Obviously there are songs that we thought are pretty good when we first heard or saw the music video long time ago. Even better yet, maybe some people have never heard of it! I create this thread to bring back good ol' memories with songs. Maybe even let other members find new artists or songs they could like too. Think of some songs that you thought were good when you first heard them. It doesn't have to be J-Pop or anime songs. Include what you know about it. I highly recommend looking on youtube and seeing if they have music videos of it! Like I said before, this is to bring back good memories of it and maybe other members can give their opinions too. For starters, does anyone remember the hit song in France "Daddy DJ" by Daddy DJ? There's also the song "Sweet like Chocolate" by Shanks & Bigfoot looong time ago. Also the song "King of My Castle". I remember first time seeing the music video on MTV Europe, it was set to clips from the Ghost in the Shell movie. All these you can find on youtube. What's your guy's? |

I start liking more Rock music when I heard "Between angels and Insects" from Papa Roach, but the albums that they release later, were not as good as the first one, and that make me sad. and "In the End" from Linking Park was the best song of the year for me when it was released (not sure of the year, 2002 or 2003 maybe) |

for some reason, when i saw this thread, i immediately thought of they might be giants, specifically, 'birdhouse in your soul'. quirky, smart and overall fun to listen, they might be giants is one of those bands that i can never get tired of hearing. another group that's always on my playlist is the velvet underground, and 'stephanie says' and 'pale blue eyes' are classics among classics. then, there's 'twilight' from electric light orchestra. i find elo and disco in general to be delightfully cheesy, so i got quite excited when i heard the song in densha otoko, the j-drama, as the opening theme (a la daicon IV animation). i can think of other songs, but it's about time to leave work. |
