Starforce Nightmare
|
Do any of you know how to get past the version of Starforce on Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood? I want to know so that I can run it on a mounted image (no, I didn't pirate it, I just want it to run faster). I do have alcohol 52 and I tried using Starforce nightmare to disable some of my drives and SFCURE with no success.

Starforce is known to have a lot of problems including slowdowns. I wouldn't suggest getting anything that uses it, but since you have it you'll have to stick with it. I'll look into it although I've never had contact with many Starforce products. Just to clarify your looking for a way to make BIA: EIB to run faster right? |

If anyone has links to a list of known Starforce products, they should post it. It would teach them a lesson if a running boycott was established on software that can't mind its own business. I, for one, would join such a boycott. As a player, I buy a game expecting it to play a game, nothing more. As a consumer, I have decided that any non-game fucntions are not needed, and those that sabotage my equipment will not be tolerated. |

http://www.boycottstarforce.net/ boycott site http://www.glop.org/starforce/ another boycott site http://www.onlinesecurity-on.com/protect.phtml?c=55 for the removal tool I completely hate Starforce. I just want to be able to use a mounted image so that the game will be faster, that's all. I call Starforce a victory over system performance. Because of customer complaints, Ubisoft has quit using it in favor of TAGES but they have yet to release a patch (and haven't announced plans to create one) to kill Starforce. I hate DRM with passion. They use the name, Digital RIGHTS management which can fool gullible people into thinking that it is supposed to work in their favor. Oddly enough, studies that Harvard released have shown that piracy HELPS sales because the people who pirate the games probably wouldn't buy the game anyways and also might find that they like X company and after playing a few pirates, decide that they want to buy them.

3 words: Digital RESTRICTION Management That's what it really stands for. (Though what the "official" name boils down is "managing" other people's rights.) I'm glad that there is an actual boycott against Starforce, as they should not be rewarded for sabotaging other people's equipment just to satisfy their own paranoid, control-freak tendencies. |
