Which version of WMP? You also could be missing codecs. I remember that happened to me when I tried to watch videos on WMP9 and needed codecs to play some videos.

Then it's either a problem with the video itself (Which other members would have reported already) or your missing some video codecs.

You should use VLC.
Its one of the best out there, open source, free and no need for codecs.

Can you download your videos from VLC to a media device like the Zune.

I wouldn't be 'from VLC to Zune'. Whatever programs you use to transfer video files to any portable media player is what you use.

VLC is only a media player, in that it does one thing, and one thing only: it plays media. And since it can focus on that sole task, it does a very good job of it. WMP on the other hand does a lot more than just play music and video, including library management, burning and ripping, and media shopping and sync with portable devices.

Hi. I had also downloaded Death Note Episode 1, and watched it. So far, I like it, and I wanted to download and see more episodes. But, they're not on the site anymore...
Will they be made available later on, or will they not be hosted on Gendou anymore??

They will not be hosted anymore because Death Note is a licensed series.

I got the videos to work. Downloaded a codec for windows. Seems to be of lesser quality than VLC. That sucks about Death Note though any idea when it will come to DVD.

No video for Nodame Cantabile 1 & 2. I tried the mp4 files with both Quicktime and VLC. I get sound, but no video. :( In fact, VLC crashes after a few seconds of playback. Nothing's crashed VLC before.

@Eiko: Do you have the latest version of VLC (0.8.6a)?

oh, good catch. I hadn't realized there was an update. I have 8.1 will get 8.6 and try again. Thanks.

yup, that was it. VLC is now playing Nodame. :D

Well that really sucks.

Do NOT update to QT 7.1.5 if you are running Mac OS 10.3.9

And now, VLC0.8.6 closes immediately on starting to play a file. VLC is aware of the problem and doesn't have a fix yet. Apple is aware that the QT update is playing havoc with a number of different programs, everything from VLC to TurboTax to web browsers.

If you have updated, go back to VLC 0.8 It will play with QT7.1.5 But this means that I can't play Nodame anymore.

Download link to VLC 0.8
http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.8.0/macosx

This thread at the apple forums details a way, a very headache causing way, to uninstall QT 7.1.5
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=880695&tstart=0

But, it seems there is something called "Pacifist" down near the bottom of the thread that may be able to do it fairly painlessly.

I may try it later, but I'm way too tired to figure it out now.
