions are like that. I think some cosplayers who do cosplaying "for fun" resemble characters better then ones chosen in live actions at times. Although back to the real characters in the live action, Ayaka is still the best! Geez, haven't dLed the torrent for episode one yet (talking to my dad about faster internet so I'll dL torrents later on).

This has the potential to be either a really awesome adaptation of anime/manga into drama (like Hana Kimi) or fall really short (like Detective Conan). *-* hmmm very curious after what LGLG has posted about it @w@;; definitely will get back to this thread after watching it~   |

A series like this can't be taken too seriously. Like SkyL-san said most live action series are pretty horrible. But that is sometimes the charm of these series....having real people portray your fave characters can sometimes be worth watching. Like i said about this version of Negima. The effects & the occasional acting are a little corny. This can have the potential to be an absolute disaster but if people take this too seriously than what's the point in making it in the first place. Having a series like this should be fun....to see what happens when real actors are used & how successful they pull it off. If you wanna see a series to really digest or discuss seriously go see the anime versions....or better yet read the manga. I say even after all the variations of the anime or live action the manga is still the best. Will these ever be as good as the manga....NO!!! of course not....most manga series are always better than the anime counterparts. Anime & live action are other alternatives to explore & for the creators to stretch their creativity...to see what they come up with. Does it matter if the series tend to stray away from the original manga...i for one don't think so...or do i really care. As long as it keeps my attention i'll watch it no matter what....if you take series too seriously than i think you lose the whole idea of them. You can be critical or complain or discuss every minor detail you want...some fans like doing that sort of stuff. I for one just enjoy it for what it really is...a nice form of entertainment that hopefully you'll remember for a long time. When i watch series like this or any form of anime i just wanna have fun doing it....critiqing it is something i don't like to do. Wll that's my 2 cents about this. Say whatever you want about it...you all are entitled to your opinion. Like i said in the CLANNAD thread. I'm not here to force this series down your throat to watch...you can do so or you don't have to. The person who decides if you wanna see it or not is yourself. After watching 2 episodes of it i'm pretty involved in it...i really don't care if the acting is bad or if the presentation of it is below average....not that it is anyway ^___^. I'm watching cause i like Mr.Akamatsu-san & i like the actors they casted for the roles. They are all quite bubbly & seem to enjoy doing it.... |

Dood, this live is probably going to die a horrible flaming death. The series have sucked and seemed to be cursed when being shown in the US, plus add to the fact that most live-action translation adds a suckiness factor (most, not all. GTO is a good example of an excellent live losing only points because no human can ever copy manga Onizuka's expressions) and it just tells me to stay away from it.
