...Should I buy a Nintendo DS or a PSP? A lot of good games have come out, and I still can't decide. There are games i really wanna play on both handhelds, but i only have enough for one. Which one should I choose? PSP: Disgaea, Final Fantasy Tactics etc... DS: Final Fantasy XII, Pokemon Diamond etc... |
Re: I know this is stupid but...

yeah, depends on what games do you like most... maybe you should think the price of both handhelds, and look for the lists of games that you might be interested... |

It depends on what you want. The DS pretty much only plays games, yeah it has a picto chat feature, but chatting is what MSN is for. The PSP plays games, but can also be used for music, videos and internet browsing. (You can even download music from here at Gendou and then listen to it right away on the PSP.). Of course the thing about the PSP is, if you want to maximize the music/video/internet possibilities then you need a bigger memory stick. A 512MB or up would be good. (I've got 1GB for mine.) |

I'd choose the PSP. I think the price dropped a bit, too? :3 ------- |
Re: I know this is stupid but...

I say DS. The PSP will still be going down in price in the next little bit. I dunno how much the DS is. Although the games are rather expensive. I want a DS over a PSP cuz you can play Yoshi's Island. That is a must get :D

The choice is up to you, I'm not going to tell you which one you should get based off of what I like and frankly, neither should anyone. What genre of games do you like? Do you like Nintendo games or Sony games better? Do you think you will be using features like music, video and/or Internet? We need some info about what you like before we can give any recommendations. |

PSP's price went down to $199.99 here. That's still pretty expensive, then you have to buy games and movies, and a memory stick if needed. But, you can surf the net, and download stuff, plus listen to music. I don't know. >< I like Sony alot, because they have more variation in their games, and I trust them more. As for nintendo, you get the Pokemon franchise, the Mario franchise, the Legend of Zelda franchise and others that simply do not go onto other consoles. It is a very hard decision indeed >< Sorry I am not that much help! |

Nobility has nothing to do with it. I'm not going to tell someone to go out and spend their money on a system or item that doesn't suite any of their interests. From the sounds of things they are asking for what system they should go for. |

Both aren't that bad though. I've played both and both have really fun games. It's almost like GC or PS2 type thing but yeah, whatever you choose, there really isn't anything negative about it. ------- |

IMO, It depends if you like their new nintendo games for DS. If you dont favor mario stuff and the new nintendo games... Then I think PSP is the choice. PSP has many great games. you can also download some old school games too :D i have seen my friend download games like bleach, super mario, ff7 etc. :D AND you can listen to music and watch movies and pictures. But make sure you buy like at least 1 gig of memory. IMO you save more money for PSP because you download instead of buying new games, and PSP has great games. If you like nintendo games and you are a nintendo fan, then maybe you have to reconsider getting the DS. :D good luck! hope i was helpful, although i probably repeated alot of what people said. xD |

Oh yeah, if you get into modding the PSP (it has to be a slightly older model. The new model PSP's are currently un-moddable) then the PSP is the only way to go. Sony didn't intend for you to do this but who cares? I like playing Megaman, Advance Wars and Pokemon on my PSP. A classmate I know actually has an entire OS for his PSP, he's got Paint, Wordpad and a bunch of applications on his with only a 32MB card. |

I think for me I'll go for the PSP, it has more features. Sure the DS has stylus and 2 screens, but I don't see if that really BOOSTS up its usefulness. [lol just download ROMs, but it's illegal] |

hmmm.... actually it really depends on you...but ill give you tips... DS: MAJOR ADVANTAGE: for RPG games, well its no.1 for having 2 screens and having a pen like structure to use for moving the characters etc... MAJOR DISADVANTAGE: i can only think one...poor quality graphics PSP: MAJOR ADVANTAGE: USB connectable, Easy to use and Wide Screen with Good quality Graphics. MAJOR DISADVANTAGE: as what I had noticed here*JAPAN* most PSP are easily broken...I dont know the reason behind but everytime I go to the GAME CENTER, it always welcomes me..customer having an argument with their PSP *Poor staffs..they are just selling the product though...* hope it can help you..^^ |
