Long time user with new problem

Hi all, I've used Gendou.com for years but recently I've encountered a new problem with downloading. When I right click-save as, I get an error box saying the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. I tried just clicking on the link because in the past that would give me a prompt to save, but it directs me to the page that says "You must wait 10 seconds between downloads", even if I haven't visited the site in hours or days! Then, when I wait 10 seconds and click the Retry link, it does the same thing. The window title says download error (flooding). I've seen other posts where people were asking this same question but weren't waiting 10 seconds or had a download accelerator running; I promise that's not the case here! Other things I've noticed: it doesn't matter if I connect at home or on the school network, or if I'm on my laptop or desktop. I definitely don't have a download accelerator, and I have anti-virus software installed and running. Refreshing, logging out, restarting, and clearing my history/cookies/temp internet files hasn't worked either. I've read the Help/FAQ and I'm still at a loss. I'm sure it's something simple (and probably stupid) that I'm causing. Please help so I can enjoy this great site again! |

seeing that you've been here for three years, it's not a wonder why your're surprised. you're not the first one to report such a case to us. if you're running on a shared internet server (ip addresses are similar except for the last set of numbers), someone else might be downloading at the same time as you are, so it gives you that screen. but if you're not, we will check on that. the link may be dead as well for some reason. either way, we'll see what we can do to fix this. if you could just tell us what song you were trying to download? does this happen to all the songs you try to download? -michiyo- ![]() beware. the QueeN oF SiGGieS is here. kill that mr. scrolly or your siggy goes BAI BAI. it's solidarity month! let's be united! +[-- GeNDouNiaNS: i am half-back! visit my blog by clicking on the siggie banner! updated: 12.07.07 --]+

if you have a download accelerator program, try disabling that. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thank you for replying to my question so quickly. The problem actually happens when I try and download any song, independent of time of day or location (home vs. school). When I'm at home I'm in a very rural area on a satellite connection--I'm not sure, but that makes me think it would be unlikely that someone nearby would have a similar IP address (is that logical?). In any case, I haven't had much luck either way for several weeks. In response to the second message, definitely no download accelerators here. I've never downloaded one, but I googled a list of titles and double checked just to make sure there wasn't a malicious one hiding out somewhere on my hard drive. There's not a "bundled" one in Internet Explorer or anything, is there? Thanks again for your time. |
