Don't know if this was posted yet, I searched but nothing came up so...

Anyone else ever play this game? I know it's kind of crap but the story (The written one by Goichi Suda, a.k.a Suda 51) is pretty good. How did you find it? Too Mature? Too emo? Too mentally disturbed?

Nintendo Power said that the game was good. I plan to hunt down a copy. I can stand a lot for a decent story(I have played through the original .hack series). It's graphics are a work of art.

Please visit my message board, I only have 3 members now and I would appreciate it. It is at s10.invisionfree.com/the_world_2.

Just be careful with it, a lot of it is kind of disgusting or disturbing. Not so much scary. Also, you don't actually control your character, your characters is stuck on 'rails', all you do it hold down the A (Or X for PS2) button and flick the control stick when you come to intersections, optional hallways or objects.

I'd say it's a pretty decent game. Sometimes a bit confusing with the controls, especially when going into FPS mode. Loading times can be frustrating, but I think it's worth the wait. The story is probably what'll keep you going, and the climax is worth trudging through the game for. Voice acting pretty good. Just be aware of the excessive violence and the surprises (the laughter of invisible Heaven Smile around the corner...shock value!). Once you get over that, you're good to go. Oh, and the art is really something else.

I found it not so much violent but more along the lines of disgusting violence. Everything was kind of gross to watch.

Your right though, the story is the main thing that will keep you going.

I never really got a shock from the enemies though, the laugh wasn't that surprising. Although I was playing during the day at my friends house so we were sort of mocking all the aspects in the game. We do that a lot.^^;

I liked the fact that the violence was stylized...blood as droplets or strands of red. The idea of using blood for healing and upgrades was pretty fun.

I usually play games alone and late into the night...which is probably why the laughing unnerves me. Especially when they're suddenly real close and I'm treated to a nice angle of my Smith getting blown to pieces. Unpleasant. (Though death scenes are always fun to watch :D)

Probably what disappointed me the most was all the backtracking you had to do...add to that the constant spawning of often-invisible enemies and things do get repetitive after a while. It would also be good to have a little more character development for each Smith...which wouldn't require a spin-off book available only in Japanese :( meh.

Oh well.

@Grasswatcher- Yeah, the actual story written would have cost too muck to make into a game, it's a shame.

Yeah, Killer7 is a really cool game, but like you guys said, there wasn't much character development for the whole Smith organization. The game has a lot of style though, and I like how the animation style changes for certain areas.
I was a little disappointed at the end though, because the final boss didn't actually feel like a final boss.

Little piece of extra info: my favorite member of the Killer7 was Mask de Smith. Too bad his playability through a normal playthrough is lessned by the fact that he can't get blood. =/

My favorite was Harman Smith. The one you can regularly play as in Killer 8 (Clear Killer 7). Not for the fact that his Vitality is maxed(Because in Killer 8 all other characters will die in a single hit) but because he looks cool.XD He's also got a cool gun, PPSH I think.

I thought Killer7 was pretty awesome (a very good story). A little disturbing and strange but that's what makes the game so great.

You need a reason to be sad. You don't need a reason to be happy. The secret to happiness is to face the fact that the world is horrible.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the patience to play through Killer8 mode. It just seemed to me that it was too time consuming. The fact that I couldn't always find the weak spots made it really uncomfortable. And the Young Harman didn't seem like an interesting person to play.

@Kuwagata- The one thing I noticed was how easy Killer8 was. The first time I played Killer7 was at my friends house one day. He was on my PSP behind me while I was playing it, I was playing Killer8 without even realizing it and it was really easy. I never even thought there were weak point indicators or that the player could take more than one or two hits. I played about a third or more of the game before I realized it was Killer8. It was just so easy.
