Yehs it is better. In my country,Melon bread is just a plain bun with some crispy crusts over it and butter and sugar as it fillin' |

Two of my favourite foods ^_^ I will have ramen then meronpan afterwards, please ^^ Eeto, I'm a bit confused why ramen is being compared to melon bread, though. Is there another kind of ramen that isnt noodles and stuff in miso soup? Melon bread is a sweet cake type bread, but ramen is, uh, what Naruto eats ^^ Thats why I dont mind having both in one meal ^^ In Tokyo, if going shopping or around town, I used to have melon bread for breakfast from the depaato ^^ I dont like to eat until after I leave home. Then ramen in the evening sometimes, from a ramen-ya. itadakimaaaasu ^_^  |

omg.....two fav choices and i have to pick one... But if you know me, the answer is obviously.... MELON BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! ooooooooh, the feeling that it gives off when u first take ur bite, is indescribable and tastes unbelievably good. >.< @WkQuek90: Melon bread is not just a "plain bun with some crispy crusts over it and butter and sugar as it fillin!!!!!! I don't know where the heck you came from but that was so NOT a "REAL" melon bread >.< Apparently many places in the world doesn't know how to make a delicious melon bread even in NY. However, most of Japan's bakeries does know, and anyone who ever had this good tasting bread, would know exactly what i mean  |

I prefer ramen. I had melon bread once, but I don't think the person who made it knew was she was doing. -_-;; It was mildly traumatizing. So I'll stick with my noodles.
Where in the nine hells did you ever find the notion that I would fight fair?

every Asian or almost every Asian has had ramen... i like it to the extent that its not the same friggen flavor every single god damn day. melon bread is good too, almost like a pineapple bun... cant find a place that acutaly makes melon bread here in NAmerica, go to japan...streets are littered with bakeries with this stuff... |

@azu baka: yes, i bet there's tons of place in the US that sells melon bread but its just that its not very good tasting. there's like 3 store in my neighborhood that sells them but they all tasted nasty. Right now i buying them from a store thats like 15 miles away from my house >.< pineapple bread taste like melon bread?!?!?!?! LOL .....melon bread taste different than those breads they sell in those chinese bakeries.....im not sure if u knew this but chinese bakeries like taipan...u know how much oil they use? its seriously unbelievable.....i bet a person can gain 10 pounds just by eating them daily for 3 weeks.... For those ppl who never tried melon bread: get ur butt outside and buy one! ur missing out a lot. and i mean A LOT!!!! |

I've had melon bread once, but it was really bad, probably because the baker went overboard with the sugar. -_-' So I'd have to say...RAMEN!!! Ramen is introduced in nearly every single anime (okay, maybe that's an exaggeration), plus it's addictive! XD
Have you ever noticed that everyone who saves the world from complete and utter destruction has been a TEENAGER? We must lose our strength with age or something...

Melonpan is better as a snack or breakfast pastry. (psst, there is a link to a melonpan recipe in the Japan forum in the Japanese food recipes Thread) Ramen is better for a meal. The inventor of instant ramen and cup noodles died on Friday, it hit the news today. I'll have some ramen in his memory this week. And really, both are real foods, not anime or made up foods. So why is the topic here? @rokuemon Where do you eat Ramen that it's in miso soup? The soup is usually a chicken/pork/vegetable broth with soy sauce flavoring (and with lots of variations including miso), but it's not miso soup. Everytime I've had fresh ramen, it was never in miso soup, or even in miso flavored soup, though instant ramen does have that flavor, it's not one I eat. The miso obscures the true flavor of the soup, imo. Get up to Sapporo and have some real ramen up there. It's better there than any place I've had ramen in Tokyo. |

@Guardianmuka, melon bread here in NA taste nasty; i agree, i didnt really mean it to be pineapple bun tastes like melon bread...it looks like it..T_T, those Chinese bakeries are ok at making them, depends on your tastebuds... i dun think they use that much oil... @eiko, just buy the noodles...and make your own miso soup...add the 2 together...TA DA, not as good as restaurant made but just as good if you followed instructions...hehe |

never ever had a taste or even a teeny weeny bit of melon 'pain' (Japanese/French-i suppose "pain" works in both) so I'll go for Ramen.. i love ramen noodles..yum..esp the extra hot+spicy ones from the ramen shops  |
