Board suggestion

I notice when I do a board search, it only allows searching of topic titles. And it says "Search thread titles starting with". Now, I think it would make it a lot easier to search if you could search for thread titles that had certain words IN them, not just starting with those words. For instance, I could search for the word "Bleach", and get a thread that's titled "Bleach Rocks!" but miss a topic that says "What Bleach character do you like most", even though both are about Bleach.

Also, why is there no searching of thread contents, just thread titles? I have no idea what database this forum uses, and it's been a while since I've played with SQL, but I think you can search databases pretty extensively.

That's the way the search has always been. It's just how it is. In Gendou's words, it's a 'dumb' search engine that won't fix spelling mistakes or things like that. If you want it to find something you'll just have to get the title correct. I'm not exactly sure if Gendou wants to mess around with the search function to include things like tags or keywords.

Gendou is trying to "fix" the search to allow it to search better, like find all topics with "whatever" in the title or something. It seems slow going with everything else he has going on so don't expect it too soon. For now, be happy we have what we have.
