Anime Expo Anyone?

Have you heard about the Anime Expo in the US? Have you ever been in one? (Tell me about it!!) Well..here in LA, every year they have one...It takes 4 days and there is all kind of activities...Cosplay contest, voice animation contest, karaoke contest, etc etc...and my friend has decided to take me this year...And we are going to participate in the karaoke contest. AX Idol...So I was doing some research...And the contestants were really good last year...Now I'm scared of competing... In order to be able to move into finals...contestants need to sing a really powerful song...It could have high notes...really good beat...and I have no idea what to sing!! Any ideas of really good anime songs? |

I`ve heard about it, but I`m in Germany, almost the other side of the world. I plan to study in LA, so perhaps in 2 years I`ll go there. Pame, you have a good voice, you should sing something you like. Remember: Having fun is the most important thing. ^^   |

Huy thanks!!! I guess I'm really anxious about it...I don't know why...I hate it when I doubt myself...it happens a lot...I really want to do good in the contest though...But yes...you are right! The important thing is to have fun right? The anime Expo in LA this year will be held in Long Beach from June 29 to July 2, if I'm not mistaken... |

Thank you!!! ^-^ So now i only need songs that ask a lot...like hard songs...I need to make a list~ ^-^ Any ideas? |

ax is held in orange county, not la. initially at long beach, it's been held at the anaheim convention center for the past several years, but it's gonna return to long beach next year. poor planning and oversleeping usually wrecked my schedule, so i've never watched the ax idol competition. i would say sing something you enjoy, but there's probably a lot of songs that fit that criterion. write out a list; choose your favorites; weed out easy songs and ones that are beyond your vocal range; sing them over and over; and keep the ones that you're never tired of. i don't know how helpful that is. whatever the case, hope you enjoy yourself. |

I want to go, but my Katana is preventing me since I only cosplay as a type of samurai. Usually for halloween and I always carry my katana around, so yeah. I wanna go, but I can't. TT__TT  |

I meant to say that the AX is held at California! Yess In Anaheim!! But this year will be in Long Beach! Are you going??? That's what i am trying to do!! Been there this year in July. You remeber the Annaheim Convention Center one? It was packed. o-o But since I went on the thrid day or so, there wasn't THAT much people. Many many cosplayers. Many really good, more very retarded. I got some bad memories. =-= *cough* They also had artists from famous sites like Deviantart. They also do the DDR competetion, if you were around to see one. CLAMP, Vic, and more famous voice actors and genuine Japanese manga artists were there, some advertising the copic markers. Cosplaying....wow. I saw this group which seemed to be Due le Quartz...I think. Either that or Nightmare or Dir en Grey. :\ Really really awesome. becareful if you're gonna cosplay. Some people, although they don't say anything, will criticise you. People are so mean. >_> But I think grown up men dressing up as sailor moons are a bit disgusting myself. ._. |

I'm gonna revive this thread and I just want to know who's coming to AX this summer at Long Beach. So who's coming here in Gendou? The reason is that so we could all meet, if possible, and support Pame-chan at AX Idol. ^o^ And of course, have fun. Hope to hear from you guys!~ Domo arigatou gozaimasu. :D    |

^-^ I'm going to Ax this year which is held in Long Beach...Eve, another Gendounian is also attending... Like Shinta said...I would love to know who else is attending so we can all meet there! ^-^ As far as I know, you can purchase your ticket online...right now I believe it is 50 dollars..if you buy it after March 16 then I will go up to 60, so it's better is you purcharse it as soon as you can. I did already buy mine! If you need any information, let me know! ^-^ |

I dream of one day, going to one of these huge, jam packed festivals, but PA will never host one... *sigh* Well, have fun Pame and who ever else is going to one. :D
