Ok, since last year's E3, Sony and Playstation 3 console have been getting a lot of mixed reviews and criticism from gamers, fanbases, franchisers, critics, and just about everyone and their mother. Now, months after the release of the console, sales seem to have slowed after holiday season in that many stores are currently stocked with a good amount, around ten per store from what I understand, and checked with a sample of stores. I'm curious as to who owns a PS3, and what their thoughts about the system, Sony, anything related to it. Anyone (whether you have one or not) is welcome to comment about the system or company (or games). I'm curious because I've always been a fan of the Playstation console line, thus I have a biased opinion. |

Yeah, I saw it too, which didn't leave me with much but what people have heard or news of what's been going on with the release and stuff. What I'm interested in more is why or why not a person did/would or didn't/wouldn't buy a PS3. Outside of the robbing, shooting, the guy that took a hammer to the PS3 the day of the release right in front of the people waiting in line, there are hazy responses to the system (at least in my perspective). I guess I'm curious what are people's feelings toward the system. |

That guy is so gonna get killed for doing what he did. He did it to the Wii, too. Not sure if he did it to the XBox 360 though. >.> A simple answer for your first question, on why/why won't people purchase the PS3? Simple... the price. The majority of the reasons all over America, are that alone.

As for the smashing guys who buy devices to smash them, I can't wait for the day when they do that in front of a line and those 100 sleep/bathed/decent food/personal space deprived people go at them and make them suffer. I really want to see that.    |

I'm getting one as soon as I saved the money and when the games I want are out. (DMC4, MGS4, RE5, etc.). I know someone who has one and have played on it a few times, it's a very good console, looks really good, and there's a lot to do on it and with it. |

Yeah, Jon, this is a good time now that the better games are coming out. Also, about that one dude, he actually did it in front of a crowd. They might have not been a cavemen type crowd as you stated there, but they were waiting for hours I think. He broke the Wii himself on one video, and on another, a friend I guess, broke the PS3.

im getting one when the ps4 arrives!hahaha price drops!haha a guy who smashed his newly purchased console?what a moron... he smashed the wii and ps3 but not the 360? fan boys...cant live with em!they make gaming world more "entertaining" hahaha |

I'm not sure if he broke a 360 or not. But the thing about the PS3 is, when he did break it, the camera turned to two asian guys standing in line staring at the guy who broke the PS3. And then the camera turned to the guy who broke the PS3 (rear view angel), and they were just staring at each other until the video ended. I think there's a few of these videos on youtube.com somewhere, but even so, he must've been rich or something. Anyways, like the Wii, I just want to play one. Doubt I'll get one. I don't even touch my PS2 nowadays.

With those guys it's just best to ignore them. Their only doing it to get attention or get people riled up. You ignore them and all their doing is wasting money like the idiots they truly are. |

@zpaaticus: hey, I bought Wii last week. it has nice graphic too. (don't compare it to PS3, Wii definetly lost >_<) btw guys... if you had bought PS3 don't play it too much will ya. my cousin ended up paying the electricity bill twice times than he usually does. It consume electricity much more than we thought.      |

Zparticus: it has 2 kind of controller. one for play the first person view game (like bowling or else) and one for play like usual. yup, at the first I thought sony won't do anything with the output system of PS3 since PS2 & PS1 had really nice low electricity consuming. but, the blue ray system consume much more electricity (I could say twice times more). that has to be the weakness point of PS3 |

damn im already in deep sh*t with my electric bill from constant playing now double that with ps3 noooo! darn...but still...i want MGS4 hahaha doesnt the wii controller feel awkward? |

@Zparticus: ha3. yes it does. but it's fun to play with ^^ even my father always spare his time to play Wii XD ha3. his also kinda... you can day his not a bad gamer >_< ha3. I just hope that the PS3 price's get lower soon. I want Final Fantasy XIII. |

Well, my impression of the PS3 was conflicting. The system looks awesome: new drive, new components, a wireless controller, Wi-Fi internet, all embedded within a freaking cool case. Like any new system, kinks had to be worked out, and I remember the graphics sucked major a-- in terms of backwards compatibility, which has since been fixed (more or less). In terms of the launch games, the graphics are all that the system boasts with beautiful images, scenes, detail. If anyone finds flaws, they were looking very, very closely and/or knew what to look for. The games themselves are fun (most of them), and does enough to start the system's franchise, but it is unfair to say that the peak of the PS3 potential has been exposed. The fact of the matter is, with internet access, system upgrades, and the ability to swap out harddrives, there are so many possibilities for future games. The remote control, being wireless, is nice, though I personally would've expected/preferred a change in design, particularly the analog sticks; those should've been made to concave... freaking hurts after a while. Also, with heavy reliance on the analog sticks for control, it should've been more spaced out, maybe swapped locations with the joypad or something, something that would've made it a little less strain, imo. The internet features of the system are complex, and annoying to use due to the lack of a keyboard and their current format. As to how that may be changed, I guess the only possibility would be a keyboard and changing the format of the internet browser they have on there. Oh yeah, the internet content has a bit more developing to do, imo. That aside, I have to say the PS3 definitely has a lot of potential, and I can understand the bad hype it has gotten over the past few months, but any person who truly wants a PS3 for their own personal reasons is going to get one, and I feel that no one has the right to criticize them for it (this comment not pertaining to anyone in these forums... yet). P.S. The guy who busted the Wii and PS3... from what I understand, he asked for donations for the money to buy one, then bought one, brought it outside, and had a nice few whacks at it. Personally, I think he had the audacity to collect $600+ from strangers, it should've gone to charity or something... not to bust a PS3 in publix. Sheesh. |

The worst game for the PS3 in terms of an OVERALL game, was this one Gundam game; I forget the full title. It was a "launch title for the most advanced gaming console in existence ~ X-Play, Adam Sessler" I think from seeing the Wii and PS3 wireless controllers, I'd say PS3 "seems" easier to use. My friend has a Wii, and I recently went to his birthday party like two weeks ago or so, and all my friends there were having such a hard time. We were even playing the beginning games that help you get used to the controller before you go out and use 'em on the bigger games. I want to play one so bad, though I'll never buy one. Maybe I'll get one in a few years as a gift to someone, who knows. :D
