I got a bit of a problem reguarding my USB ports. You know how for most MP3 players you connect them to a USB to transfer music files into player, the problem with mine is that whenever I plug in my mp3 player into the USB port, the computer does not detect the player at all. I've tried using all of my USB ports, but the computer still isnt detecting it. I dont think the ports are defective since they work when I plug in the cord for my DSL connection. And the player itself still works perfectly and dosent show any signs of holding corrupted files (though it's going to run out of power soon) However my computer simply dosent detect the device. And just to note this problem only started about 3 days ago. Anyone have any suggestions besides replacing my hardware? |

What programs do you use to transfer the songs from your computer over to your mp3? You can either close that program, and try again, or restart your computer. I did one of the other before, and it ended up working fine for me since i also use a mp3 player. ------- |

Did you get any software with your MP3 Player? Anything that would install drivers for it. I got a CD with mine and I don't use a program to transfer music to it. |

I just tried restarting my computer, sadly didnt work. I've been using iTunes to put songs on my old shuffle since I got it. And it's worked just fine up until recently. My shuffle dosent even appear on "My Computer" when it's in the USB port. |

Are mp3s and iPods similar? Sometimes my mp3 will freeze if I charge it, and I forget to take out the USB cord after shutting off my computer. A friend did that to her iPod, and it was like, dead the next morning. It wasn't 'dead', but it was somehow frozen for quite some time. ------- |

@ Kay: Reinstalling the drivers might help.. but I have no idea how to do that. I'll probably need to google up directions later, but I'm pretty short on time right now... @ Dn: ipods and mp3 players are bascally the same thing. But my shuffle dosent have anything like a screen or anything and is pretty plain and simple looking. But I dont have any problems with it, it's still working just fine. byt mught I ask how long your friend's ipod was "dead" before it came back? I think I have a similar situation with a replacement player I tried to use -_-... (@All: Alright, problem solved, thanks guys! ^^) |

most likely just download the drivers in vista if you have it it will automaticly try to a identify the device and then b install the drivers for you = ) if not on vista just go to the manufacturores site and download it from them |

I've had the same problem with mine. Try pressing the reset button, if it has one. If not (and I'm assuming that this player has a screen, here), try going to settings, system, and use 'restore default settings', or something to that effect. Not all companies word it the same way. |

It seems Ugo's problem is solved now. Reinstalling drivers or installing driver via on the Installer CD (if any) will solve this problem, I think... XD |
